Chapter 68: Woke Up and Run

Raphael originally intended to insist on chasing Dragon God away somewhere else, but he could also see that she would never agree to it. So that’s why he gave her a ’way out’ that was barely good enough to invite her to back down.

"You can find them and fight as many times as you want. Fight until you’re about to die, then stop. Consider it a kind of trampling or torture if you want. Of course, if you don’t agree, then I’ll have no choice but to kill you."

He pointed the tip of his sword at her. It was clearly a deliberate compromise, but he acted as if he were the one with the most decision-making power here.

He didn’t know how many of her subordinates were at the demigod level, but there must be at least three such existences for her to be that confident. So Raphael also didn’t want to escalate the tension with her too much.

Moreover, in some strange way, he believed that if she just beat up Leo a few more times, the relationship between the two sides would become close.

Who knows? In the future they might even be allies so close they couldn’t be closer.

Having someone point a sword at her face like that, Dragon God also felt a bit annoyed, but she was more interested in Raphael’s proposal.

Thinking it over, the chance to torment Martial God and Slaughter God many times wasn’t unacceptable. The matter of the dragon race going extinct, these two gods had a lot to do with it, but it wasn’t actually the main cause. Furthermore, wanting to permanently end a god’s existence forever isn’t easy at all.

Dragon God was also born from this world, so of course she couldn’t destroy the world to seek justice for herself. It wasn’t that she was noble or loved all living things, she just thought the act of ’smashing’ an entire continent was extremely stupid.

"When they recover, I’ll come again, you don’t have the right to stop me. Moreover, when I say they’ve recovered, that means they’ve recovered, what you say doesn’t count."

Raphael immediately frowned. This kind of domineering and unreasonable talk was something he couldn’t accept. Just as he was about to object, she cut him off.

"Relax, I’m not unreasonable. I won’t fight two people who are half-dead."

Having said that, she turned and walked into the forest, and the Seven-Hued Celestial Dragon Spear disappeared along with her. She also didn’t transform back into her human form because her current state had a much higher recovery speed.

Leo and Michael were also in a similar situation. Even if they were unconscious, they wouldn’t return to their human form unless the remaining energy in their current body was zero.

Moreover, while unconscious, energy could automatically recover. A god’s physique was not something a human could compare to.

Raphael looked at the two kids lying half-dead on the ground, still not transformed back to their human forms, and wasn’t too surprised.

He didn’t plan to carry them back because he was afraid that just a slight shake would make Leo and Michael’s current bones fall apart. Leaving them lying here was fine, anyway there were no large predators nearby.

Another reason was that he wasn’t very good at taking care of others either. When Leo was a baby, he never got hurt, plus he was excessively easy to raise. Moreover, no matter how he got hurt, Leo had always handled it himself, so Raphael really never had a chance to do anything.

"Well... Should I help them out a bit?"

Raphael paused for a moment and then looked at the large leaves nearby. He picked them all down to create a ’perfect camouflage layer’ for Leo and Michael.

He camouflaged them so perfectly that now you could only see two piles of leaves and no people at all. The gaps between the leaves were quite large, so there should be enough air for the two of them to breathe... Probably. Anyway, gods shouldn’t die easily.

Dragon God also hadn’t gone far. She was just wandering around the nearby area waiting when she saw this strange sight.

"What kind of weird operation is this? Building a grave out of leaves? Really can’t understand human thinking."

She just shook her head once and then stopped paying attention to it. Anyway, this level still couldn’t kill the two of them, so it wasn’t a big problem.

---

Michael lay on his back on the ground like that, unconscious for over a day. It was only now that his nervous system had a bit of a reaction to the current situation.

"F*ck! Why did that damn old man dump this pile of leaves on me?"

Just opening his eyes and he was already cursing because of this suffocating feeling. He brushed off all the leaves and dust stuck to him, then stood up. His expression didn’t seem too surprised. He knew clearly that in that situation, only Raphael could have saved him and Leo.

Looking around, he saw another pile of leaves pretty similar to his own. He didn’t even need to use his domain to know Leo was sleeping in there.

"Damn, what was he trying to do? This kind of camouflage is way too slapdash."

The corner of his mouth twitched when he saw the ’masterpiece’ Raphael had made in a hurry. This thing... He didn’t know if it worked on animals or not, but any human coming close would feel like there was something suspicious inside.

Suddenly his face contorted, the pain in his body, though much less, was still extremely uncomfortable. But luckily, the injuries weren’t serious anymore, now just a bit of pain was the only problem.

"I wonder what Raphael did with Dragon God? Killed her or let her go? Really gives me a headache... I passed out too early, so I don’t know what happened after that."

Michael held his head and winced. He tried to remember but couldn’t recall anything related to how that mess ended.

Suddenly, he felt a cold gust of wind by his ear. Something long, shimmering, and sharp tore through the air, grazing past and cutting off a few strands of his hair.

"Ha ha ha ha... You’re awake, huh? Come here, bastard. Let’s continue what we left unfinished."

The piercing laugh, like the roar of a wild beast, came from behind him, sending a chill down Michael’s spine.

"F*ck you!"

Michael didn’t even turn his head to look back even once. He immediately used domain expansion and teleported repeatedly forward.
