I Am in Marvel with Unlimited Cards-Chapter 637: IMUC - 629 The Power of the Dark Dimension
Chapter 637 - IMUC Chapter 629 The Power of the Dark Dimension
Faced with the imminent detonation of the descending nuclear bomb, the Ancient One finally sprang into action. She spread her arms wide, weaving an intricate spell as her eyes darkened.
A chilling, otherworldly power radiated from her, a force that surpassed anything Earth could muster— it felt akin to the Infinity Stones, infused with the profound, unfathomable laws of the cosmos.
"This... this can't be real!" Tony's soul trembled, his gaze locked on the Ancient One as she rose on a floating platform.
The virtual landscape of New York City morphed into a colossal Cube, its buildings and streets twisting into intricate grids, reshaped by an unseen hand. Countless structures sank into the ground, replaced by mirrored constructs from the Mirror Dimension.
The towering edifices wove themselves into a massive net, rising to envelop the descending nuclear missile.
One sorcerer, one city— standing against the pinnacle of Earth's technological weaponry.
This was the ultimate clash of magic and technology, a sight so awe-inspiring that it defied description. It was a moment destined to be etched into the memories of all who witnessed it, even decades into the future.
Then came the explosion.
The nuke detonated within the layered web of skyscrapers, the blast obliterating the surrounding structures from the inside out.
Standing firm on her floating platform, the Ancient One remained expressionless. The dark energy in her eyes seeped faintly to the corners, but she raised her hands once more. Before the devastating shockwave— capable of leveling most of New York— could expand outward, it was contained again within a new spatial construct.
Buildings crumbled, and the space distorted repeatedly. Yet, by the time the last trace of smoke from the nuclear detonation faded, New York had returned to its calm, unchanged state.
Other than the ruins of the Stark Industries headquarters, the rest of the city's streets and structures were miraculously intact.
Tony's soul hovered in the air, looking stunned. He stared at the Ancient One on her floating platform, then at the untouched cityscape that had endured a nuclear strike.
He wasn't alone in his astonishment. Outside in the arena, on the livestream broadcast to countless viewers, every person who had witnessed this breathtaking scene was equally speechless.
The nuke had been neutralized... completely.
It was nothing short of miraculous.
To achieve such a feat— this was no longer merely the work of a Sorcerer. It bordered on divine intervention.
No participant or spectator cheered or applauded. They simply watched in silence, their gazes fixed on the Ancient One, cloaked in her yellow robes.
This battle was destined to go down in history as the Ancient One's ascension to godhood. No one could doubt that now.
...
Within the virtual New York City:
Bathed in sunlight, the Ancient One's darkened eyes returned to normal. She looked down at Tony's soul and calmly asked: "Shall we continue?"
"Continue what..." Tony's soul floated upward to join her and he spoke with a bitter smile on his face.
"Even our ultimate card, the one we staked everything on, was effortlessly neutralized by you. This match... there's no point in continuing. We've lost— completely and utterly."
He shrugged, his tone tinged with resignation.
"Unless my 'Godfather' steps in, I can't think of any way to defeat you. The gap between us is simply too vast."
The Ancient One shook her head, her gaze steady.
"It's not as one-sided as you think. My victory wasn't an easy one," She said softly. "In this match, I saw your determination. And for that, I'm genuinely pleased. Earth is fortunate to have heroes like you who can protect it."
Her voice grew quieter, almost a whisper meant only for herself.
"One day, even if I'm no longer here, you'll be ready to take up the mantle of Earth's guardians."
With Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Black Panther's strategy failing, the three admitted defeat in the virtual space. The epic clash of magic versus technology ended with the victory of the Ancient One, Mordo, and Doctor Strange.
When the Ancient One's team returned to the arena, they were met with deafening applause and cheers.
Words like "brilliant" or "spectacular" couldn't do justice to the battle that had just unfolded. It had been an education for humanity, a lesson on the supremacy of magic.
For ten long seconds, the applause and cheers roared across the arena. Only when they subsided did Kyle's massive holographic projection reappear above the battlefield.
"What an unforgettable match," Kyle said with heartfelt admiration.
He hadn't expected Tony to rediscover the core of Iron Man and stake everything on his resolve. But what surprised him even more was the Ancient One's willingness to reveal the hidden depths of her power— power she had long kept concealed.
"Ancient One," Kyle continued, his tone thoughtful, "I eagerly look forward to our duel."
The Ancient One responded with a serene smile.
No matter the occasion, she always carried the air of a half-divine being, never letting her emotions show.
"Now there's no need for excessive chatter. Let's proceed directly to the second match of the team tournament. God, please handle the draw for this round," Kyle declared before his hologram faded away.
Moments later, God's lottery panel appeared, its spinning wheel whirring at high speed. Finally, the pointer stopped at Team 2.
Team 2 (Blue Team): Lucy, Raina, and Scarlet Witch (Wanda).
A collective gasp rippled through the audience, followed by an overwhelming wave of cheers.
The first match had already introduced a "Death Group," but now there was another one? Although Team 2 consisted of three stunning women, everyone familiar with the tournament knew the truth: all three hailed from Carl's nation and ranked securely within the top eight in terms of strength.
This was truly a team of death.
And now, time to see the next group of victims.
As the wheel spun again, the pointer finally landed on Team 11 (Red Team).
Team 11 (Red Team): Black One, Black Two, Black Three.
The names were clearly codenames, and the attention of participants and spectators alike shifted toward the corner of the arena. There stood three mysterious individuals draped in black cloaks, their faces obscured.
"Hmph. Soon, you'll see power equal to that of the Ancient One!" The leader, Black One, narrowed his eyes. His cold, piercing gaze swept toward Lucy, Raina, and Wanda from beneath his hood.
Noticing Team 11, the Ancient One furrowed her brows slightly.
Sensing her unease, Mordo stepped closer and whispered, "What's wrong, Sorcerer Supreme?"
"Nothing," The Ancient One replied, shaking her head and retracting her gaze. "Pay attention to the second match."
"Understood." Though unsure of the cause, both Mordo and Doctor Strange nodded solemnly.
...
From the Watchtower:
"Boss, the three members of Team 11 seem... peculiar," Logan said cautiously.
"Indeed. I noticed it earlier— they carry the aura of the Dark Dimension," Kyle responded with a calm smile. How could he forget the power of the Dark Dimension? After all, the clone of Superman had once suffered from its influence.
"The Dark Dimension?" Logan's face revealed a hint of concern. "Should we cancel the match?"
The battle's virtual space was a combination of the Mirror Dimension and advanced virtual reality technology. If interference from another dimension occurred, it could lead to direct attacks on Lucy and her team...
"Don't worry. So what if it's the Dark Dimension? You're underestimating Lucy and her team," Kyle said with a chuckle, unconcerned.
"Lucy, Raina, and Wanda?"
"That combination?" Kyle's smile widened. "Forget pawns of the Dark Dimension— even their true master would have a hard time handling them!"
