I Became a Sick Nobleman-Chapter 208: Epilogue┃ On the Flower Road
Three months later.
Crunch.
“Ruel-nim, you need to hurry,” Cassion urged.
“Got it.” Ruel’s hand holding the pen and the hand enjoying the meat pie continued their tasks without pause.
“Do you know what day it is today, Ruel-nim?”
“Of course. That’s why I’m finishing this up first.”
Cassion scoffed at Ruel’s reluctance to move.
‘Didn’t he say he’d rest until I nagged him to get back to work after everything was done?’
It seemed like an absurd statement.
Despite Ruel feeling slightly better, he had been occupied with managing the tasks he had delayed. However, the outside world was only aware that Ruel had awakened a month ago and had just started walking—a deliberate rumor spread by Ruel.
—Ruel! Stop staring at that white paper! Isn’t today your special day?
Even Leo, who was on Ruel’s lap, couldn’t stand it anymore and jumped onto the desk, clinging to Ruel’s arm.
Drip.
—Gah!
As Ruel’s nose began to bleed, a startled Leo quickly retreated from the desk. Cassion promptly covered the blood with a handkerchief before it could stain Ruel’s clothes.
“Hah,” Ruel let out a nonsensical laugh, realizing he should have tended to his nose first.
“It’s a white shirt,” Cassion remarked with relief, having saved the clothing.
“Ruel-nim,” Cassion finally handed the handkerchief to Ruel.
“What is it?”
“Have you forgotten what Miss Fran advised?”
“Of course not. I’ve heard it countless times over the last three months that it’s practically ingrained in my ears.”
Absolute rest. Fran had insisted on this every time she examined Ruel. After the war, Ruel had adhered to Fran’s advice for a month when he felt as unwell as he did when he first became Ruel Setiria. However, now he felt different.
“No matter how I think about it, it’s strange. My body has gotten healthier,” Ruel complained as he inhaled Breath.
“Think about why Miss Fran is emphasizing it,” Cassion retorted.
Indeed, Ruel’s health was improving. Fran estimated that within 3 to 5 years, Ruel would be as healthy as an average person. The issue lay in Ruel’s tendency to overexert himself. Why was he the only one oblivious to the obvious solution? Or was he pretending not to know? With his master’s good at acting, Cassion found it confusing.
“Anyway, can the main character be late? It’s time to move.”
Knock. Knock.
Aris entered after a soft knock. “Are you still experiencing… a nosebleed? I’ll call Fran-nim immediately!”
“No need to make a fuss,” Ruel said, setting down his pen and rising from his seat.
The war had left Setiria devastated. While recovering, Ruel hadn’t fully grasped the extent of the aftermath, but the losses in Setiria were undeniable, with many fighting till the end.
‘I should have unleashed the power of Radiance a little faster.’
With a regretful gaze, Ruel smoothed out the papers. The damage post-war had been swiftly addressed with the help of Cyronian and Kran. Despite his diligent efforts, Ruel planned to take a week off to rest.
“Let’s not delay any longer,” Ruel urged Cassion, finally.

“I’ve been waiting, Ruel-nim!” Drianna was the first to greet Ruel as he came out from the mansion.
“I can’t believe you’ve finally become an adult, Ruel-nim!”
“To be honest, Ruel-nim has always been so mature that it felt like he was an adult long before now.”
Horen nodded, supporting her words. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
“Congratulations, Ruel,” Tyson approached Ruel. “You’re now officially an adult.” He presented a badge resembling a sky-blue shield. “This is the badge my elder brother used to wear. Would it be alright if…”
“Please, Uncle, put it on me.”
Tyson was taken aback by Ruel’s request. “This badge traditionally passes from the head of the Setiria family to the next head, unlike those bestowed by the royal family. I’m not the head of the family.”
“What does that matter? I would like my uncle to do it.”
“Thank you.” Tyson smiled warmly as he pinned the badge to Ruel’s chest, his hand trembling throughout. “I can’t express how happy I am to give this to you.”
“I’m also happy that you gave it to me, Uncle.” Ruel smiled brightly. This content belongs to novel_fіre.net
“Congratulations, Ruel-nim!” Cheynol chimed in respectfully.
The knights then erupted in hearty shouts. “Congratulations, Ruel-nim!”
Ruel laughed heartily at their congratulations. It felt peculiar to be celebrated as an adult once more, though he had already been one, but what did it matter?
“Thank you, everyone,” Ruel expressed his gratitude as he boarded the carriage with Tyson.
—Hehe! This body feels like it’s being celebrated too!
Leo, who had been by Ruel’s side, wagged his tail joyfully.
“Please get in, Ruel-nim.” Noah requested respectfully.
