HxH : Pokemon Master-Chapter 95: Gel Plea for Help!
Chapter 95 - Gel Plea for Help!
"Thud!"
Dragonite landed smoothly on the ground with the two riders.
The once dense forest was now gone, replaced by a vast, barren clearing. It had even sunk somewhat, forming a low valley.
The two jumped off Dragonite back, and right in front of them was the mountain-like Jewel Mammoth. Its originally black and red colors had turned charred after the relentless bombardment.
Most of its body was now unrecognizable, with only the underside of its belly remaining relatively unscathed. And then there were those sturdy tusks, which, despite some damage, still looked quite impressive.
Dragonite stepped forward, its orange Aura-covered hands plunging into the mammoth belly and then pulling outward. The opened belly revealed a dazzling light, and what appeared before Akira and the others was their target.
The Jewel Mammoth core—the Diamond Meat!
The translucent Diamond Meat resembled a large diamond, continuously emitting a dazzling brilliance. The diamond meat wasn't small, roughly the size of a car, and it looked quite impressive. As you got closer, a rich aroma of meat would waft into your nose.
Strangely, even without any cooking, the meat emitted such a fragrant smell. It was covered with various patterns and lines, which didn't detract from its appearance.
Instead, it made the diamond meat look like a finely crafted piece of art, a masterpiece of nature.
The goal of this trip had been achieved, but Akira had no intention of summoning Gengar.
Staring at the treasure-like Diamond Meat, Akira couldn't help but salivate, his mouth watering!
His mind was filled with only one thought—eat it!
This would surely bring him even greater improvement!
"Let's have dinner here!" Akira said softly, his eyes fixed on the diamond meat.
Menchi finally shifted her gaze from the diamond meat, equally captivated by it as Akira.
She glanced at the sky, which was gradually darkening, with only the glow of the sunset clouds remaining. They had entered at noon, around 12 o'clock.
After being attacked by a giant antlion, searching for rose rock, capturing a saber-toothed tiger, and hunting a gem mammoth... It was now evening.
Their progress had been incredibly fast, far surpassing the other participants. Thanks to their Arcanine and Dragonite for transportation, and even though the ingredients were of high level, they could still capture them with ease.
Unlike others, who would struggle for a long time even with lower-level ingredients, often spending a lot of time and effort without any guarantee of success.
This also tested their decision-making skills, requiring a clear understanding of their team's capabilities.
Aiming too high would only lead to failure.
"Then let's have dinner here!" Menchi agreed with Akira, as it was indeed time for a meal.
Let them taste just how amazing this so-called "diamond meat" really was!
With a snap of her fingers, various kitchen utensils appeared around Menchi.
The "star" of this meal was the iron grill!
The open space created by Dragonite attack made it convenient for Menchi to set up her cooking tools, saving her the trouble of clearing an area herself.
Facing the massive diamond meat, Menchi flicked her right hand, and a cold, gleaming Aura knife appeared in her grasp. She held the diamond meat with her left hand and began cutting with the sharp knife in her right.
The moment her left hand touched the diamond meat, Menchi felt as if she was touching soap. A smooth and soft sensation spread through her hand, making it hard to let go.
Just touching it could keep someone occupied for an entire day. With flashes of cold light, Menchi sliced off several large pieces of diamond meat for dinner. The diamond meat was enormous, more than enough for the cooking process.
A significant portion would remain for the two of them to use freely. So eating some now was no problem at all. Even if they ate it for every meal during this period, there would still be plenty left.
Casually placing the diamond meat on a table made of Aura, Menchi began the meticulous cooking process. It could be eaten raw, but a bit of cooking would enhance the flavor.
Meanwhile, Akira signaled for Gengar to come out—it was time for its appearance.
"Gengar!"
Gengar suddenly leaped out of the shadows, refraining from making faces at Menchi this time, as it knew she was busy.
With a casual gesture, Gengar pulled out the rose rock salt obtained during the day from its belly. Along with a pile of other seasonings it had brought along in advance.
Diamond Meat was a top-tier ingredient, and naturally, its preparation couldn't be careless, nor could the seasonings used be subpar.
After all, the dish that would be scored at the end required both the ingredients and seasonings to come from the ingredient zone. But for the meal they were preparing for themselves, there was no need to worry about such restrictions. They could add whatever seasonings they wanted.
