Chapter 71: Negotiation with Dragon God

While Michael was doing his best to escape, Dragon God just calmly walked to where Leo was lying and sat waiting under a tree.

After waiting for a few hours, sounds started coming from inside the pile of leaves. A furry, chubby panda arm reached out, pushing all the leaves away to the sides.

Leo had just opened his eyes, hadn’t even had time to use his domain yet, and was already stunned when he saw Dragon God right in front of him.

He immediately jumped up, energy quickly covering his arms. His eyes weren’t sleepy at all but were full of the spirit of being ready to fight at any moment.

"Sit down."

Dragon God opened her eyes to look at him and then calmly said a word. The feeling she gave off now wasn’t the same as the crazy person from before who just held a spear and stabbed wildly.

Leo frowned, suspicious, but felt sitting down wasn’t a big problem, so he did as she said. Besides, he felt this was the real chance to talk properly.

"You told that human not to kill me... So you need me to do something, right?"

Leo was dumbfounded, never thought Dragon God had such a smart side. He thought she was the type of muscle-bound brute who only used brawn without needing a brain.

"Right. I really do need your strength. And don’t open your mouth calling others ’human’. You, me, and Michael right now, we’re all more human than gods."

He nodded while also not hiding his goal. He wanted her strength, he wanted an existence with a god’s potential to join him in pursuing his ideals.

"Fine, just changing the way I talk isn’t that hard. But about you wanting me to help you... So what can you give me?"

Dragon God had lived long, but not long enough to actually become stupid. She could help others for free, but only if she was happy. If not, she definitely had to negotiate terms of exchange, both sides helping each other.

"Of course I can’t just drag you into taking risks with me for nothing, even though I know aside from gods, no one can kill you."

Leo nodded and then seriously thought about what kind of condition he should offer her, while also transforming back into his human form. If the condition was something like standing still every day so she could stab a hole in him with her spear, then no. A condition like that, no matter how you look at it, the harm outweighs the benefit.

Taking note of her identity and remembering the extinction of the dragon race, a crazy thought suddenly flashed in his mind.

He wasn’t sure if what he was thinking was feasible in the short term, but in the distant future, tens of thousands of years from now, it could probably become a reality.

Dragon God saw Leo using his human form, so she also transformed back into her little girl form. Her old wound wasn’t a problem anymore, so she didn’t really need quick healing.

"Judging by your expression... It looks like you actually have some kind of condition, huh? Let me hear it."

The more she thought about it, the more curious she became, because she herself wasn’t really sure what kind of condition could possibly move her.

"What if I said humanity could help the dragon race appear once again?"

Dragon God’s eyes widened and she immediately grabbed Leo’s illusory collar, lifting him up. She shouted right in his face, spittle flying everywhere.

"What?! What did you just say?"

Leo immediately grabbed her hand while pushing her face away. He felt it was a bit weird that her breath was really fragrant, like some kind of herbal medicine smell, but this wasn’t something to think about right now.

"Calm down, calm down. Think about why the dragon race went extinct. Then look at humanity’s infinite potential. You yourself right now are more like a human than a god."

Dragon God frowned and then let Leo go. The inside story of the dragon race’s extinction, she understood it better than anyone. There were many parties involved, but the core influence was still because of humanity’s existence.

Humanity back then, although gods existed, their overall strength was too weak. But now, the situation is definitely very different. Human civilization has progressed, and along with that, their strength has also increased significantly.

The more she thought about it, the more it made sense. Her breathing immediately became more rapid, but she forcefully calmed herself down.

What the hell did humanity’s general development have to do with Leo himself? Was it like without him, humanity would regress? So she wanted to hear a more detailed plan from him before making a decision.

"Be more specific."

Seeing that she was interested, Leo breathed a sigh of relief inside. Now the next step, which was no less difficult, was to say it in a way that made her believe him.

Right at this moment, he really wished Michael was beside him to speak for him. The world Michael used to live in before had many strange things that he temporarily couldn’t understand, so Michael could make up more stories than he could.

Time was pressing, Leo could only say whatever came to mind. Just make it up in a way that sounded as credible as possible.

"You know it already, the dragon race went extinct for that reason. Humanity’s potential, as you’ve seen, is limitless. The dragon race, no matter what, are still creatures belonging to this world. One day, humanity will use the very things in this world to make them appear once again."

"But this is humanity’s capability, not yours alone."

Although Leo spoke quite convincingly, Dragon God wasn’t someone who didn’t understand language. In Leo’s words, she didn’t see a significant presence of himself.

"This is where what I want to do comes in..."

Leo smiled, reaching his hand out forward in a gesture of invitation.

"I want you to help me become the king of this world. In return, later on, I will use humanity’s power to help resurrect the dragon race."

He stood up straight, his words were calm but radiated infinite confidence, as if that future was already within his hand.

Dragon God was stunned for a second, then the corner of her mouth twitched. Veins bulged on her forehead, her gaze turning hostile as she looked at Leo.
