Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Establishing the Guild

Alden and Hiroshi stood in the grand entrance of their new guild building. The facility was bustling with military personnel, temporarily assigned to assist until they could recruit their own members. The air was filled with the hum of activity and the sense of purpose.

Hiroshi looked around, his eyes wide with amazement. "I can't believe this is all happening," he said, his voice tinged with excitement. "Just a short while ago, we were struggling to survive, and now we have our own guild. This is unreal."

Did he forget Eva this fast? Man, I want to split his head and see what's inside. Alden nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Life changes fast, doesn't it? But now we have a goal a mission to save the world."

Hiroshi turned to Alden, gratitude evident in his eyes. "Thank you for trusting me and believing in my vision. I wouldn't have been able to do this without you."

Since when did this become YOUR vision! You wouldn't be shit by yourself. Man, I hate heroes for their narcissism, Alden thought, while trying to maintain his neutral face. He clapped a hand on Hiroshi's shoulder. "We're a team, Hiroshi. Now, let's focus on our next step recruiting climbers. We need to spread the word and bring in those who can help us achieve our mission."

I forgot how annoying he could be when he opens his mouth. He thought, They walked to the conference room, where a group of military personnel were finalizing the preparations for Hiroshi's upcoming interview. The military had agreed to give him a stage to announce the formation of Eclipse Guild and recruit climbers. Yup, that's the name he decided.

Alden handed Hiroshi a sheet of paper with a prepared speech. "Here's what you'll say during the interview. It's important to convey our mission and the benefits of joining our guild." Please don't fuck it up.

Hiroshi took the paper and read through it, nodding. "Got it. I'll make sure to deliver this message clearly."

"Greetings, everyone. I'm Hiroshi, a climber from the tower and the Guild Master of the newly formed Eclipse Guild. As the first guild to be established in the world, our mission is to bring stability and peace to our country.

We are currently recruiting climbers who share our vision and are willing to join us in this noble cause. If you're a climber and want to make a difference, come to our guild building and register with us. We offer numerous benefits for our members, including training, resources, and support.

Together, we can overcome the challenges ahead and protect the world from the threats it faces. Thank you."

The announcement of the Eclipse Guild spread like wildfire across the globe. News channels, social media platforms, and forums buzzed with discussions and opinions about the newly formed guild.

In bustling cities, people gathered around giant screens displaying Hiroshi's speech. Some were inspired, seeing the formation of the guild as a beacon of hope in turbulent times. Others were skeptical, questioning the motives and capabilities of the new guild. And some were inspired to follow this approach, considering forming their own groups to address the chaos and threats facing their regions.

The next day, Alden sat in the interview room, ready to meet potential new members for the guild. A long line of climbers awaited their turn, eager to join the newly formed guild.

"Next," Alden called out, rejecting the previous candidate who didn't meet the guild's standards.

As he was about to take a break, a particular candidate caught his attention. The young man walked in with an air of confidence, his eyes glinting with self-interest.

"Name, skill, and level," Alden asked, intrigued by the newcomer's demeanor.

"Kenji," the young man replied, his tone casual but assertive. "Skill: Mind's Dominion. Rank: B. Level: 7."

Alden's eyes narrowed slightly as he studied Kenji. "Explain your skill," he said.

Kenji leaned forward slightly, a smirk playing on his lips. "Mind's Dominion allows me to control and manipulate objects using telekinetic powers. I can also influence and control monsters." In his thoughts, Kenji added, and humans weaker than me.

He's hiding something. "Why do you think we'd want someone with your mindset?" Alden asked.

Kenji's smirk widened. "Because I'm good at what I do. I get results, and I don't let emotions get in the way. I can be an asset to your guild." Basically, I'm broke. Seriously, I can't keep living off instant noodles.

Alden recognized a kindred spirit in Kenji. The cautious antihero, smart and dark, manipulative yet shrewd Kenji could be a valuable ally. After a moment of contemplation, Alden nodded. "Alright, Kenji. You're in. Welcome to Eclipse Guild."

As Kenji left the room, Alden couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and caution. This new addition could either be a valuable asset or a potential troublemaker. Only time would tell. He should be fine if he's kept in line. One thing was certain, though Kenji's characteristics would fit well with Alden's.
