Chapter 507: Mechanical Race

On the last day of the auction, Nash checked how much money he had left.

"Still 5.5 quadrillion left..."

Nash didn’t expect that after buying all kinds of big machines and treasures, he would still have over half the money Azaela had given.

It seemed he had underestimated the value of money.

While a few big items were worth over a quadrillion chronos, those were too few.

The most expensive he bought was the Domain Virtual Server earlier, which cost 2.2 quadrillion chronos.

Otherwise, those Sector and Planetary Level Virtual Servers only cost a few billion to tens of trillions at most.

Having more money left than he thought, Nash looked forward to the items being auctioned off on the last day.

At this point, items worth less than a trillion were no longer presented.

As the last day of the auction, all items became very precious that he was even tempted to buy a few.

Unfortunately, thinking he did not need them, Nash held himself back.

Seeing the following item being presented, an interested light sparked in his eyes.

"A mechanical life?! Amazing, I didn’t expect the Xenus Auction to have this!"

At this moment, not only was Nash shocked, but everyone in the Xenus Tower was shocked.

On the stage were dozens of tier 7 mechanical lives!

These were not man-made creations that evolved, but an innate life in the Universe Plane!

Situated in the Mechanical Cosmic Empire, these mechanical beings were born from a special substance that enabled them to transform into living machines capable of evolution.

It was said that they could transfigure themselves into any machine known to man.

Even the Virtual Administrator was said to be a part of their race! Of course, it was just a rumour.

Even then, it showed that the prestige and strength of the Mechanical Cosmic Empire were not weak.

In fact, it was even one of the top races, higher than even the human race.

Seeing them enslaved and captured for an auction, who wouldn’t be shocked?

The problem was, could they even control these mechanical lives once they bought them?

"Everyone doesn’t need to worry. These mechanical lives weren’t captured by us, but came to seek recruitment and alliance with the Chronos Empire. Beside them, in all the Domain Junctions, there were also mechanical life ready to be recruited." Lilliana explained.

"So that’s it!"

"How wonderful, I didn’t expect we would encounter such a thing on the eve of the cosmic competition."

"Something is really different..."

Hearing Lilliana, their doubts began to deepen.

From various higher-tier items in the auction to various regulated items that weren’t for sale before, it seemed something in this Cosmic Competition was up.

Even factoring in the Chronos Saint joining the competition, something just didn’t add up.

Unfortunately, not having any idea what was happening or about to happen, they could only do their best to react in the moment.

"Is there any limitation, treatment, or other things we need to pay attention to?"

"There is nothing. You can treat them as you would any recruit." Lilliana said.

Mechanical lives were stubborn creatures. Once they put something into their mind, nothing could stop them.

Since they decided or were probably ordered to join the Chronos Empire, even if their master ordered them to die, they would do so without a second thought.

It could be said that mechanical lives were solitary beings that lived on a single line of thought.

Soon, after asking more questions and ensuring everything was in order, the bidding frenzy began.

Nash also joined the bidding, planning to buy one to manage the virtual server he had previously purchased.

Although he could reconfigure and control it, it was too much effort.

Passing the management and control to others was also not a solution.

Managing a virtual world that interacted with trillions and even possibly quintillions of people was not something an individual could do.

With a mechanical race in charge, a tier 7 War Saint at that, managing the Virtual Server was a breeze.

As for loyalty and whatnot, as Lilliana said, the mechanical race was first when it came to loyalty.

Once they had chosen a master, nothing else could change their mind.

Even if the Primordial Mechanical Emperor took action, the mechanical life would rather die than betray.

Joining the bidding frenzy, Nash couldn’t help but grip his seat as the price rose over a quadrillion, then two, and finally three!

"Insane! This is insane! Are there still cosmic elites bidding?"

"Too rich! I didn’t expect there were so many wealthy cosmic teams in the Xenus Domain Junction!"

Unlike earlier where the domain masters were bidding for the Void Beast Egg with tier 9 potential, they could hear that only Cosmic Team leaders were bidding now.

The price of one tier 7 mechanical life already reached over 3 quadrillion chronos, yet the bidding was still continuing.

This represented dozens of overlord teams with wealth beyond measure.

"Really relentless..." Nash gritted his teeth, hearing the bidding finally stop.

He thought he would be able to buy 3 or 5 mechanical lives. Who knew he could barely afford one? 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Paying 3.1 quadrillion for one of them, Nash closed his eyes in heartache.

From 5.5 quadrillion, he was only left with 2.4 quadrillion chronos!

And yet, he was still thinking earlier that he had too much money to spend?

In the next auction, the ones being sold were still mechanical lives, albeit at only the tier 6 realm.

Thinking he needed a few to manage various production hubs, machinery and battleships of the team, Nash decided to buy a few dozen.

Fortunately, as they were at a lower tier, and those rich cosmic teams didn’t compete so fervently, the price only rose to over ten trillion for one.

Spending over 300 trillion chronos, Nash was still left with 2.1 quadrillion.

With more mechanical lives at the tier 5 realm for sale, Nash no longer bid but watched.

Although cheaper, Nash had no need for them.

Soon, after a few more mechanical lives being sold, the following items to be sold were various training resources.

From elemental and law resources, combat simulators, dummies, training chambers, potions, auxiliary treasures, etc.
