I Cast Forbidden Spells Until the World Breaks-Chapter 93 Kill Any Interference
Zayne could not wait to take off his Blazing Moon Necklace and replace it with the Singularity Ring.
The Blazing Moon Necklace was only a high grade item. Its Spirit Power bonus was just 200 points and could not compare to the Singularity Ring at all.
The moment he put the ring on, Zayne immediately felt a clear surge in his Spirit Power. Everything around him became sharper and more vivid within his perception.
He then checked the storage space inside the Singularity Ring. The interior space was roughly the size of a four bedroom apartment with a living room and dining area. By his estimate, it was around two hundred square meters.
After equipping the Singularity Ring, Zayne’s Spirit Power reached 2137.5 points. It seemed that for every ten points of Spirit Power, the storage space expanded by one square meter.
He placed the dozen high grade items he had extorted from Garen, along with the Blazing Moon Necklace, into the Singularity Ring. He also stored all his luggage inside.
With the Singularity Ring, he no longer needed to carry bulky bags around.
After Zayne received his national champion rewards, it was time to award the runner up and third place. Their rewards were far inferior to Zayne’s. Both their skill scrolls and equipment were only epic grade.
Once the ceremony ended, all the champions gathered at the Bitnoris teleport hub to return to their respective cities.
"Zayne, you are going to Imperial Capital Academy, right? Wait for me. I will come find you."
Eva waved at Zayne before disappearing into the teleportation array.
Zayne smiled faintly and stepped onto the array as well.
As the world around him shattered and reassembled, Zayne returned to familiar ground.
The moment he appeared, a barrage of crackling sounds erupted. Gongs and drums thundered all at once, startling him.
"He is back. Our national champion is back."
Amid excited shouts, Old Shipyard Port City Lord Tiger rushed over with a massive crowd, surrounding Zayne in an instant.
"Quick, let me touch him and get some champion luck."
"I never thought our tiny Old Shipyard Port would produce a national champion. This is huge."
"I do not have much education, all I can say is holy hell, that is insane."
Everyone crowded around Zayne, faces filled with excitement. Tiger himself was glowing with pride.
Producing a national champion during his term was a massive achievement for his career. After hearing the news, he had been grinning like an idiot the whole time.
"I am Zayne’s principal. Move aside. I am his principal."
Old Shipyard Port High School principal Norton was squeezed into a corner. He shouted at the top of his lungs, but the noise drowned him out completely.
Faced with the frenzied crowd, even Zayne felt his scalp tingle. The worst were the middle aged women who claimed to be sharing in his luck but were clearly just groping him. It sent chills all over his body.
Someone even tried to rip his clothes off in the chaos, nearly scaring him half to death.
After a tremendous struggle, Zayne finally squeezed his way out of the dense crowd. Even then, the people behind him kept chasing.
"Zayne, get over here. Hop on."
Double J suddenly appeared at the corner. Zayne did not even have time to process the wording and leaped straight onto his back.
Whoosh.
As a seasoned womanizer, Double J’s speed was nothing to joke about. He darted through alleys with Zayne on his back, twisting and turning until they completely shook off the crowd and returned to Astrachior’s small courtyard.
Astrachior was brewing tea. When he saw Zayne’s disheveled state, a smile appeared on his face.
"Not easy being a national champion, is it."
Zayne wiped off a lipstick mark that he did not know who had left and smiled bitterly.
"Not easy, but the rewards were pretty good."
Astrachior smiled and handed him a cup of tea.
"A national champion represents the face of Aurelion. The rewards will never be lacking. Now that you are back, rest well. There are more important matters ahead."
"What kind of matters."
Zayne was curious.
"The Gate of Apocalypse has appeared."
Astrachior’s gaze swept briefly across Zayne’s abdomen. Inside, a key lay quietly.
Zayne’s expression turned serious. He already knew the importance of the Gate of Apocalypse from Astrachior.
That gate had once revealed seven Origin Relics.
"Teacher, do you mean for me to go to the Gate of Apocalypse."
Zayne asked cautiously.
"To be precise, you will go with me and Double J."
Astrachior smiled.
"Alright, teacher. I will head to the Transcender Guild first. I have some equipment to deal with."
Zayne nodded obediently and left the courtyard.
Truthfully, he had never fully understood why Astrachior took him in as a disciple.
Especially since Astrachior’s class was Diviner, an extremely mysterious profession. Zayne had even suspected that Dano and the investigators were part of a setup orchestrated by Astrachior.
The goal would be to push him into desperation so that he would owe Astrachior a massive favor.
Because of that, Zayne had always kept a bit of guard up around Astrachior.
Growing up in the slums had taught him one thing. There was no such thing as a free lunch.
If his guess was correct, then Astrachior was planning something big. And the only thing about Zayne worth coveting to someone like Astrachior was his immortality.
But regardless of whether Astrachior was good or bad, Zayne lacked the strength to resist. For now, he could only play the role of a well behaved disciple.
After Zayne walked far away, Astrachior suddenly began coughing violently.
A mouthful of bright red blood sprayed out. His complexion turned several shades paler.
"Double J."
"Astrachior, I am here."
The usually sleazy Double J was deadly serious now.
"For the next period of time, stay with Zayne. Do not let him wander off. You must ensure that nothing happens to him before he reaches the Gate of Apocalypse. If there are any who interfere, kill them."
Astrachior spoke calmly.
"Yes, Astrachior."
Double J vanished in a few flickers, leaving no trace behind.
With his skills, silently tailing someone was trivial.
After both Zayne and Double J left, only Astrachior remained in the courtyard.
He lifted his head and gazed calmly at the sky until the sun set and the stars filled the heavens.
Night fell like ink, stars scattered across the sky.
Astrachior stood there quietly.
His gaze seemed to pierce the darkness, seeing things invisible to ordinary people.
An ancient compass appeared silently in his hand. It was engraved with intricate patterns and mysterious symbols.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Vast Spirit Power surged like an ocean. The compass began to glow faintly, echoing the stars above.
Bathed in starlight, Astrachior looked solemn and unfathomable.
His fingers slid gently across the compass. Each touch felt like a conversation with the stars. After a moment, he put the compass away. His face grew even more haggard.
"It seems Zayne still does not fully trust me. But at this point, I can only force the attempt. My time is truly running out."
