I Can Do Anything?-Chapter 34: To Be Decided
Chapter 34 - To Be Decided
...
The next day...
The competition is buzzing with disciples, even more than the first segment, as now the fights will be getting more complex.
In a secluded corner of the colosseum, a lone female disciple mediates correspondingly in a way that provokes black spiritual energy.
To the right of her, the very right, Bai Yu sits in a shadowed form, watching over her closely.
"Now guide it to the left... activate the Baihui pathway... good, good!" Bai Yu strictly orders, though an undertone of fondness and love is present in his voice.
His eyes narrow, thumb rubbing his bottom lip as he senses the spiritual energy convulsing.
Bai Yu grits his teeth, and then his entire face relaxes. "Enough, send it packing."
Woosh!—BANG!
Zuo Lingxin lets out a shaky breath, and then turns to her grandfather for approval, smiling gleefully.
"Awh, my little pink hex." Bai Yu cackles, patting her head. "This competition? Rubbish!"
The room they are currently in is a small room, lit only by a torch, a gate sits at the front.
Brnnn...

The said gate slowly opens to reveal bright sunlight, which causes Bai Yu to fade into the surroundings.
Dust settles, and an old man with a long white beard walks in. "Hehe, my disciple, here here, you'll be fighting in the second segment, correct?"
Zuo Lingxin's eyes narrow in annoyance and contempt, and then she sighs. Beyond her usually shy and quiet self, is an evil witch capable of so much more, puppeteered by her very grandfather, Bai Yu.
"No... I'll be fighting in the third segment." Zuo Lingxin replies in her usual soft voice.
"W-what! But you're only a medium-grade talent!" Her master, Xu Meng shouts, and then he calms himself down.
"Right, I must be serene, as sect leader said..." He mutters, and then smiles.
"Well, I'm proud of you, disciple, hehe, so..." He looks around, sniffing a little and then revealing a face of pure disgust. "Are you going to stay here or?"
"I'll stay here."
"Okay, okay, good disciple, I'll come back tomorrow..." He looks around one more time before departing.
As the gate shuts close, Bai Yu appears once again. "How nasty... would you like grandfather to... eradicate the ant?" Bai Yu smacks his lips, his white hair flowing unrestrainedly behind him. "Haha, my apologies, was that too vulgar?"
Zuo Lingxin giggles, getting back into a meditative position. "It's fine, ants like him deserve honey... they all do."
Outside of the gate, the sun shines down harshly, yet each disciple is unfazed. What is a bit of heat to a cultivator? Even an ounce of qi is enough to negate its effects.
Up in the elder stands, a jade throne stands elegantly, with the Serenity Peak elder, Lady Yi Na sitting on top.
Wisdom swirls in her gaze as she overlooks each disciple participating in the second segment, contemplating quietly.
Five outer sect elders sit behind her, their authority low in the sect.
"Lady Yi Na is so majestic!" A brutish elder giggles, his words unbefitting of his status.
A wrinkled elder, nearly indistinguishable from a raisin, sighs softly, yearning in his eyes as he watches Lady Yi Na's graceful form. "Lady Yi Na is a goddess among man, shining jade among powdered coal!"
Another elder with a long nose intervenes, scoffing, "All of you, shut up, Lady Yi Na is a respectable woman, get a grip."
The wrinkled elder stomps his foot and spits at elder long-nose. "Why you, fight me, come, now!"
The five elders bicker and insult each other, with some even preparing to fight one another.
"Silence, all of you!" To the right of Lady Yi Na, Han Kuang shouts, silencing all of the outer sect elders.
Lady Yi Na sighs, her eyes fluttering open.
Her gaze drifts downwards to the loud audience, and she mutters, "The second segment will be starting soon."
