I Awakened as an SSS-Rank System Maker!-Chapter 24 - Two Beasts and a Fool
Chapter 24 - 24 - Two Beasts and a Fool
Chapter 24 - Two Beasts and a Fool
The air was thick with tension when Shi Yang appeared before Lucas. His golden hair gleamed under the light, forming a sharp contrast with the gloomy atmosphere around them. But before anything could happen, two figures suddenly appeared: André, with his distinctive golden hair, and Darleen, whose fiery red locks floated wildly.
Shi Yang's lips curled into a mocking smile, his eyes gleaming with amusement as he examined the newcomers.
"Ha," he muttered sarcastically. "He's got followers of all colors. Seems he enjoys variety."
Lucas felt the chill in the air intensify as Shi Yang's presence seemed to engulf them all. He wasn't sure whether to be angry or afraid.
In a blink, Shi Yang moved. His image multiplied rapidly, like threads of light through the air, before appearing directly behind André and Darleen. Without a sound, he extended a finger and gently brushed their skin. Both André and Darleen collapsed at once, falling into a deep, unconscious sleep.
Siman, who had been observing from a distance, widened his eyes in astonishment as he thought:
Definitely an SSS-rank.
He had seen power before, but this was something entirely different.
I would've done the same,
he thought,
but if I used my skill like that... they'd be dead, not sleeping.
Shi Yang's expression remained unaffected as he shifted his focus back to Lucas. With a swift motion, he reached out and gently placed his hand on Lucas's forehead. Lucas's body jolted as he suddenly awoke, his mind sharpening into a vivid clarity. A wave of confusion surged through him as he tried to piece together what had just happened. He blinked several times... his eyes searching for any sign of understanding.
"What happened?" he muttered shakily. "Who are you? And why are André and Darleen asleep?"
In Lucas's mind, thoughts raced wildly. Who was this man with such overwhelming power? What did he want with him and his companions? His heart pounded, a swarm of questions pressing against his consciousness, none with easy answers.
Siman, standing a few steps away, looked equally bewildered. He tried to explain the situation, his words hurried and urgent.
"What happened is this guy exploded you two," he said, gesturing vaguely at Shi Yang. "And apparently, he controls his explosions. He decided to erase Kyle, the egg, and the hunter from the C-rank... but he said he'd give you a gift."
The words barely made sense to Lucas, who was still struggling to absorb everything. His heart was racing, and a deep sense of unease clung to him. The man before him, Shi Yang, was no ordinary person. And something told him the "explosion" Siman mentioned wasn't a metaphor.
Anger welled up inside Lucas, frustration rising in his chest.
"Why did you destroy the dragon egg?"
His voice trembled, but there was a sharpness to the question, as if he needed deserved an answer.
Shi Yang's face remained calm, and he smiled gently as he nodded.
"Sorry about that, Lucas." His voice was smooth, almost apologetic. "I'm Shi Yang, an SSS-ranked hunter."
SSS-ranked hunter?
Lucas blinked, thoughts spinning.
Is he joking?
He couldn't help but glance at Siman, trying to read his reaction. But Siman stood there, as calm as ever, showing no signs of surprise. It seemed what Shi Yang said was true.
"Sorry," Lucas mumbled, quickly realizing how rash he'd sounded. "I didn't mean anything by it. I'm really sorry."
Shi Yang let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head with amusement.
"No need to apologize," he said smoothly, his tone light and unconcerned. "I should be the one apologizing."
Lucas didn't know what to make of this man. He had destroyed the dragon egg, caused an explosion that left everyone on edge, and yet here he was, apologizing like it was a simple mistake. It was confusing... and unsettling.
Then Shi Yang did something that threw Lucas even more off balance. He reached into his garments and pulled out a small object. It was no bigger than a fist, shaped like a tiny palace, intricately adorned and glowing with a strange light. He held it out to Lucas gently.
"This," Shi Yang said, his voice shifting to a more serious tone, "is a treasure. It grants you S-rank power for a full hour. It's a rare and precious artifact from my world."
Lucas stared at the small treasure, the strange aura around it filling the air. His mind was spinning, doubt gnawing at him.
Is this real? Can it really give me S-rank power?
He hesitated before accepting the treasure, his fingers brushing over its smooth surface. The object's weight was heavier than it looked, and the promise of immense power inside felt almost too much to bear.
"Thank you very much, Shi Yang," Lucas said, trying to keep his voice steady, though his thoughts were racing.
What's the price?
He couldn't shake the feeling that this wasn't just a gift. There had to be something more. There's always something more with people like Shi Yang.

Shi Yang smiled, his expression unreadable as he slipped his hands into his pockets.
"You're welcome, Lucas."
Shi Yang moved again. He leaned over André and Darleen, placing a gentle hand on each of their foreheads. A soft glow pulsed from his fingertips, and in an instant, both began to stir, their bodies rising from unconsciousness.
André slowly opened his eyes, confusion written all over his face. Darleen sat up as well, her red hair forming a fiery halo around her face. They exchanged a quick glance, bewilderment clear in both their expressions.
Shi Yang spoke again, his tone light and casual, as if nothing unusual had just happened.
"Well, we're done talking."
