I Am Not A Goblin Slayer-Chapter 464 - 270
Gauss encounters goblins the most throughout the day.
He doesn’t feel any fatigue regarding this.
To him, goblins, aside from their old talking points, are relatively effortless to slay.
Recently, as the number of goblins he has slain has increased.
The second title effect of [Goblin Slaughterer]: bloodthirsty, slaying goblins and related advanced species creatures has a chance to recover 3% of stamina.
The recovery rate quietly improved from the original 2% to 3%.
Although it still seems insignificant, considering the large number of goblins, along with the fact that goblin slaying is relatively effortless for him due to the [Star Destruction] effect bonus.
This makes the work even more comfortable and efficient.
"Total monster kills: 5837"
At the end of the day, about two hundred monsters were slain.
This essentially cleared the monster groups around the village.
If you want to find monsters again, you probably have to go further away.
But that’s a matter for later. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Gauss looked at the setting sun, leading the team back to the village.
And casually hunted some prey along the way.
As night fell.
The orange firelight gradually rose, driving away the darkness.
Today is a special day.
Just this afternoon, the last section of the village’s protective fence was completed, marking the completion of the entire village.
To celebrate this special day, the village chief Bruno decided to hold a simple celebration.
On the village square, the large and small bonfires added a festive flavor to an otherwise ordinary night.
The villagers, who had been looking tired from days of rush work and labor, put on clean clothes and smiled.
Some appeared as families, with wives and children gathered around, looking at the now transformed village, with unspeakable pride in their flickering eyes.
Even a few decent stalls selling homemade food popped up in the square.
Apart from villagers and Gauss’ team, some traveling merchants were also in the square.
They happened to pass by this place, drawn by the vitality of the newly established settlement.
The air was filled with the aroma of roasted meat and the scent of wine.
The drink, purchased from traveling merchants, was a sweet wine fermented from fruits.
Children chased and played around the bonfire, their laughter crisp.
Though they might not understand the emotions of adults, they could sincerely feel the joy of the celebration.
Bruno stood beside Gauss, his face reddened by the firelight.
It was unknown whether it was due to excitement or having had some drinks.
When most of the villagers were present, he stepped forward, attracting everyone’s attention.
"Everyone! Today, we stand here, on the land we have built ourselves! Days ago, there were only broken huts and fear here; we did not know whether monsters or bandits would come first."
"But now, look around us."
He spread his arms, pointing to the sturdy housing, tall watchtowers, and reassuring strong fences.
"None of this is possible without our sweat, and most importantly, without Lord Gauss, Ying, Serdur, and Lady Aaliyah."
He turned to Gauss’ team and deeply bowed.
"These honored ones drove away the bandits, cleared the surrounding monsters, and gave us new life and hope to survive in this barren land. This kindness will never be forgotten by our villagers."
The villagers spontaneously applauded, their gaze focused on Gauss and the others, eyes filled with gratitude and respect.
Especially those rescued by Gauss from the mountains, now integrated into the village, their eyes were red, secretly wiping away tears.
The arrival of Gauss and the others indeed changed many lives.
Aaliyah, feeling slightly embarrassed with so much attention, bowed her head, her lips subtly curved upward.
Ying stood quietly in the shadows, but his tense lips softened slightly.
Serdur looked towards Gauss, signaling him as the team leader, it was appropriate to say a few words in such a scene.
Gauss hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward.
Honestly, he’s not very good at handling such scenes.
But with the atmosphere as it is now, as one of the protagonists, not saying something seemed otherwise.
Cleared his throat.
"Chief Bruno overestimates us; we merely made a trivial contribution. We are pleased with the village’s current scale. Tonight’s celebration is not an end; I hope you all always remember the courage when you swung your weapon for the first time, and support one another, protecting the village with your own strength, building this into a prosperous home."
"May this bonfire forever illuminate your path." He took the wine cup from Bruno, lifting it toward the crowd.
"To the village, cheers!"
Soon, cheers echoed from the crowd.
After the simple speech, the celebration quickly began.
Some villagers sang and danced around the bonfire.
Bruno led Gauss and others to the center of the village.
Gauss had actually noticed.
This object covered with black cloth.
No intention to keep it mysterious, Bruno and several other villagers pulled open the cloth.
The rough cloth slid off, revealing a wooden statue to everyone.
The statue wasn’t detailed.
But you could still clearly see the statues on the base, representing the standing figures of the four of Gauss, comparable in height and body shape.
