I Am Your Natural Enemy-Chapter 592 - 233 Great Success, Great Failure, Possessed (6k)_2
"Night Vigil Deity (You Guang)."
"Once an extremely ferocious Evil Ghost, later used to fight evil with evil because of his own savagery.
With a portrait infused with his Divine Essence, he was used to ward off other Evil Ghosts, getting through the most dangerous days.
It was because of this that, as time passed, he became one of only two Night Vigil Deities with their own names.
A true Nemesis of Ghosts and Gods."
"He has been exiled for far too long, hasn't tasted fresh blood in ages.
Even after entering the present world, he's never really been satisfied once.
He's exceedingly irritable, and extremely hungry.
He's slept so long that even his sanity still hasn't fully recovered.
He is very dangerous—if you're devoured by him, you won't even become a Ghost; I advise immediate termination."
"Temporary Ability: Great Sun Seal."
Wen Yan immediately equipped the Great Sun Seal, realizing that this was a linked ability with Eternal Sunrise.
He could imprint his undying Great Sun right onto You Guang's mind.
To make You Guang believe that sunrise has already come.
As long as this imprint doesn't disappear, You Guang would remain in the sunrise state—in other words, would disappear forever.
Only if Wen Yan dies, or if the Sun in his heart sets, would You Guang appear again in the darkness.
This time, he was only given a Temporary Ability—it counted as a sealing skill.
Wen Yan looked at his own title again: Nemesis of Ghosts and Gods.
He more or less understood why what he got this time looked so strong: because he had the corresponding Natural Enemy title, it didn't really matter whether he got the Temporary Ability or not.
Wen Yan took out his phone, casually dialed a video call, and after dialing realized it was to Cai Heizi.
He hung up, and continued to dial Feng Yao.
"Did you see that? Mount Zhongnan, Taiyi Observatory—there's a Night Vigil Deity appearing, looks twice as big as the last one. As a law-abiding citizen, encountering this, I should report it to the Scorching Sun Department, right? Nothing wrong with that?"
Feng Yao gave a bitter smile, looked around himself, and shook his head.
"Nothing wrong."
"Alright, that's my report done, nothing else to do with me."
"Wait a minute..."
"What? Has nothing to do with me, I haven't set foot in Mount Zhongnan."
Wen Yan hung up with a smack, while Feng Yao looked up at the big boss standing in front of him, face full of misery.
Just then, a landline next to him rang, rescuing Feng Yao.
The General Director's secretary answered and then, hand cupping the receiver, spoke in a low voice.
"Minister, it's a call from Taiyi Observatory. Should I transfer it in?"
"Put it through."
The secretary took the call, face solemn.
"Alright, I understand. I'll inform the General Director and coordinate as soon as possible."
Less than a minute later, the secretary hung up.
"A Night Vigil Deity suddenly appeared and started a massacre. Seven or eight disciples have already been killed.
The Taiyi Observation Master has called for help, hoping we can send reinforcements as soon as possible."
Here, the secretary paused, then continued.
"He said that today, by chance, three seniors from Fuyu Mountain are visiting. There's some misunderstanding between Fuyu Mountain and Taiyi Observatory, but with an overwhelming enemy, they're hoping the Scorching Sun Department can coordinate and ask for help."
The General Director gave the secretary a cool glance.
The secretary immediately straightened his posture.
"Those were his original words."
The General Director sighed with some disappointment.
He saw right away what was really going on.
It's just that often, he chose not to comment.
These people are really crazy—give them a chance, and they still want to make a desperate counterattack.
With that thought, the General Director decisively gave the order.
"Tell them—they have at most five minutes to withdraw."
"Connect to Blue Army Command."
The landline on the desk connected the call.
"From now on, the drill is now live combat."
A hundred kilometers from Mount Zhongnan, the Blue Army commander hung up, then swept his gaze around the command center.
"Transmit my order—starting now, the drill becomes actual combat.
Target: position 71."
With the order issued, within three seconds, a zone on the command screen highlighted the spot where Taiyi Observatory was located.
There, a giant taller than the buildings appeared on the screen.
"That's the target."
Thirty seconds later, a voice came through the earpiece.
"Dong-one, Dong-one, Black Sparrow is one minute and thirty seconds from target."
"Precision strike."
"Black Sparrow copies."
In the pitch-black night sky, a bomb-laden slow-cruise bomber abruptly accelerated, two wingmen following close behind.
As they neared the location, the bomber pilot radioed to the wingman.
"Coordinates confirmed?"
"A thirty-meter-tall giant—if you miss this shot, the regimental commander'll have you flying trainer planes."
The fighter dropped out of the clouds, and one glance told the pilot this was no joke.
Diving downward, as it reached the proper altitude, two missiles launched, carried by the dive's momentum, whistling down like shooting stars from the sky.
The Night Vigil Deity, grasping a corpse and about to devour it, had just opened its mouth, when the two missiles struck near-simultaneously into its chest and abdomen at three or four Mach.
A thunderous explosion erupted, a violent shockwave, trailing sonic-boom clouds, cracking the air like thunder.
The warheads weren't relying on shrapnel but, like armor-piercers, instantly unleashed ultra-high temperatures and high-velocity metal jets.
The Night Vigil Deity let out a terrible scream, its enormous body staggering backward, falling.
From its back, two high-speed spinning jets tore through, while the remnants inside its abdomen erupted with scorching power.
