I Can Tame Everything!-Chapter 35: Awakening! II
Chapter 35 - Awakening! II
Understanding what was happening, Seraphine's expression shifted the moment she realized what he was about to do. There were beasts who would forcefully try to awaken their kin's bloodline by sacrificing themselves, and she could not let that happen.
Not when a prime asset, that could earn her not only money, but reputation as well, was about to sacrifice himself.
"Stop! Whatever you're thinking, I won't allow it!" she shouted, stepping forward with defiance as she pulled out the artifact from her pouch, which she had previously reached for. the artifact resembled a stone with strange, red-glowing markings running throughout.
As she yelled, grabbing everyone's attention, Darius voiced, "Lady Seraphine, please calm down."
Rex added, "Lady Seraphine, please try to understand. My beast Arcane is meeting her biological father after a long time."
"So why should I care?" she refused, anger evident in her eyes.
"You're right, but if it's alright, I can work for 100 gold coins if you let them do their thing," he requested, not fully understanding what was happening, but ready to protect Arcane.
Should I just kill her? A fleeting thought crossed his mind, and then he shook his head. He couldn't. He still had to depend on the auction house.
She hesitated for a moment. Her eyes gleaming with greed as she rasped, "If you can work for 3 years with that amount, I can make it happen." She grinned as if it were her lucky day.
Things were falling into place for her. With Rex working under her, she was bound to make great waves. It was as if a divine artifact had fallen into her hands in the form of Rex.
Additionally, he's just a kid. What can he do? she thought with a smirk.
"Madam Seraphine, that—" Rex paused as another voice cut through.
"Just kill her. Human greed knows no bounds."
The moment the father's voice rang out, the strange stone in her hand began glowing slightly. But before it could be used, Rex sighed. Whatever. I'll figure things out, he thought, as his calm eyes turned cold... He knew she wasn't going to listen to him.
[Paralyze]
[Zone of Null Sound]
He muttered one after another under his breath. A sound barrier forming within a 30-meter radius.
Then, with a swift motion—already standing close to Seraphine—he pierced her neck with his dagger. His action, flawless. Like he had done it many times before.
Unable to speak or move in her weakened state, she darted her pupils in shock toward Rex. His cold eyes gleamed as he looked down at her fallen body and growled, "Greed blinded you, Seraphine."

Yes, the moment their negotiations began, he had started taming her. Since Rex knew he'd be working under her, he thought it was best to keep her under control—but things turned out differently than he anticipated.

Rex looked at Arcane and her father. "Please continue awakening Arcane," he said, his expression serious.
The father nodded, then picked up Arcane for a final embrace. Hugging her tightly, after a few moments, he put her down. With one last fatherly glance, his eyes turned serious as he began the awakening process.
With no one to disturb him, he sat cross-legged, Arcane tilting her head in confusion as she stared at her father's serious face.
He began, his expression darkening. A barrier formed around them, pushing Rex and Darius out.
Lightning danced within the barrier as it left the man's body, slowly and steadily covering the whole barrier. It looked like a ball of purple light, lightning flickering now and then.

Yet, the two beings inside the barrier were easily perceptible to the curious gazes of Rex and Darius.
As the lightning left the man's body, his muscles grew weaker, as if he were losing something very precious his body had contained.
Minutes passed, and lightning continued to pour out of the man's body. It tried to escape, as if it had its own consciousness, though it was restrained by the barrier. It danced wildly, trying to reach every corner, desperate to break free.
Then, silence lingered all of a sudden. Every bolt that had screamed unrelentingly came to a halt. And again, it buzzed—then shot toward the center of the barrier, between Arcane and her father.
Finally, as all the lightning gathered, it condensed into a small, palm-sized mass. Shapeless, it flickered like burning flames—only it wasn't flames, but lightning. Pure, purple, condensed lightning.
Bzzzt... Bzzzt
Hovering in the air, it buzzed with unrestrained intensity. The man's expression was one of utter pain. As lightning stopped pouring out, he fell on the floor with a difficult expression.
But before he collapsed, a purple ethereal form emerged from his body. Rex's and Darius's eyes widened—they easily recognized it.
An ethereal form of his very own soul.
The soul moved toward the condensed shapeless lightning, and as it diverged into it, the condensed lightning, which had a purple color, turned white as it began moving toward Arcane—finally entering her body through her glabella.
The process, although not to the same extent, brought back a similarly grim memory of Rex.
And, the moment the condensed shapeless lightning entered Arcane's glabella—
"Scree—!!"
A thunderous yet painful screech resounded, Rex's and Darius's eyes widening in shock.
And then—
Thunder rained down from the sky as it shattered the auction house's roof, and then the barrier, directly striking Arcane.
CRACK!
KRRRRAK!
Rex's widened eyes, once filled with shock, now brimmed with anguish veiled beneath unwavering resolve—as he stood powerless, forced to watch Arcane writhe in pain.
As the screech and thunder tore through the silence. A dark cloud hung over the sky, Lightning thundering on Arcane relentlessly.
The whole city was alerted...
Including the mysterious man who had descended into the bloodline trader's chamber.
