To rise to the next Circle, a Mage need to absorb and store Mana in the Mana Core to the brim. Filling it to the max, the Mage need to break their Mana Core, an act that is absolutely dangerous and can lead to the Mage being crippled, or worse, death.

After shattering their Mana Core from the equivalent of stuffing a balloon with air until it pop, the Mage need to reconstruct the Mana Core, with some changes. The most important one is size, as the next Circle of Magehood need to be larger than the previous one, to accommodate a larger Mana reserve to use more powerful spells, and to hold an expended Magic Circle.

Currently, Ardent is in the process of breaking his Mana Core, the deadlies part of the entire thing. If he lose consciousness, even for a brief second, the result is certain death. To him and everyone nearby, as explosion of a Mana Core of a 4th Circle Mage is disastrous, and that’s putting it mildly.

Ardent channeled more Mana into his Mana Core, trying to break it faster. With a pained grunt, he manage to reach the exploding point, as the Mana Core exploded inside of him.

Grunting is pain, Ardent use the pain to keep himself awake, and begin the process of reconstructing his Mana Core. The shattered pieces soon turned into liquid Mana, before swirling around and taking the shape of a sphere.

This time, the Mana Core, still not solidified just yet is larger than the previous one by at least more than half.

The moment the Mana Core solidified, Magic Circle appeared on it, engraving itself on the Core almost instantaneously. All of his attributes appeared, from Fire and Water, to Darkness and Light.

With the Magic Circle appearing, Ardent begin the next process, adding another layer to his Magic Circle. It’s the way for him to be able to cast Grade 5 Spell. Though, for now, he will focus on Fire Magic first, as it would be easier and is more effective as a threat should he need it.
