I Can Tame Everything!-Chapter 47: The delegation arrives
Chapter 47 - The delegation arrives
"No one talks about Rex's Aspect to anyone. Treat him like a normal kid. Am I clear?" he said, looking at everyone.
Both Darius and Vivienne nodded with an expressionless face.
"Good. Let's get moving, they are waiting for us," the king said and began walking toward the Roaming Vessel.
Everyone greeted and bowed down respectfully while making way for them to board the ship.
Once boarded, they walked toward the meeting room and pushed open the door, entering the room.
And for the first time, Rex's and Darius's eyes landed on the royalty of different races.
There were graceful elves and stout dwarves, seated calmly around the round table while chatting peacefully.
And as soon as they saw King Edmund, one of the dwarves seated on the chair glanced at him, his gaze flickering with playfulness as he complained...
"Come on, Edmund, you can't keep us waiting while you chat with your lovely daughter," he jabbed playfully.
But instead of countering it, King Edmund replied with a bright smile, "Haha, my apologies, Rhegor," pleasantly surprising them.
Taken aback, Rhegor furrowed his brows. "You seem quite happy today. Care to fill us in on the good stuff?" he asked in a curious tone.
"Nothing. Can't I even meet my friends with a bright smile?" the king said and sat on a chair while Rex, Darius, and Vivienne also pulled their chairs to sit upon.
The king asked if he could leave Darius behind, but Rex strongly refused, saying, "Please treat Darius the same way you treat me." Seeing this, he agreed and brought him to the meeting room.
"I do agree with Rhegor, Edmund," a beautiful voice chimed in, "but before that, who are these kids you brought along?" a female elf questioned with a scrutinizing gaze, her voice carrying a mature charm.
The people seated in this room were of royalty from the Lyonesse Kingdom, which was ruled by two different races:
One being dwarves from the Goldhammer family, while the other were elves from the Liraevan family.
There was no deceit or backstabbing between them; both families ruled with harmony.
The king looked at Rex and Darius while answering the elf queen, "They both will be in Aelindra and Vivienne's party, and—I'll explain the details later," the king mused, looking at everyone, his tone shifting at the last part.
"Is that so...I thought no one would be added to their team. This is quite surprising," she mumbled, narrowing her mesmerizing gaze onto Rex and Darius.
While everyone present also looked at them with curiosity. Becoming intrigued, they knew King Edmund wouldn't add any random person at the last moment, they were bound to be special.
So instead of objecting to them directly, they became curious.
Whrummm...
A loud hum resounded, and the ship finally began to take off.
The atmosphere in the meeting room was on the lighter side, as Myrrhaven and Lyonesse Kingdom were both friendly kingdoms.
Vulkaris and Umbrenfall, on the other hand, were their enemies and on the same side.
The Verdant Abyss Forest was at the center of four kingdoms, and their destination was in the enemy territory of the Umbrenfall Kingdom.
"I still don't understand. Why are we setting the camp in Umbrenfall? We can do it in our kingdom, right?" a young dwarf complained.
"You know the answer, Ludrik," his sister, Morgrid, mumbled in an annoyed tone, sitting just beside.
Everyone knew that after a heated discussion, all four kingdoms had unanimously decided that the entry point to the Verdant Abyss Forest would be from the Umbrenfall Kingdom.
Because that side of the forest had weaker beasts compared to other kingdoms, so it was relatively easy to enter.
And despite knowing this, he countered, "Haah, since we are already attacking the beasts, why not do it from the stronger side? You know how those evil bastards think, right? They could very well be planning to assassin—" he drawled in frustration.
Rhegor, their father, interjected in a sharp tone. "Ludrik, we have already talked about this. Stop now," he said, stopping him mid-sentence in front of everybody.
Embarrassed, he stood up. "You guys discuss here. I'll check on my party and get some fresh air while enjoying the view," he said and quickly left the room.
Seeing this, Vivienne also stood up. Glancing at Aelindra and Morgrid, she said, "Let's go, we should also check on our team members."
They both stood up quickly with faint smiles. "Yes, let's go," Aelindra said softly, which was barely audible.
The thing was, no one liked being in these meetings. Their parents had forced them into it to learn about diplomacy, saying it could benefit them after taking the throne.
"Sit down, Aelindra." The elf queen quickly stopped her in a strict tone, while King Edmund mused with a thoughtful look.
"Let them go, Syltheria. I have something to discuss with you all. In fact, send everyone who is in this room," he said in a calm tone.
Everyone looked at him sharply, confused. but nevertheless followed as he said.
"Do as he says." She commanded, and everyone nodded, leaving the room quietly.
But when Rex and Darius stood up, he asked Rex to stay behind. Darius, understanding that he was not needed here, muttered, "Haha, I'll take my leave."
To which Rex interjected innocently, "He can stay. He is my brother and knows everything about me," looking at King Edmund.
"No, Rex—" Darius began, but was interrupted by Rhegor in an impatient tone.
"Ohh, sit already. Let's get this started," he said. Darius looked at Edmund and sat down quietly, feeling awkward.
{Rex, what is happening?} he questioned telepathically.
{Listen quietly and you will understand,} Rex replied, because even he didn't know why the king had asked them to sit down.
Now, only the adults were in the room while all their children were outside, taking in the beautiful view from the flying ship.
The previous lighter atmosphere had somewhat started to shift to a heavier one.
"So what is it, Edmund?" Rhegor shot impatiently.
"Everyone is gone, right? I don't want this news to be heard by anyone other than the four of you," the king said again to make sure no one was around.
"No one's around. What is it, Edmund? You seem oddly serious," the elf king said in a serious tone.
"Good. This is Rex," he began, gesturing toward Rex, who wryly smiled at everyone with a polite nod.
"And that is my brother, Darius," Rex introduced, making sure they also respected Darius—or at least pretended to.
"Y-yes, this is Darius," the king repeated in an awkward tone.
"Alright, Rex here has an Aspect that could help us advance to the next rank," he spilled about Rex after thinking it over.