The goal was simple: make it as delicious as possible!
After placing the bottles and jars of seasonings beside Menchi, Gengar moved over to the remaining Diamond Meat. It was difficult to directly store such a large object.
So, Gengar gaseous body rapidly expanded, like a purple balloon being inflated. It swelled up many times its original size!
Then, with a sudden inhale, it sucked up the remaining Diamond Meat and stored it in its belly.
If they needed more, Gengar could retrieve it at any time, but preserving its freshness was crucial.
"Sizzle, sizzle..."
The Diamond Meat placed on the iron grill began to emit a sizzling sound.
As time passed, the rich aroma of meat filled the open area. It was fortunate that the Meteor Shower had scared off all the creatures in this vast region.
Otherwise, wild beasts would surely have come to snatch the food after catching a whiff of that scent. Faced with such an aroma that could stir the most primal desires, even humans might not be able to resist, let alone wild beasts.
Even if they knew the gap in strength was too great, they would still charge forward recklessly.
"It's done!"
Before long, the Diamond Meat reached the perfect level of doneness, and Menchi smiled at Akira, who had been waiting patiently.
"Finally ready, huh."
Akira and Menchi sat at the table that had been materialized, silently gazing at the golden, enticing Diamond Meat on the grill. Both of them swallowed their saliva in unison.
Akira gently speared a piece of Diamond Meat with his fork and placed it in his mouth. An unparalleled meaty flavor he had never experienced before spread across his palate.
The incomparable aroma danced on his tongue, and waves of pleasure surged through him. The still-glowing Diamond Meat slid down his esophagus into his stomach, and warm currents spread throughout his body.
Then, Akira body began to shine brightly, just like the Diamond Meat! This was the effect of his surging Aura!
This dish, a true masterpiece, had caused a sudden boost in both Akira's physical condition and his Aura!
The massive increase in Aura caused it to involuntarily leak out, emitting a dazzling light. In the dimness of the night, he looked like a shining star.
As Akira had expected, the Diamond Meat had brought about a tremendous improvement! It truly lived up to its reputation as the top-tier ingredient in the ingredient zone!
The best ingredient in Gourmet Paradise, and arguably the best in all six continents!
Immersed in this warm, pleasurable sensation, Akira continued to eat bite after bite, and his aura grew stronger and stronger!
At this moment, his mind was occupied by only two thoughts: eating and one other thing— This trip to Gourmet Paradise had been an absolute win!
Not only had it satisfied his appetite, but it had also allowed him to rapidly and unconditionally enhance his strength.
.....
"That's it, the Rainbow Fruit!"
Menchi gently plucked the only five fruits from the tree and placed them into a specially designed bag.
After eating the Diamond Meat last night, the two had camped out in the wild, using the portable tent they had brought from the Samok Desert.
Early this morning, they set out to find the second and final target in the forest area, the Rainbow Fruit for dessert!
It sounded similar to the Rainbow Juice they had on the food street, but in reality, the two were completely different.
The Rainbow Juice was just a fancy name, made by juicing seven decent fruits. The Rainbow Fruit, however, was the real deal, with several flavors contained within a single fruit. It was also one of the top-tier ingredients!
Naturally, it wasn't easy to find. The two of them searched both on land and in the air for most of the day before finally discovering it in a small corner.
"Now we can move on to the next area!"
Once again, they mounted Arcanine and raced toward the next region.
The reason they chose Arcanine over Dragonite was to make it easier to collect other ingredients along the way.
Although these ingredients might not be used in the cooking process, they could be taken out and enjoyed later.
Even though they were riding Arcanine, their speed wasn't slow, and it didn't take long for them to reach the wetland area.
The wetland area was quite similar to the forest area, with the main differences being the types of trees and the darker environment, where one could often see murky swamps.
There was only one ingredient to find in the wetland area—the Sauce Star Mushroom. As the name suggested, it was a star-shaped mushroom filled with a delightful sauce.
Unfortunately, their search had just begun when they encountered a group of uninvited guests. With a series of low growls, a swarm of ferocious crocodiles emerged from the swamp.
It seemed endless!
"Black Bay Crocodiles, often hunt in groups, distributed in the wetland area, considered a common ingredient, and can be found in the outside world as well."
