Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Holy Envoy

Zhang Tai asked, "Did you bring Dr. Liou’s letter?"

"It’s right here." Su Ze took out the letter and handed it over.

Zhang Tai read it carefully, nodding repeatedly. "We owe this all to you. Without this letter, we would have been at a great disadvantage."

"It’s what I should do as someone from Dongli. Besides, I’m also trying to save my sister."

"Your sister?"

"That’s right. Dr. Liou is my sister. We’re on the same household register."

Zhang Tai chuckled, at a loss for words. He already knew the whole story behind the situation.

Su Ze asked, "Mr. Zhang, do you think Mr. Gu and the others will be able to rescue my sister today? Will Luofan Country let her go?"

"That’s hard to say." Zhang Tai shook his head and said pointedly, "Whether they release her or not isn’t up to Luofan Country, and it isn’t up to us either."

Su Ze’s eyelid twitched. He said in shock, "Don’t tell me it’s..."

Zhang Tai nodded.

Su Ze suddenly understood why Dongli Kingdom had sent three Saint-level Overlords to demand her release. The whole point was to escalate the situation.

A conflict involving several Saint-level Overlords—one that could even erupt into a war between the two nations’ Overlords—was something the Sovereign Country couldn’t possibly ignore. They would be certain to step in and take control.

Zhang Tai patted Su Ze’s shoulder reassuringly. "Don’t worry. With this letter, we have the upper hand. As long as the Sovereign Country doesn’t side with Luofan Country, they’ll have no reason not to release her."

RUMBLE!

A deafening sonic boom drew everyone’s attention. A streak of green light shot across the sky, stopping in front of the three Overlords from Dongli Kingdom.

The green light faded, revealing the figures of two men. The surrounding citizens of Luofan erupted in cheers, their excitement palpable.

Of the two arrivals, one was an old man with a full, bushy beard. His iconic white hair and beard allowed Su Ze to recognize him at a glance: Budi, the Speaker of Luofan Country’s parliament.

The other was another of Luofan Country’s Saint-level Overlords, a familiar face from television.

Su Ze breathed a sigh of relief that Ye Muni hadn’t come. It seemed that as a newly-ascended Saint-level, Ye Muni’s power was still a bit lacking for an occasion like this.

Budi looked at the three Overlords from Dongli Kingdom and said in a heavy voice, "The three of you have trespassed on Luofan Country’s territory. You owe me an explanation."

Gu Chengguang, President of the Li Min Association, said calmly, "Luofan Country has illegally imprisoned a citizen of our Dongli Kingdom. You owe us an explanation as well."

Just then, another person flew out from Luofan Academy. It was Amida, the Dean of the academy. The old coot had been holed up inside the school, refusing to show his face while the three Overlords were at his gates. He was only willing to appear now that his allies had arrived.

Amida laughed. "Mr. Gu, wherever did you hear such a rumor?"

Dongli’s General, Li Fayi, snorted coldly. "We’ll know if it’s a rumor once we investigate. Do you dare open the gates of Luofan Academy?"

Amida’s expression darkened as well. "Luofan Academy is a vital center of learning for our nation. It holds many of our country’s secrets. How could we possibly open it to outsiders based on your baseless accusations?"

Budi added a warning of his own. "All three of you, leave the territory of Luofan Country at once. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to expel you ourselves!"

Gu Chengguang drew himself up to his full height, his voice steady but his tone resolute. "We will not leave until you hand over the citizen you’ve imprisoned. Do not underestimate our resolve to protect every single citizen of Dongli Kingdom."

"Are you sure you won’t leave?"

The three Overlords from Luofan Country unleashed their auras. The pressure from these superior lifeforms forced all the onlookers to unconsciously step back.

Su Ze and Mr. Ya also retreated hastily. Zhang Tai, however, stood his ground firmly. It was clear his strength was not to be underestimated; he had to be a Butterfly Stage expert.

Facing the pressure from the three Luofan Country Overlords, the trio from Dongli Kingdom did not yield an inch. They even took a step forward, unleashing their own auras in a direct confrontation.

The situation instantly became tense. A great battle seemed to be on the verge of erupting.

Mr. Ya sidled up to Su Ze and said excitedly, "Boss, my stream’s popularity just hit a new high! My follower count is exploding!"

It was only natural for the stream’s popularity to be high when broadcasting such a major event.

Seeing Su Ze ignore him, Mr. Ya emphasized, "Boss, I’ve gained ten thousand followers in just this short time!"

"Oh, impressive." Su Ze gave a perfunctory nod and said, "And in that same short time, I gained a new ’uncle’—that guy right there, President Gu Chengguang’s secretary."

Mr. Ya: ...

Although the Saint-level Overlords on both sides were at daggers drawn, Su Ze knew a fight was unlikely to break out, because neither side was willing to be the one to strike first.

Just then, the screen of the phone Mr. Ya was using to livestream suddenly went black. It wasn’t just him; the same thing happened to everyone around them.

Those who were recording, taking pictures, or live streaming were all forced to stop.

"What’s going on? I just bought this phone!" Mr. Ya was frantic, scratching his head in confusion. He turned around only to find that everyone else was in the same boat.

Everyone understood. It couldn’t be a coincidence. It was definitely deliberate interference; someone didn’t want what was about to happen here to be broadcast.

Suddenly, the six Saint-level Overlords in the sky all took a step back in unison, turning to face the same direction. There, a person materialized out of thin air.

Su Ze’s pupils contracted as he stared at the person who had suddenly appeared, their form shrouded in a cyan halo, their features indistinct.

’The cyan light of evolution... a five-time evolved Saint-level Supreme Being!’

’Someone from the Sovereign Country?’ Su Ze thought.

The cyan figure didn’t deliberately release any oppressive aura, yet the absolute suppression from their higher plane of existence still made everyone present fall involuntarily silent, not even daring to breathe too loudly.

Even Zhang Tai retreated to Su Ze’s side.

Everyone in the crowd silently wondered about the cyan figure’s identity, but no one dared to speak their theories aloud.

The six Saint-level Overlords all bowed to the cyan figure in unison, saying respectfully, "Holy Envoy."

The six of them were not the least bit surprised by the appearance of this Saint-level Supreme Being. In fact, one could say they had all been waiting for him to appear.

The cyan figure turned his head toward the three Overlords from Dongli Kingdom, and an ancient voice emerged. "You have overstepped."

Gu Chengguang said, "Holy Envoy, Luofan Country has forcibly detained and imprisoned our Dongli evolutionist, Dr. Liou Wenxin, and Dongli citizen, Ms. Sun Xiayun. We have intruded into Luofan for no other reason than to ensure our people can return home safely. We ask for the Holy Envoy’s understanding."

This was also the first time Su Ze learned that Mrs. Yun’s full name was Sun Xiayun.

The cyan figure looked at Budi and asked, "Is this true?"

Budi said, "I have not heard of such a matter, nor do I know where Mr. Gu heard this news."

The cyan figure asked Gu Chengguang again, "Do you have proof?"

Everyone’s gaze focused on Gu Chengguang.

If he had no proof and had mobilized such a force based on mere speculation or rumor—sending three Saint-level Overlords to storm Luofan Country and nearly inciting a war between Saints—it would be a blatant defiance of the Sovereign Country’s will.

If they went too far, the Sovereign Country would naturally discipline Dongli Kingdom.

Gu Chengguang nodded slightly. "Of course, we have proof."

Then, he looked down at Zhang Tai and beckoned slightly. The letter in Zhang Tai’s hand flew up into Gu Chengguang’s grasp.
