Chapter 438: Nova Sector Rewards

"Haha, first of all, the Nova Sector finally had the privilege to conquer and develop an uncharted zone." Alistair started with a smile.

"Oh? Was it not possible before?" Nash asked, puzzled.

Developing an uncharted zone should be a case of the more the better.

Why would such a good thing be limited to a few?

"There’s only a limited number of uncharted dark plane territories directly related to the Solaris Domain. Naturally, it’s restricted."

"I don’t understand," Nash said.

"I see. It seems you don’t know much about the Dark Plane. Let me explain..."

The Dark Plane, like the Universe Plane, was divided into multiple subspaces, equivalent to planets, stars, and clusters of meteorites.

The conquered subspaces where they managed to establish a shelter were called regulated charted zones, where they could publicly gather resources for development.

Meanwhile, the range within these charted zones was called the unregulated charted zone.

While the territory legally belonged to them, because they hadn’t established shelters within, they couldn’t gather resources easily.

This was where pioneers and powerhouses scrambled, doing their best to establish a shelter.

With a shelter, they could become the alternative owner of the place, only needing to pay the Nova Sector some tribute.

Next on the list was the uncharted zone, a place with no owner that could legally be conquered by anyone.

However, there was a limit. Like a boundary, each Domain Territory had a range of uncharted zones it could access.

Beyond that would be encroaching on other territories.

With this limitation, naturally, only a few within the Solaris Domain were qualified to conquer them.

Not only would this prevent needless casualties, but these uncharted zones could also be monopolized by a select few.

"I see, but shouldn’t the number of uncharted zones have run out by now? How could we still have a place to hold the Cosmic Competition? Furthermore, what about the future?"

No matter how many uncharted zones existed, with multiple sectors and the cosmic competition occupying a few every ten years, they wouldn’t last.

"Of course, they would’ve run out long ago. However, thanks to the Cosmic Competition, the Solaris Domain and all the other Domain Territories won’t run out of places to conquer."

"How? Do they recycle the wild void territory that a batch of cosmic competition participants wasn’t able to conquer?" Nash guessed.

"You’re spot on!" Alistair grinned, beginning to explain in detail.

As it turned out, failing to conquer a wild void territory wasn’t a total loss.

To earn their keep, they didn’t need to conquer a huge place the size of a dimensional territory or establish a connection to the dark plane.

Each piece of land they cleared, conquered, and stabilized with elements and law was equivalent to a sub-territory they could claim.

Like how they could transfer the whole Earth Civilization to any place, they could also cut off the cleared territory to become part of their own.

Of course, there were many downsides to this kind of hasty transfer.

The piece of void and the corresponding planet would be depleted of energy, becoming barren like most places. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Although it might have void crystal mines if they were lucky, compared to the prevailing elements and laws in prosperous places like the Solaris Capital and some other sectors, it would be paradise versus desert.

Furthermore, because the land was forcefully transferred and wasn’t able to connect to the Dark Plane, it wouldn’t have a corresponding subspace of an uncharted zone.

As a result, they could only get a free barren empty space without any substance.

It could only be developed with time as it continued to be irrigated by the elements and laws of the surrounding area.

After a long time, it could become a place full of life, nurturing a subspace they could conquer.

Depending on the concentration of energy, population, resources, and various other factors, the subspace could grow to a certain realm.

For these barren lands they had forcefully transferred, the uncharted zone it could nurture could only reach tier 5 at most.

Limited by such factors, while still beneficial, forceful transfer because of a failed territorial development was a lost cause and only a last resort.

Understanding the whole matter, Nash understood why a wild void territory was so sought after.

Even a failed piece of territory could produce so much space and resources. What more if they could directly conquer it?

It was basically a mountain of wealth waiting for them to dig.

"What do you think? Thanks to you this time, we managed to get a thousand years of eligibility to conquer an uncharted zone." Alistair couldn’t suppress his smile.

With such a long time, they should be able to conquer a few dozen uncharted zones, expanding the Nova Sector territory several times over!

"Congratulations. It seems the Nova Sector is about to become prosperous."

"Haha, this is only one of the benefits we got."

"Oh, there’s more?"

"Yes, we also got a few more quotas to buy planetary-level weapons, battleships, and technology!"

"There’s also a talent pool investment from the Solaris Domain and Chronos Empire, totaling 1 trillion Chrono every ten years!"

"Chrono? Is it a currency higher than Sol?"

"You got it right. If Sol is worth about a million void crystals, then a Chrono is worth about a million Sol."

"Not only that, unlike Sol which has limited effect in other Domain Territories, Chrono is a powerful currency that can be used anywhere in the Chronos Empire without a problem. It can even be use to trade with other Galactic territories."

"This—"

Hearing Alistair describe the value of Chrono, Nash couldn’t help but feel a little envious.

1 trillion Chronos every ten years was basically 100 trillion Sol every year.

The Nova Sector’s investment in the Nova Team was only 100 trillion, yet they could have an investment of such a large sum every year.

"Haha, don’t be too jealous. This is an investment, not a reward. How could it be simple?" Alistair quickly added, seeing Nash’s expression.
