This was definitely not on her agenda. Nowhere in her list of daily amusements did she write: Get forcibly kissed by an angry, emotionally volatile girl with clear attachment issues.

And yet, here she was.

Feeling the lips of a woman-one who, up until five seconds ago, had a one-sided vendetta against her. Serafine blinked, processing. 'Well… that happened.'

Not that she was particularly bothered. Everything she did was purely for her own amusement and benefit, and if nothing else, this was an entertaining turn of events. A new development. A fun little twist in the story. Besides, she wasn't tied to anyone. Nor should she be.

Even if Clara clearly has a severe case of Stockholm syndrome.

'I can't help it,' Serafine mused internally, running a hand through her hair with an air of absolute smugness. 'I'm just this charming.'

Clara, still pink-faced and glaring, was waiting for a response, probably expecting Serafine to stumble or fumble in confusion. Instead, Serafine tilted her head with a smirk and delivered the most blasphemous, aggravating line she could think of:

"What do you mean? You're the one who fell in love with me. If you knew your worth, you should've controlled yourself."

There it was - the classic blame deflection. It had a 99% success rate on people with low self-esteem. Which, surprise, surprise, seemed to include Clara.

Clara bristled, fists clenching at her sides. "T-Then don't flirt with me if you're not gonna commit to it!"

The condescending amusement never leaving on the narcissistic woman's face. "Is that what you think love is?"

"What—"

Serafine sighed dramatically, stretching her arms as if she had just been so exhausted by this conversation. "Darling, flirting isn't a contract."

Back in her world or maybe for centuries now, flirting has never had any one true meaning. It could be a game, a social tactic, a simple invitation to bed or just a way to pass the time."

Clara's expression twisted into something wounded, and Serafine, ever the connoisseur of human emotions, could almost taste the realization sinking in.

Some people sought commitment, sure. But the funny thing? Even they didn't really know what commitment was. People chased love, but half the time, they weren't looking for a person. They were looking for a thrill.

And Clara?

She wasn't sure which one she was yet.

Serafine, however, was sure of one thing - this was far more entertaining than training.

'Wow, I really am a shitty person,'

Taking the girl's first time? Now she was starting to sound like a depraved perverted man. But then again... isn't that pretty much her vibe? Someone who could take advantage of a person with the softest, most innocent smile on her face.

"Why? Were you hoping a knight in shining armor would swoop in and rescue you from your high tower?" Serafine couldn't help but take a step closer, her voice teasing.

"How did you—" The girl's

words faltered.

There it was. The truth. As an orphan, she had learned to be smart, to deal with the shitty humans around her. Free now, but it felt like being stuck in a castle.

One she couldn't walk around in, a castle full of dragons, ready to pounce at any moment.

"I was just saying what was on my mind, god, I'm such a genius," Serafine grinned, almost surprised by her own level of brilliance. She paused right in front of Clara, squinting as if the whole thing suddenly made sense. "I think I'm starting to get you now..."

"What do you mean?" Clara asked, not entirely sure she was ready for Serafine to answer.

"Oh, it's so obvious now! You wanted a fairy tale, didn't you? A knight on a white horse—someone to rescue you from your so-called dragons. You believe in that love stuff, huh?"

Clara wasn't the red flags that were listed earlier in terms of love and the dating culture.

She was a true romantic.

Not some thrill-seeking player or heartbreaker, she honestly believed love could be her salvation. It was sweet. But really, it was so irritating to Serafine, who had never bought into the whole "love conquers all" narrative.

'Romance? Pfft.'

To her, love was a chore, a responsibility, something everyone acted like was the answer to everything.

"But I'll tell you what. I will show you what love really is."

"Y...You will?" Clara asked, still a little unsure. This wasn't exactly the romantic she was used to.

"Oh, darling, of course. I'm quite the expert. Prepare yourself for the most un-romantic lesson in love you've ever had."

Serafine captured Clara's lips in a bruising, demanding kiss, pulling the girl's lithe body flush against her own with a fierce, almost desperate hunger. Their breaths mingled and danced, Clara's ragged pants interspersed with Serafine's possessive groans as she plundered the sweet cavern of her mouth.

Clara's eyes fluttered shut, her lashes casting shadows on her flushed cheeks as she yielded to Serafine's onslaught. She could feel the heat of her lover's skin, the pounding of her heart, the way her own body seemed to mold perfectly to every dip and curve of Serafine's.

As abruptly as it had begun, Serafine broke the kiss, only to attack the slender column of Clara's throat with a vengeance. Sharp teeth sank into the tender flesh, marking her, branding her as Serafine's own. Each nip sent shivers cascading down Clara's spine, each flick of Serafine's tongue a soothing balm to the stinging pain.

"Love is... desire. I have needs, you give them. You have needs too, and I'll give it in anyway you desire. It could be something as simple as a cuddle," Serafine began to coach, then she pressed a finger against the girl's underwear. "Or something more crude than that."
