I alone am the Honoured One!-Chapter 702: The Night of the Bloody Invasion - Epilogue [4]
*THOOM* The enormous ark plummeted from the sky and crashed into the battlefield below with an impact that sent tremors through the land.
The ground splintered and cracked beneath its weight.
Debris and metal shrapnel were hurled into the air, spiraling chaotically before being consumed in a detonation of fire and smoke.
And from within the burning wreckage, Ji Shuang stepped out.
She raised her up to look at the skies, and sure enough, they were gone.
The crimson portals that had once painted the sky with their eerie glow had vanished, .
A sharp gust of wind cut through the battlefield.
In the next instant, two figures materialized beside her as they landed gracefully on the scorched earth.
Yan Zijin and Rui Lian.
They knew Ji Shuang is furious.
"Sect Master..." Yan Zijin spoke first, her voice was calm but laced with quiet concern.
Before she could continue, Ji Shuang raised a hand "Zijin, I want you to go to a middle star and check on my father immediately."
Yan Zijin stiffened slightly at the urgency in her voice, but she did not question her orders.
She merely nodded, awaiting further instruction.
Ji Shuang then turned her gaze toward Rui Lian "Lian, gather the Wing Masters and eliminate any remaining vampires and evil cultivators still on this battlefield. I want them dead before the sun rises. No loose ends."
Rui Lian nodded her head "Yes, Sect Master."
Ji Shuang barely spared her another glance before shifting her focus back to the sky and her thoughts once again consumed by the one thing that mattered most.
Zhao Tian and Yao Jing.
"I will go back to the Vampire Star. And I will bring Zhao Tian back."
Yan Zijin’s brows furrowed slightly "The Middle Star..."
Ji Shuang didn’t wait for her to finish.
She took a small beacon from her storage ring as she passed it to Yan Zijin.
"The coordinates are there. Go. Make sure my father is safe."
Yan Zijin gripped the beacon tightly, giving one final nod. "Yes, Sect Master."
The wind howled between them, carrying the last remnants of battle through the air.

And as Yan Zijin and Rui Lian turned to carry out their orders, Ji Shuang took an ark from her storage ring.
"I need to inform this to Her Grace first..."
Getting onto the ark, she quickly went to the control panel and started the ark as she flashed out of the Jade Eclipse Star.
Sitting on the control room, she took a mirror from her storage ring and tried to contact Qian Shi.
But no matter how many times she tried to contact her, she couldn’t.
’What happened...’
...
"Urrr..." A dull, aching throb pulsed through his skull, like a hammer beating against his temples.
Zhao Tian’s consciousness swayed between the murky depths of unconsciousness and the reality.
"Hufff..." His breath was shallow and each inhale dragged against his lungs like shards of broken glass.
"Haa.." His chest rose and fall in ragged intervals as his body struggled to pull itself.
A suffocating pressure surrounded him, constricting his every movement, as the chains restrained even the faintest twitch of his fingers.
His throat was dry and the metallic tang of blood coated his tongue.
For a moment, his mind was blank.. just lost in the torment of pain.
But then, from the depths of his consciousness, a single thought pierced through the haze.
Where… am I?
His body, though battered and broken, began to register the place around him.
The cold bite of metal against his wrists, the rough texture of stone beneath his fingers and the damp, stale air thick with the scent of blood and decay.
Slowly, painfully, his fingers twitched and that was enough to sent a fresh surge of pain racing up his arms.
"URGHH!" His breath hitched as a sharp, searing pain shot through his ribs, forcing a weak, pained groan from his lips.
His white eyelashes stained with blood felt impossibly heavy.
After a bit of effort, he forced his eyes to open and the world that greeted him was a blur.. darkness and faint, flickering light.
A dim, crimson glow illuminated the room, dancing reflections against the damp, cavernous walls.
Chains?
His gaze flickered downward as his muddled vision finally cleared enough to focus.
Thick chains were coiled tightly around his wrists and ankles as each link of the chain pulsed with a crimson glow.
He could feel that his body is very weak and he can’t even feel an ounce of astral energy in his body.
The realization sent a shiver through him, and he tried to move, but the chains did not budge.
His body was too weak.
He clenched his teeth in frustration and pain.
Then, another sound.
A faint, pained murmur.
He turned his head, ignoring the fresh wave of pain that surged through his neck and shoulders as his blurred vision shifted toward the source of the sound.
And there—not far from him, there was Yao Jing.
Her body was barely illuminated by the dim light, but even through the haze of pain, he could see her condition.
Her dark skin was marred with bruises, her short, bob-cut hair disheveled and damp with sweat and blood.
Her body was bound much like his, chains wrapped tightly around her wrists and ankles, pressing her against the cold stone.
Her breathing was labored, each inhale and exhale trembling with barely suppressed pain.

She stirred again and her fingers twitching ever so slightly against the ground.
Her body trembled with the effort and the muscles tensed as pain laced through her every movement.
"Hrghh.." A small, pained whimper escaped her lips as her head lolled to the side.
Her fingers curled slightly and her jaw tightened as she forced herself to move.
Recognition flared in her tired, pain-filled eyes as she looked at him and a faint smile appeared on her lips.
She opened her mouth, perhaps to speak, but only a hoarse, strangled sound emerged.
Zhao Tian exhaled softly, relieved that she is alive.
He slowly moved his painful body as he crawled close to her "Ji..."