Having displayed unexpected talents and received a significant sum of money, Noah had become even more polite. Ruel couldn’t help but be pleased with Noah’s new side.
“Oh, congratulations. On a day like this, we can’t miss out on good drinks. I’ve secretly prepared some…” Noah grinned but quickly restrained himself at the sight of Cassion’s sharp gaze.
“Alright. Bring it to me later.”
Ruel licked his lips as he settled into the carriage. How could a celebration be complete without a toast on such a day?
***
Today was Ruel’s coming-of-age ceremony and the inauguration of the head of the family. He had previously told Banios to prepare the day splendidly. Little did he anticipate it would take place at the royal palace and that he would be waving from a carriage.
‘Damn…’ Ruel forced a smile.
Winter had passed, and spring had arrived, but the chill had not completely faded. However, it wasn’t cold.
“Widen that smile. Can’t you hear the cheers welcoming you, Ruel-nim?” Cassion felt refreshed for the first time in a while, recalling how Ruel had teased him about his Turbulent Day.
—Hehe. This body feels great!
As Ruel waved his hand, Leo’s tail wagged in unison. People welcomed him, calling out his titles. Though the titles had increased to three, the voices of the people mixed together in fervor, and because Ruel was the hero who saved the country, the atmosphere was hotter than ever.
—The loudest welcome of the day, Ruel!
Ruel chuckled at Leo’s overwhelming excitement and inhaled Breath.
‘The rumors spread well.’
The curse-like words of the Great Man did not come true. Honestly, the final power of radiance had been quite noticeable in many ways. Ruel had strategically spread rumors to anticipate unforeseen circumstances. Thanks to this proactive approach, he was remembered as a hero, despite the ongoing perception of him as a sickly nobleman.
“Ruel, are you feeling cold? Your arm must be sore; why not wave a bit less?” With Tyson blocking the wind, the chill dissipated entirely. Tyson’s concerned expression comforted Ruel, prompting him to wonder whether Tyson would always perceive him as fragile, even as he grew healthier in the future.
“I’m fine, Uncle. During my time with the Kran kingdom…” Ruel stopped abruptly, realizing his slip-up.
“Ruel,” Tyson’s demeanor suddenly turned stern.
It was winter then, and the Kran kingdom was significantly colder than Leponia. The thought of Ruel waving his hand out of the window on such a frigid day was unsettling.
“Ruel, I just remembered an urgent matter. I’ll return shortly.”
Ruel’s heart sank instantly. Tyson appeared as if he was about to head to the Kran Kingdom and conjure up a blizzard.
“Is there something more pressing than my coming-of-age ceremony? If you’re in a hurry, I understand,” Ruel tilted his head slightly, letting out a soft sigh.
“I, I made a mistake,” Tyson quickly interjected, noticing Ruel’s disappointment. “What could be more crucial than your coming-of-age ceremony, Ruel? If another war breaks out, I will make sure to attend your ceremony no matter what.”
Ruel stifled a laugh behind his hand at Tyson’s explanation.

“The Noble of Darkness, the Darkness of Mercy, and the Hero of Radiance, the esteemed head of the Setiria family, Ruel Setiria, is entering!” Today, the servant’s voice was particularly loud. Ruel was the hero who had made the most significant contributions in this war.
‘I have too many titles.’
Ttak.
Ruel leaned on his cane as he stepped into the hall. This time, he was the last to enter, and Brans personally came to greet him.
“Hero of Radiance,” Brans acknowledged with respect, the highest honor a king could bestow upon a noble.
“How is your health?” Brans asked as they walked side by side.
“I am feeling much better, Your Majesty,” Ruel replied, causing Brans to smile broadly. Brans had personally visited Ruel while he was ill, expressing his gratitude. For a noble, this was the highest treatment one could receive from the King. Ruel stood in place as Brans walked toward the throne and then turned back.
“Everyone present here can agree that the dedication, courage, and spirit shown by Ruel Setiria, the Hero of Radiance and head of Setiria, are truly exemplary for all nobles and something that should be respected as a fellow human.” Brans spoke loudly.
“Today marks the day our hero, Lord Setiria, steps onto the path of adulthood,” Brans declared proudly, casting an admiring glance at Ruel.
Ruel’s greatness was something that could not be overstated. He was not only someone who saved lives but also someone who bore the weight of millions with his frail shoulders. Ruel was a truly strong person who not only saved them but also endured the pressure.
“I sincerely congratulate Lord Setiria, who is young yet upright, and weak yet strong, on his coming of age!” For that reason, Brans gave Ruel a genuine round of applause as a man, apart from being a king.
Clap clap.
