Everyone cursed inside their heads upon hearing Journey’s words.

They looked at the old man who spoke arrogantly earlier and could not help but pity his current situation.

None of them went to help him, though. That old man has been known for being arrogant because he had the strength to back it up. In truth, some of them were even secretly delighted with his misfortune. Who told him to become arrogant? If he simply followed their words and did not pry on them any longer, none of this would have happened.

After all, prying others was a bad thing; everyone knew it and was aware of the consequences if the other party was offended by their actions.

Seeing that everything had calmed down, Miguel scanned the vigilant crowd once more and spoke.

"Let me introduce myself once again. You can simply call me Journey."

He pointed and gestured toward Edith and said, "She is one of my beasts, Edith."

"We have been in seclusion for quite some time already and only woke up weeks ago after being disturbed by demonized beasts. At that time, I happened to save the youngsters of the Red Family after they were kidnapped by some bandits."

"As compensation for my actions, Erika promised that the Red Family would personally reward me if I came here to their headquarters, and so they did."

"As it has been some time since our last awakening, the world we knew was no longer the world we woke up to. But all I truly wanted at this moment was knowledge, both past and present, in order to fully comprehend our current situation. The Red Family rewarded me with Elder status and let me enter their library freely."

"Now, as you guys just heard, I mainly came here to read and expand my knowledge of the current world."

"I do not want trouble, and I do not want anyone disturbing my peace either. If you wish so and are confident enough to ignore my words, then you are actually welcome to do so like the two of them there."

"If you keep to yourselves, we will keep to ourselves as well."

He turned towards Damian and said, "The same goes to your Red Family. Being your Guest Elder does not mean I am your possession."

"Well, that is all I have to say."

He stated calmly before he walked down the podium along with Edith.

The show of force was deliberate on his part. Damian also consented to this; he just probably did not expect that Miguel would target the Red Family with his words as well.

Damian had a wry look on his face. The desired effect did not happen, and instead of the others feeling fear towards the Red Family, they only felt fear toward Journey instead. Even he himself felt fear and confusion at Journey’s action earlier.

Was it truly the right thing that they made him into a Guest Elder?

However, after thinking about it, Damian suddenly felt reassured that they had made Journey into a Guest Elder. With the heavenly vow in effect, he knew that Journey would not betray the Red Family. As long as they don’t cross the line with him, then they would be fine and could still use Journey as one of their chips in the feature.

The show of force performed by Miguel was very effective.

Even when Edith was no longer in a fighting posture, the guests would automatically make way for them as they toured around the area to try all the delicious dishes that were being served.

Along the way, some were brave enough to introduce themselves to them, allowing Miguel to know a lot of important names and figures in Blazing City just like that. He made a lot of connections with that show of force and his clarification of his status in the Red Family.

He made it clear that he was not the Red Family’s goon and was only here because they were indebted to him, and that he was just here to acquire knowledge.

With that being said, the others even offered to give him some books in the future. All of them wanted to gain his favor by exchanging some books they thought would interest him. Miguel also expressed his interest in reading all kinds of books, making the scene look harmonious.

If it were not for the medics and healers trying to treat the now-blinded Sendel and the one-armed old man, everyone would surely think of this event as perfect and well executed. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

As for the old man and Sendel, not many expressed their interest in trying to appease them. After all, Journey was still here, and they were afraid of getting into his bad books if they came close to Sendel and the old man. It won’t be too late to come to them later after the event. After all, even with their attitude, it could still not be denied that the old man was a force to be reckoned with in Blazing City. There was a reason why he acted arrogant earlier, even though this was the Red Family’s hosted event after all.

Miguel eats all the dishes available all around the venue while making a lot of connections and knowing all the big names in the city in the process. He promised that he would visit some of them in the future, while the others also expressed that they wanted to offer him help if he ever needed something.

He also learned that the name of the old man was Orman. He was a famous and active Martial Artist in Blazing City. He also does some mercenary work from time to time, and it was said that he has an extremely high completion rate, making him very famous and reliable. The young man, on the other hand, was also his apprentice of some sort. Orman found him on the roadside some time ago and was fascinated by his Innate Skill of [Transparency].

Sendel has a bad reputation in Blazing City, with the old ladies calling him a pervert the moment they saw him. But since he was following behind Orman, no one dared to voice out their dissatisfaction to him at all and could just grumble on their breath.

After this event, some were secretly happy that Sendel’s eyes were no more. This would also mean that he could no longer use his Innate Skill [Transparency] from now on.

There was a person who warned Miguel of the possible revenge of Orman as well. He said that Orman was not as simple as he looked, and he may even have a strong backing behind him.

Miguel merely smiled underneath the skull mask. He looked forward to the day that his revenge would come.

Unbeknownst to everyone present, a cunning smile had actually appeared on his face as he looked at Sendel and Orman.
