I Am The Only Witch Hunter-Chapter 349: Damianos
There was only one Master left, Basilus Adracius, the lone knight of the old empire. He was similar to Kynidus, a third-rank swords master. Regulus was lower than the two other Masters, but after the encounter with Siderius, they were on the same level.
In Siderius' opinion, Regulus had much more potential than Kynidus. His style was simply better and had a higher concept. Regulus was also more talented. The man created his own style, while Kynidus learned one.
Siderius and Ashe went on the long road again. This time was to reach the ancient ruin of the north.
The north of Everia was even colder than the north of Eldoria. People called it the land of snow. It was covered in snow throughout the years. The only time it had sunlight was the single day of July 7th.
"If I remember correctly, Wamsylvania was also near the north of Everia." Siderius thought to himself.
Wamsylvania was where Eli once travelled to. It was where he acquired the tasty silk paper that Siderius had tasted before.
The road leading to the North was barren and empty.
Siderius and Ashe occasionally met some travelers on the road to Regulus and Kynidus. But they didn't spot a single soul for days on the road to the north.
The scenery slowly changed. The barren land was filled with white snow and the air was as cold and dry as cut stone.
Ashe shivered gently, she covered herself in her panther cloak. "There is more snow than even our Snowfell, Master."
Siderius nodded. In his eyes, he spotted his fate reaching out to this land and connected with it.
Something had happened. The enormous amount of Light Aether had changed something. Something crucial to Snow's life.
Siderius couldn't help but sigh. This was always the side effect of leaning onto the good side of Fate.
Fate ruled the past, the present, and the future. But your life could change in an instance if your Fate was high enough. It would directly change your past.
But Fate was very cunning and sneaky. If you didn't know how Fate operated, you would only think that it was always like that. Not that it was changed.
"Is there something wrong, my lord?" Ashe said.
"Light Aether connected me to this land. I have some unfinished business here."
"What do you mean, Master? What would happen?"
"I don't know. It is not a bad thing. But I just don't like it when I don't know something."
Snow had no one. That's the reason why Siderius had chosen him.
Siderius gained blessings of the world every time he got rid of the infected witches. He gained a lot of blessings by helping that god with the title Outsider. He had also received blessings from the forest.
That was enough to change the life of someone. Snow might not be a mere commoner anymore.
"My identity will be shaken soon, Ashe."
Ashe nodded in confusion. She didn't understand much but she noted down for future studying. She had developed this kind of habit since the beginning of her Truth-Seeking Path.
They went past a knight on the snowy road. It was a rare female knight. She had white hair similar to Siderius but not pure white. Her hair had a hint of grey that made it the ghost grey color.
She rode a strong horse, no worse than red. She had a prisoner behind her that she led by a long rope. The man wore tattered clothes and his hair was also white. It was a different shade of white from Siderius and that knight. His was silver white.
They went past each other without saying anything. Ashe looked at the female knight, they exchanged a glance and a nod together before continuing on their path.
That female knight was strong. Not as strong as Kynidus, or Regulus after ascension. But she was for sure a Forge of Flame Sword Master.
Everyone thought that nothing was going to happen. Everyone except Siderius.
The prisoner looked to Siderius and Ashe. His face was unimaginably handsome. The only one that could compare to him was Siderius. But he was wearing a mask right now so no one could see.
"Help me..." The man said harshly. His throat sounded like he hadn't drunk a drop of water for days. His right hand was cut.
The female knight pulled the prisoner, "Keep going."
Siderius suddenly stopped.
The female knight turned to him. "Keep going friend. You do not want this fight."
Siderius jumped off the horse and faced the female knight. "I'd have. If he was a stranger."
The prisoner widened his eyes.
The female knight gritted her teeth. "You know him?"
Siderius shook his head, "No. But my friend does. He is Quinlan of House Carlisle."
The female knight grinned. She turned her horse back to Siderius. "The Mummy Merchant. A very powerful and influential figure."
Ashe grabbed her sword and prepared for battle.
The female knight scanned Siderius and Ashe, "You should know that I am a second-rank spirit sword master. You are only ranked one. And the girl hasn't even achieved her Iron Will yet. You do not want this fight!"
Siderius smiled. He ignored her warnings.
"The Mummy Merchant, huh? A fitting name. He told me that he had a friend. The Evening Sword of House Argentius.
Me, personally, have never met the man. But I heard about him.
The face carved by the gods. Hair of silver and body of a saint."
Siderius pointed at the prisoner, "Are you Damianos Argentius?"
The prisoner nodded.
The female knight unsheathed his sword. "You should have kept walking, white swordsman. And you should not jump off your horse. I have the advantages now."
"You're too confident in your ability."
The Silver Hawk appeared on his back as Siderius grabbed it.
The female knight widened her eyes, "Spirit Blade?!"
Siderius quickly drew the <Esturo> Sigil in the air while she's distracted. Esturo was basically useless against Spirit Swordsmen because of their willpower. But Siderius wasn't targeting the knight, he used it on her horse.
The horse lifted his front legs up and wailed before falling to the ground. The female knight jumped off the horse just in time to avoid being crushed by it. She let go of the leash she had on Damien.
The Morning Sword rushed behind Siderius, "Have I glad to see you, stranger."
The female knight squinted her eyes. She grabbed her helmet and put it on.
"Althaia of Kynia Insula." The female knight raised her sword.
Siderius pointed the Silver Hawk at her, "Nyx, just a survivor."
