The combined forces of the Eastern Alliance entered the city, killing every enemy city soldier and bringing down every building in sight.

Fire engulfed the entire area as thick plumes of black smoke rose into the sky. With a force of 22,000 soldiers, it took them at least twenty minutes to reduce the city to ashes and rubble.

One unit commander arrived at the city’s southern gate. "There are no remaining city soldiers or buildings left for us to destroy."

Ethan looked down. "Good work. Withdraw all forces from the city."

"Yes, Sir Ethan."

The unit commander ran toward the other commanders, relaying Ethan’s absolute order.

One by one, the troops began marching out of the city in orderly formation, careful to avoid being detected as targets by the Absolute Defense Magic.

Once everyone had withdrawn, Ethan turned around. "You can start now, Yuna."

"I understand."

In an instant, Ethan’s figure vanished in a burst of wind from atop the southern gate wall.

He sprinted like the wind until he fully rejoined the ranks of the Eastern Alliance’s combined forces.

Ethan had learned from his previous mistake regarding Absolute Defense Magic.

At a sufficient distance from the city gate, Yuna’s Absolute Defense Magic would not be able to attack him.

A green light flared from within the city. Everyone could see it, even if it was only a brief glimmer.

Still, it was enough to confirm that Yuna had successfully cast Absolute Defense Magic.

Yuna descended from the gate, rode south, and returned to Ethan’s side.

"Absolute Defense Magic has been deployed."

Ethan nodded and asked Yuna to restore her MP as they continued toward the next city.

Yuna obediently agreed. She took out an MP potion and drank it as Ethan and the Eastern Alliance’s combined forces moved toward another city, the closest to their current position.

They advanced in neat formation, following Ethan’s direction as the commander of the combined army. Their march came to a halt after fifteen minutes of travel toward the next city.

Just like the previous one, no one guarded the city except its city soldiers.

The flag flying above it showed their allegiance to the Redemption Sword Alliance.

"How long until your skill is ready again?"

Yuna turned to Ethan. "About fifteen to twenty minutes."

Ethan nodded. He could dismantle the Absolute Defense Magic in that city in less than twenty minutes.

He deactivated his mount horse and summoned the Tempest Reaver sword into his hand.

In an instant, his appearance changed. Ash-white light surrounded Ethan’s body, and both of his eyes glowed with the same color.

[Tempest Mode Activated]

Running at high speed, Ethan arrived near the city’s western gate and automatically triggered the Absolute Defense Magic.

This time, the color was different. It was brown. Ethan narrowed his eyes, immediately recognizing the element of this Absolute Defense Magic.

"Earth element!"

Rather than attacking, rocky soil erupted and spread across the entire city area. This made it extremely difficult for Ethan to break through using speed alone.

Beyond the city walls, Ethan sharpened his gaze as he saw two massive stone golems rising from the ground.

The two golems spotted Ethan and immediately attacked, swinging their stone clubs at him.

Ethan surged forward, swinging his sword to release a slashing attack. A single crimson slash shot ahead and exploded upon colliding with one of the massive stone golems.

Ethan followed up with Ashura Rift, releasing the power of a triple-claw slash forward.

The stone golem’s body was destroyed and stopped moving. Now, only one giant remained. Cheers erupted from the ranks of the combined forces, proud of their alliance leader’s strength.

Ethan unleashed the same skill on the remaining golem. In less than five minutes, the stone giant collapsed into scattered rubble in front of the city gate.

Even so, Ethan was still faced with the massive, thick stone wall protecting the city and its magic rune.

Ethan landed on the ground, his sword planted into the earth to steady his descent.

Two explosions followed. The first came from Crimson Slash, the second from Ashura Rift.

Smoke and dust filled the area of impact, and Ethan could not yet be sure whether he had breached the stone wall.

Slowly, the smoke faded and disappeared. The southern section of the stone wall cracked and collapsed, but it was still not enough to open a path for the combined forces.

"Looks like... I’ll have to do it again."

Unexpectedly, Yuna walked over and stood beside Ethan. Her gaze was fixed ahead, watching the city’s stone wall.

"Maybe we can destroy it if we work together."

"No, Yuna. Save your MP for your Absolute Defense skill later," Ethan replied.

"I still have enough MP. You don’t need to worry, Sir Ethan."

Not only Yuna, but other unit commanders also stepped forward and offered their help. The two golems had already been destroyed. Their only task now was to bring down the stone wall with everything they had.

Ethan smiled, glanced briefly at Yuna, then focused his gaze forward again.

"All right. We attack together."

Yuna raised her staff, forming green runes as she summoned a massive tornado attack. Ethan released another Crimson Slash.

The other unit commanders unleashed their best long-range attacks.

A massive explosion erupted from the combined force. Moments later, the stone wall collapsed and fell inward into the city.

The falling rubble crushed city soldiers and NPC residents alike, destroying buildings in the process. All the unit commanders cheered.

"This makes our job easier."

Ethan gave a small smile and glanced at Yuna. "Now it’s your turn, Yuna."