"Although their quality is average, they are quite aggressive, so few people bother with them."
Menchi, like an encyclopedia of ingredients, explained to Akira. In her opinion, there was no need to waste time on these crocodiles.
Even though they were surrounded, they could escape by flying out on Dragonite.
"Quite aggressive, huh..."
Akira glanced at the oncoming swarm of crocodiles, their appearance alone indicating they were no pushovers.
Most importantly... there were so many of them!
This would be a great source of experience points!
"Maybe we should..."
Before Menchi could finish her sentence, Akira leaped off Arcanine and faced the large group of approaching crocodiles. A playful smile curled at the corners of his lips as he slightly opened his mouth.
He wanted to try out this technique.
In the past, he had always used close-combat skills, but he hadn't yet tried a long-range attack.
This endless swarm of crocodiles would be the perfect target for his experiment!
A small silver sphere suddenly appeared in Akira mouth, as infinite Aura gathered within it.
It acted like a fuel supplement. The white sphere began to rapidly expand, transforming into a pillar-like shape, and then shot forward as a beam of white light.
The beam, carrying an aura of apocalyptic destruction, took only a moment to form and launch. In an instant, it appeared before a group of bewildered crocodiles.
The previously dim wetland forest was now illuminated by a dazzling white light!
A Normal-type ultimate move—Hyper Beam!!
"Boom!!!"
The overwhelming energy beam was unstoppable, obliterating everything in its path! In a flash, a straight, empty path appeared before the two.
This path seemed to lead to the end of the world, with no end in sight. Akira felt a strange sense of familiarity, as if he had seen this scene somewhere before.
Had he caused a similar commotion back at the Zoldyck family?
Where there had once been a horde of crocodiles, now only scattered remains could be seen.
The brilliant white light, even in broad daylight, caused quite a stir, startling the two girls who were about to reach the wetland. Just one Hyper Beam had earned him a significant amount of experience points!
In a daze, Akira felt as though he had discovered another path. Perhaps targeting powerful, group-dwelling creatures yielded higher rewards?
Of course, finding such creatures on the Six Continents was quite rare. The primary source of experience points still came from Aura Users. But once they reached the Dark Continent, things would be different.
There, bizarre and powerful creatures were abundant, ensuring a steady source of experience.
Menchi, riding Arcanine, approached Akira with a calm expression. Having spent so much time with Akira, she had gradually grown accustomed to his ways.
She couldn't judge Akira by ordinary standards—he was destined to be the strongest in the world!
Menchi had boundless confidence in Akira.
Since he was the strongest, causing such a "minor commotion" was understandable... right?
Perhaps the Sauce Star Mushrooms were truly hard to find, or maybe the two were just unlucky.
After wandering around the wetland area for a long time, they still hadn't found any, though they did come across many other rare ingredients.
"Crash, crash..."
"Hmm?"
Sitting on Arcanine back, Akira turned his head toward the direction of the noise.
The sound of trees being knocked down came from that direction, as if some large creature was approaching. What Akira didn't expect was that the first thing he saw wasn't the anticipated "big creature," but two familiar friends.
Rika and Gel!
Judging by the way they were running, it seemed they were fleeing?
Gel, at the front, caught sight of Akira and Menchi ahead, and a glimmer of hope appeared in her snake-like pupils.
They were saved!
"Akira, help us! We can't handle the thing behind us!"
As soon as she finished speaking, an extremely bizarre creature emerged from behind them.
It was a massive, three-headed serpent, its grotesque appearance enough to make anyone uncomfortable.
A bloodthirsty aura emanated from it, causing nearby creatures to flee in panic.
Akira narrowed his eyes, secretly activating his "En" to carefully assess the three-headed serpent strength.
To his surprise, it had reached the level of an A-class threat!
No wonder Gel, one of the Twelve Zodiacs, was being chased.
In fact, that was only one of the reasons—Gel most relied-upon poison was also significantly less effective against the serpent. That's why she and Rika had no choice but to run.
Fortunately, the two of them saw a glimmer of hope!
Having witnessed Akira actions several times, he had now become the embodiment of "strength" in their eyes.
It seemed that any problem would be effortlessly resolved when faced with him!
