I Became the Demon King of Lust-Chapter 438: Time to move
It was a messy night in the end, but there’s a reason why Elementia is considered one of the top guilds.
The resources that they were able to move were far greater than what a normal person could imagine.
So by the end of it, the paparazzi reporter was silently taken away without a fuss.
Of course, that didn’t mean that he would get out of this situation scott free. Rather, there would be deals that would be made behind the door that would make it impossible for him to approach Lin Fan ever again.
It might even make it hard for him to approach any celebrity that he would want to take photos of. After all, it wasn’t as if this was the first time that this paparazzi reporter had been caught before.
It was just that he had never offended anyone big that he didn’t get too hard of a slap on the wrist.
This time, the other side was Elementia.
It wasn’t going to be easy for him. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
When I heard Su Chen report all of this, I didn’t really feel sorry for the reporter.
It was his own fault for what happened, so it wasn’t as if I could sympathize with him.
I just let things run their course since there was something else that required my attention.
It was something that Su Chen brought up.
"Since you’re already getting this kind of attention, the only thing that we can do is send you to a different place."
"Are you going to lock me up at headquarters until all this dies down?" I asked back in a confused voice.
Su Chen looked at me like I was crazy for suggesting this before saying, "What do you think we are? Why would we do something like that just for this? We’re not a black company, we’re a proper guild."
Shaking his head at me like he thought that I watched too many movies, he eventually said, "It’s very simple, you’re moving."
"Moving?" I asked in a surprised voice.
Su Chen said with a nod, "That’s right."
Then looking around my place that had been cleaned up by workers sent by Elementia, he continued, "In the first place, now that you’ve reached the level that you’re at, it isn’t as if this is the kind of place that you should live in. That’s why the guild will provide you with a new home."
I couldn’t help slightly narrowing my eyes when I heard this.
After all, there was nothing in this world that came for free.
As if he could guess what I was thinking, Su Chen said, "This is considered a reward from the guild, so there’s no need to be suspicious. It’s to reward you for finishing first in the tournament."
"But didn’t they already give me a reward?"
"Why can’t they give you more? Not to mention, this isn’t anything that expensive for the guild. You shouldn’t look down on Elementia, we’re considered one of the top guilds for a reason."
I slowly nodded in agreement to this, but there were still traces of doubt on my face.
Su Chen just shook his head with a faint smile before saying, "Alright, let’s go. They’ve already prepared the place for you, so let’s go and take a look. I have the keys right here, so we can go over right now."
I hesitated a bit longer, but eventually I nodded in agreement.
It wasn’t as if I would say no to a new house.
Saving up and eventually buying a new house was something that I had wanted to do, but there were memories that were attached to this place as well...
So I had to ask, "What about this place? Are you going to lock it up after what happened?"
It was Su Chen’s turn to be surprised as he turned back to ask, "Lock it up? Why would we lock it up?"
"Well it’s a place that people know that I’ve lived in and it would cause trouble to leave it be, right?" I asked in a hesitant voice.
A faint smile appeared on his face before Su Chen shook his head and said, "You’re thinking too much. Do you really think that just because you won one tournament, you would reach the level of the guild master?"
An awkward smile appeared on my face when I heard this.
Su Chen continued by saying, "Don’t worry, once we’ve spread the news that you’ve moved, they will lose interest in this place. This is your property, so you’re free to do whatever you want with it. We’re not the kind of black guild that would do things to our members’ property."
That smile became even more awkward as I realized that I had been too cautious for no reason.
"Sorry, it’s just that you caught me off guard with the whole rewarding a house thing."
Su Chen patted me on the shoulder like he understood before saying, "I get that you feel weird about this since you’ve only been at the bottom and no one has ever given you anything before. But don’t worry, you’re an important member of our guild, so we will treat you well. You don’t have to feel that you don’t deserve it."
That wasn’t exactly what I was thinking, but I knew that a part of it was since this was indeed the case.
And Su Chen pointing it out did help me come to terms with it to a certain extent.
So I looked at him and gave a simple nod in response before saying, "Let’s go see the new house then."
When we went down, I found that his car had changed as well.
Looking at him with one raised brow, Su Chen said with a cough, "I might have received a reward as well for being your handler. Can you blame me?"
A smile appeared on my lips before I started laughing.
I patted him on the shoulder and said, "You deserve it."
It seemed that he had been speaking from experience just now.
