I can expand my MAGIC ENDLESSLY?!-Chapter 37: The training Grounds
Many were shocked, seeing a path like that. Who would have thought there was a path like that?
While Kairos looked at them, he thought, ’If they are already shocked... I wonder how they will react seeing it...’
A huge body of steel flashes before his eyes.
As he thought, he paused before running his hand through his hair, cursing.
’Yeah, that thing would go berserk too when dark mages attack.’
This year was known as the golden year of the academy. Not just because everyone had potential but rather because of what they faced and survived, growing far stronger.
That was the dark mage’s attack. They attacked during the annual examinations. Killing not just students but professors too.
Those that survived that became stronger. But that wasn’t all. A few months later, Owsdic academics! The strongest weapon has also gone berserk, causing huge damage to the academy.
Kairos sighed just thinking about the aftermath that thing caused, swinging its big jaint hands.
The very weapon left behind by the founder of magic. A paragon standing high with its 50-meter-tall body.
That’s how big it was. Even the sigil library sustained damage that day.
He felt a headache just thinking about that. He was here, and now he can’t let that happen. But he didn’t even know where it was located right now in the academy. He was too young to pay any attention to this.
He let out a deep sigh before standing up, following others as they head down.
Through the path, as they head down. Kairos could see an opening below.
Kairos is also a little curious about that. What we were heading to was the advanced training facility developed by the dwarves before they went extinct.
He had seen it when it was being repaired after that incident later on. He hears about it a lot and how unique it is and the technology it uses.
As students reached the opening, a few of them gazed ahead in shock. Kairos pondered.
’Yeah, it was quite big.’ But when his own turn came, he could only stare, standing on the side, taking it all in.
’What is that?’
He wasn’t shocked seeing the large scale of this underground training facility. No, he was already prepared to see something amazing.
But the thing is hanging up at the huge dome-shaped ceiling. He wasn’t prepared to see something like that. No, he doesn’t even know what it’s purpose was.
At the ceiling were hundreds of thick roots spread across from all sides, reaching towards a big obsidian cube. Holding it firm in.
Surrounding the cube was something that was the weirdest thing,A creature was grasping it with its body.
It looked like a dragon but didn’t have wings. It didn’t have horns but rather tendrils sprawling from its head swirling behind.
Its body is stretching and gasping, grasping the cube like a snake nestling its eggs. Its face was pointing at them, covered in scales.
Gazing at them, making their existence feel small.
Professor Corwin ignored them, heading towards the middle of the place where a small pillar was placed on a raised-up platform.
As he stepped a foot on that platform. A hum sound spread across the place.
Slowly, right? In front of their eyes, the cube started to glow, revealing intricate runes spiraling through the body.
Click, click, click.
The ground also changed, with circles of black appearing one by one, pushing away sand and soil.
The middle of the compartment moved, and a small helmet resurfaced from within.
Giving a glance at all the platforms, Professor Corwin spoke. "All you stand there and wear those helmets."
"And let the system envelop you. No further questions will be asked. It will only affect your final score."
Many tried to ask questions but stopped hearing that some were already stepping in and putting that helmet on their head.
As soon as they did, as was As if the platform came alive. Tendrils of black sprout out from within, covering their whole body.
Instantly that student panicked. Falling down. The tendrils coushinig his fall.
What was happening? This time almost all were clueless, of course, except for the new ones, including Teresa.
She flinched seeing that thing grabbing one’s body like that. ’He grabbed her own shoulders,’ uttering.
’The author is really a pervert,’ she complained. What was that? That will measure one’s body. The potential, the reaction speed, and the fighting senses in a virtual like place where the sensation is controlled by those tentacles.
Many made fun of it, and strangely enough, she has to be in it too. Just thinking about the tentacles grabbing her body made her shudder.
While on the other hand, Kairos watched it fall, the students acting weirdly, some falling down screaming. While some hold their hand, moving it as if they were holding swords and all kinds of things.
Kairos took a deep breath, gathering himself, and also walked in towards one the black platforms.
He bent down, picking up the helmet. It had a metallic structure with runes carved onto it.
’Here goes nothing.’ Uttering, he put the helmet on. Instantly he felt something grasping his body. Before everything went black.
There was no light, no sound, no sensation. Kairos felt as if he had been plunged into an endless abyss, with the weight of his own thoughts pressing against him from all sides.
It was disorienting to suddenly lose all sensory input. He couldn’t even feel his own body. Only his thoughts of mind remained.
Kairos can’t feel his body anymore. No sensation he could just tell himself and try. He wouldn’t even know if he had taken a step or not.
"I see, they are training students, mimicking dark aura domains,""" Kairos mumbled.
Kairos strained to concentrate, focusing intently on the notion of moving forward. Despite the absence of sensation, he visualized himself stepping ahead.
The mental image was vivid, lifting his foot and propelling himself forward. Yet, with no sensory feedback, it was like wandering through a dream where the ground might as well have been an illusion.
The moment he thought, the sensation of the body appeared. The sensation of him falling down.
Even though he couldn’t physically feel it. It was as if his mind itself was plummeting through endless darkness.
Kairos tried to calm himself down.
Hah hah...
Taking deep breaths in and out...
This was how terrifying a darkness domain was. Kairos, already facing them in his last life, couldn’t help but utter.
"It feels still too real."
He has faced domains before. And he knows very well how terrifying they are.
Kairos quickly thought of something else. Standing on the ground. The falling sensation disappeared, and he felt like he was standing on something again.
"As expected, we are the owners of this place."
Even the sensation of the ground slowly disappeared.
A smirk played across Kairos’ lips. The surroundings became more and more silent as everything gradually fell under his control.
Not knowing, every single one of his movements and the changes on the black domain are being monitored. Not just him but every single one of theirs.
