I can expand my MAGIC ENDLESSLY?!-Chapter 27: The crisis
The Salamander’s body gleamed pure white, and with every step it took, the ground beneath froze instantly. Though it was still swarmed by lesser monsters, none could get close the touch of its cold death froze their legs before they even had a chance to strike.
One by one the circles around it started to glow up. He holds it carefully, locking onto the salamander.
He would only get one chance to kill it. If he misses, it’s all over. Delta uses a lot of power and the users’ mana. He won’t be able to use it again. That’s why he can’t afford to miss.
Thankfully, to ensure not to miss. Two of the Artelarists were there. Upon getting the signal, they nocked up their arrows. The arrows were completely made of Amadite with runes engraved on their bodies, specially made for Artelarists to use.
Getting the signal, they let go of the arrow together. The projectiles streaked through the air, glowing faintly as the runes activated mid-flight. They struck the Salamander squarely across its flanks. Before exploding, the explosions and the damage were small, but it was enough for it to freeze for a moment, and that’s all Lucian needed.
Instantly, dozens of magical circles erupted in front of Delta, spinning and shimmering with latent energy. Lucian pulled the trigger, sending the arrow streaking forward. It passes through every single sigil.
Instantly, dozens of magical circles erupted in front of Delta, spinning and shimmering with latent energy. Lucian pulled the trigger, sending the arrow streaking forward. It cut cleanly, passing through every single circle, its speed and size amplified even more, rushing straight towards the salamander.
The salamander had barely noticed the incoming threat. Before it could react or dodge, the arrow’s speed surged even further, striking its head with a precise, devastating impact before exploding.
The explosion sent a shockwave across the battlefield, knocking back nearby low-tier beasts that had been swarming the Salamander.
Soon, the smoke cleared, revealing the full extent of the devastation. A massive chunk of the Salamander’s head was obliterated, its once beautiful white scales now turned black from the intense mana explosion, peeling and falling from its body one by one, before its entire body collapsed with a heavy crash.
Lucian felt relieved seeing it was dead. He knows how powerful this thing is, but there’s always hesitation, and it seems he was worrying for nothing.
He gazed at the west side, the paragon could be seen holding onto the rhino, not letting it go. The worry of the paragon also disappeared; he was unsure if that paragon could hold such a monster or not, considering how old it looked. But fortunately it seemed he had far underestimated it.
While on the other side of the battlefield,
Valeria’s sword surged forward, flames licking its blade as the aura twisted and stretched, taking the shape of a slender lance. When it struck the bear’s claws, the air itself trembled, mana rippling outward like shockwaves. A thin, translucent barrier shimmered across the beast, blunting the force of her attack.
She pulled the reins sharply, guiding the horse in a tight arc as the bear’s claws tore through where she’d been a heartbeat ago. The creature roared, slamming its paw into the ground, sending debris and dust flying.
Valeria looked at her trembling hand. The strike wasn’t weak. But she still couldn’t tear through its defenses. She focused more on the fourth tier beast, even if it wasn’t capable of elemental control, it was dangerous. She already exhausted her blood lock she won’t be able to use it again for the time being.
"I have to end this fast," she uttered. "Who knows how long the situation will be stable?"
Gradually her body started to glow, and a mist of red evaporating in the air started to cover her body. The Nozvans’ Mana circulation technique.
She leaned forward, her sword being slowly covered by more aura. A sigil blinked around it, causing the aura to spiral all of a sudden.
With the signal. Her horse surged forward, hooves drumming against the cracked battlefield, carrying her straight toward the Crimson-Striped Bear. Its shield also activated, making it look like a moving fortress heading forward, crushing weak beasts along its path.
The red striped bear got more enraged seeing this. It roared, lunging forward without any fear, its eyes getting more blood red, swiping down its claw forward.
The Crimson Striped Earth Bear let out a deafening roar, swinging its massive claws, but Valeria didn’t falter. For a split second a transparent shield was conjured atop the shield the horse had.
Upon contact, the shield exploded completely, knocking off the paw, and that was enough time for her to act.
With a single thrust, the lance pierced its chest, flames spiraling wildly even more, obliterating everything between the core and the lance.
Before the lance struck through the core, shattering it instantly.
The bear gave one final, ear-shattering roar. Its movement stopped. Its eyes also dimmed down for a moment; it seemed nothing happened, but in the next second.
Its legs gave way. It collapsed, smoke rising from its scorched body. Valeria took some distance, swinging her sword, causing the other lance to evaporate.
Buts of sweat formed on her face. The attack took more mana than she had anticipated. Also, she hadn’t fully recovered.
"One down, one more to go," she uttered, hopping back onto the horse, heading toward the last remaining beast.
The rhino collided right into the paragon. Knight Aldric gritted his teeth, holding it into place, avoiding its horn, while lower-tier beasts swarmed all over them.
He was already getting tired operating a paragon wasn’t as easy as people made it seem to me. It consumes both Aura and Mana to sustain itself.
And despite giving his all, he was struggling to hold in place. Ironfang Rhinos are beasts with immense strength that surpasses their rank by one minor stage.
Truth be told, him being able to hold this beast in place for so long is already an outstanding thing. But no matter how outstanding it may be, he won’t be able to hold it in.
And as if just thinking about all this brought the bad omen. One of the joints on its arm snapped because of an acid spat by a lower tier beast.
Usually it wouldn’t have happened, as no poison below the 4th tier can dissolve its body. But what happened was unknown to them there was a tiny, almost invisible crack, and through that, the crack gradually widened, making space for the poison to seep into the internal paths.
Instantly the mana and aura supply vanished from its left hand. He right away noticed the tear, but it was already too late. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
With its immense force and the giveaway, the rhino rushed past him instantly, heading right towards the Nozvan walls.
Lucian, Master Kaelen, and everyone noticed almost instantly.
Valeria, who was rushing forward, seeing it raised her reins even more, causing the horse to speed up, but it was already too late before Sir Kaelen or others could do something. The beasts collided right on the walls, collapsing a part of the wall instantly.
