I Am Also An Extraordinary Creature-Chapter 1963 - 1333: All Can Be Cannon Fodder (Part 2)
"Who are you?" Xiyun tried to suppress the panic within him, but he found that the hand he barely lifted was trembling, and his voice carried a slight tremor.
"Don’t go looking for him."
The woman with dusk-colored eyes spoke, and the pressure on Xiyun vanished in an instant, replaced by a comforting feeling of tranquility and time at peace.
The woman before him no longer felt so indifferent.
"He is..." The words Xiyun wanted to say after that wouldn’t come out.
The woman continued, "He has done enough, this is the trial that ’Tianhe’ must bear."
The environment around Xiyun turned dark for a moment, and the woman with dusk-colored eyes disappeared. Coming to his senses, Xiyun revealed an uncomfortable expression.
Facing that predecessor, even after leaving the Thunderstorm Land and losing memory of them, he wouldn’t feel anything amiss.
But facing this woman, losing most of his memory of her made Xiyun particularly uneasy.
Looking again at the photograph in his hand, the sense of familiarity had greatly diminished. The photo depicted a young man with black eyes.
"So the person the senior hates has always been nearby..." Xiyun murmured softly.
He stepped out of his room and outside, near the village, was the Thunderstorm Land.
This was the closest the Thunderstorm Land had ever come to the tribe.
Xiyun understood what was happening. The appearance of the unknown woman had attracted the predecessor of the Thunderstorm Land.
But looking at the photo in his hand, Xiyun found no reasonable excuse to disturb that predecessor again.
He even felt a strong urge to leave, but quickly suppressed this feeling.
After dawn, the people of the tribe were enthusiastically discussing the happenings of the Thunderstorm Land, as it was a record-breaking proximity and naturally became the hot topic of the day.
Some divine craftsmen here joined in the usual discussions, talking about the feasibility of certain tests, when they found out how Xiyun’s weapon was made, feeling it was quite unbelievable.
Using thunder from the Thunderstorm Land to quench a proper gun barrel? It sounded quite incredible.
Now with the Thunderstorm Land so close, some were eager to approach it to try and harness some of the thunderstorm’s strength for crafting weapons.
However, this topic didn’t last long. By noon, everyone was back to their own tasks.
The Thunderstorm Land was recorded as ’harmless’, and even at such a close range, few were concerned, mostly finding it a bit noisy.
Even from the perspective of other tribes on Tianyun Mountain, the approach of the Thunderstorm Land seemed more like an auspicious omen.
For the rest of the time, the people here were mostly engaged in activities surrounding the Earth Fire Furnace.
A functioning Earth Fire Furnace was always bustling with activity, enabling the completion of theories accumulated by the divine craftsmen.
The most direct beneficiaries were, of course, Xiyun’s tribe.
The inferior products forged by the divine craftsmen, considered rare treasures elsewhere, were readily accepted by the tribe when discarded by the divine craftsmen.
While Tianyun Mountain was peaceful, other parts of the continent were undercurrents.
Hu Fu, who had been living well here, left a few days ago due to many incidents on the continent, with the influx of outer heaven falling objects changing the landscape.
Previously, some issues were not evident, but as these objects increased and many forces acquired them, hidden dangers began to surface.
Over time, some forces that obtained these objects successfully analyzed them, significantly increasing their power.
Ambitious figures began emerging from various quarters.
Wars erupted between kingdoms and major forces, and as chaos blazed, many things could no longer be contained.
Some weren’t keen on fighting, but as other forces acted, they too found themselves compelled to join in.
For instance, a force that had just analyzed an outer heaven object, quickly learned their rival had also obtained one, and it was more potent, posing a threat of annihilation upon successful analysis.
Thus, rival forces were naturally inclined to strike first and eliminate their opponents!
The abundance of outer heaven objects meant no one wished to develop quietly, and anyone could seize an opportunity to rise.
These objects were akin to blind boxes; until analyzed, no one knew what kind of technology they contained.
The academy was also affected by this chaos. Vice Principal Hu Fu had to leave Xiyun’s tribe ahead of schedule, yet Hu Dongmen remained as an observer of the Thunderstorm Land and... a teacher.
Though Hu Fu left, some staff he brought along stayed behind.
They served as teachers here, educating the young tribe members, the reason for not returning to the academy being clear.
With chaos rampant on the continent, it was the same whether they returned to the academy. Here, they could study more peacefully.
This situation was akin to offering special lessons, and Xiyun didn’t object. If the academy really encountered troubles due to the chaos, he knew this place would serve as a shelter.
As for the chaos on the continent, Xiyun had no intention of intervening.
It was caused by the outer heaven objects, and amid the fierce Tianhe War, more would continue to fall; what good would it do if he intervened? 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
His warship’s intellect had already created an analytical model of the events on the continent.
This chaos was also an opportunity. After the chaos, if someone could unify the planet and integrate the technologies, the planet could gain the potential to join the Hundred Clans.
Given the numerous fallen warships, the Hundred Clans’ warships were technological crystals. Absorbing these technologies would lay the foundation for Hundred Clans qualifications.
However, this was an ideal scenario. A less ideal scenario involved people not fully mastering the technology and misusing Hundred Clans’ whale fall technology, potentially triggering a mass extinction crisis on the planet’s surface.
The less ideal scenario was more likely!
However, according to the intellect’s analysis, these scenarios would only unfold decades later; despite much debris around, it wouldn’t trigger a mass extinction crisis anytime soon.
The biggest issue was the forced conscription by the Hundred Clans.
When the Hundred Clans came for conscription, they wouldn’t need to disguise much for the planet’s natives, nor recover those warship remnants for repair.
The utilization and repair of those remnants by the natives would then lead to the conscription of a hybrid ’Hundred Clans Fleet’, with no cost to the conscripting Hundred Clans, who could easily acquire enough cannon fodder.
Whether or not the natives would cooperate was not something they could decide.
Xiyun’s warship had its permissions and the Hundred Clans agreement reset, so there was no backdoor issue, unlike other fallen warships.
No matter how well the natives used them now, they would falter when faced with genuine Hundred Clans.
Therefore, the chaos surrounding the outer heaven objects on the continent didn’t require excessive concern; what needed worrying about was the conscription problem by the Hundred Clans.
When Hu Fu left, Xiyun specifically discussed this matter with him, and Hu Fu took it very seriously, but... was also helpless!
He understood the continent’s situation more clearly, and even spreading the news of the Hundred Clans conscription wouldn’t alter the current situation; on the contrary, it would incite different forces to more desperately seize the outer heaven objects.
Returning to the academy, Hu Fu’s heart skipped a beat upon seeing a warship lingering in the sky.
Before returning, Xiyun had discussed the Hundred Clans conscription with him. Now, seeing the Heavenly Person Battleship, and a not insignificantly sized one at that, Hu Fu felt even more uneasy.
In their past encounters with the Heavenly Persons, there hadn’t been many warships, mostly transports, and now came one of this scale...it wasn’t a good sign at all.