Applause filled the hall like rolling waves, while Brans signaled for Banios to step forward. Not just a servant, but the Crown Prince himself approached Ruel, pinning a badge on his chest—a symbol of acknowledgment by the royal family, signifying his noble status as the head of a family.
“Congratulations, Lord Setiria,” Banios said, extending his hand.
“How about a drink later?” Ruel asked softly, grasping Banios’s hand.
Banios asked cautiously, looking a bit nervous, “Are you alright now? Didn’t you say you were still coughing up blood?”
“I’m fine now. The pain I felt was from that guy.”
“Then let’s see if I can find a good one for you.”
Only then did Banios chuckle.
“I’ll invite you later.”
That was settled. Ruel couldn’t help but smile, contemplating how coaxing the Crown Prince might just lead to a better quality of drink.
***
“Why are you here?” Cassion frowned as soon as they arrived at the Spirit’s house. The sight of Ganien made his appetite plummet.
“Hah! This isn’t your invite; it’s Ruel’s invitation, my friend,” Ganien smirked, welcoming the sudden challenge. A fight might even make things more interesting.
“Both of you, cut it out. Today is a good day, isn’t it?” Aris interjected, glancing at Ruel.
“Let them be, Aris. Those two are just immature. As adults, we should be able to endure it,” Ruel chuckled, observing Cassion and Ganien’s ongoing squabble like two bickering siblings. Seeing the spirits gathered around them, it seemed they had enjoyed their previous fights.
“What…?”
“Ruel-nim, please don’t treat me the same as that guy.”
Ganien and Cassion grimaced visibly at the comment.
Aris chuckled, “Exactly. I’m an adult now too.”
“So, you two, just play nice until His Highness arrives.” While speaking to Cassion and Ganien, Ruel tossed a small gift to Aris with his hand.
“Ruel-nim…?” Aris, surprised by the unexpected gift, opened his hand to reveal a badge glowing with light—a sky-blue shield badge symbolizing Setiria.
“Congratulations on reaching adulthood, Aris,” Ruel beamed.
“T-Thank you! I will use it well! No, I will cherish it for a lifetime!”
Leaving Aris with gratitude, Ruel strolled away. After all, good scenery often accompanied good drinks. Isn’t spring the season of flowers? Despite the lingering chill, no flowers had yet bloomed.
In that regard, the Spirit’s house, where flowers bloomed perennially, was a sight to behold. Step by step, Ruel trod along a path adorned with even more abundant flowers than usual. Reflecting, he realized he hadn’t walked with such peace of mind before. The beauty was undeniable. Every glance revealed loveliness.
Kuroo kuru.
—Ruel, the spirits are calling you.
Leo, walking beside Ruel, hesitated for a moment before tugging at Ruel’s pants with his teeth.
“Why…?” Ruel’s eyes widened.
Not only them, but many spirits were bashfully looking at him, each holding a flower. Upon closer inspection, the flowers were strung together with something like threads.
“They’ve all prepared this for you. Will you accept it?” Jan’s words prompted Ruel to burst into laughter, holding his stomach. A flower necklace—how charming!
—Th-this flower, this body brought it.
Leo pointed to a black flower among the others and then shyly clung to Ruel’s leg, eventually resting his head against it. Ruel picked up Leo and settled down with him.
“Thank you, everyone.”
Jan placed the flower necklace around Ruel’s neck on behalf of the spirits. Due to the curse from that guy, Ruel was the only one who could see the spirits. With the guy gone, the curse should have lifted. Perhaps the time would soon return when people could see the spirits once more.
—It’s sparkling!
Leo hurriedly clung to Ruel’s arm.
-Well, that’s a lot of preparation.
Upon hearing Banios’s voice, Ruel smiled.
-So, where do we go now?
“Please remain there. I’m coming to get you.”
Ruel glanced at Jan. “Please connect the door, Jan.”
“Of course.”
-A door? What does that mean…?
As the door connected the Spirit’s house to Banios’s location, Ruel saw Banios standing foolishly in the open doorway.
“Cassion, Ganien, Aris!” Ruel called out to the three of them, who were still bickering.
“Wow, you really brought a lot! Oh, I know this one. I saw Cassion drinking this in secret.” Ruel’s mouth watered at the sight of the countless bottles of alcohol behind Banios.
Burp.
Banios couldn’t accept reality; even with Ruel’s cheerful voice, he let out a startled burp. Ruel chuckled at his stunned expression.
“Welcome! Shouldn’t we enjoy the flower festival together?”
How wonderful it would be to enjoy the festival! Thinking that he should hold a drinking party at the mansion next time, Ruel got up from his spot. As he watched the various colored flowers fluttering, Ruel smiled brightly.
