I Got My System Late, But I'll Become Beastgod-Chapter 136: Sensing the Core
Chapter 136: Sensing the Core
Aamir looked at Vyuk with a spark of determination in his eyes.
"So what are we going to do first, Vyuk?"
Vyuk crossed his arms and gave a confident nod.
"First, I’ll teach you how to sense Pran—your life force."
"Alright," Aamir said. "But how do I do that?"
Vyuk stepped back and gestured for Aamir to stand still.
"Relax your body. Don’t force anything. Just... breathe. Use your senses. Try to listen—not with your ears, but with your soul."
Aamir blinked.
"Umm—"
Vyuk raised a brow.
"What?"
Aamir scratched his head awkwardly.
"Just saying... my senses are a bit different."
"How so?" Vyuk asked, curiosity piqued.
"Because of my ability," Aamir explained. "When I defeat beasts, I evolve. And that includes my senses. My hearing, smell, and vision—all of them have become beast-like. Sharper. Stronger."
Vyuk whistled.
"Now that’s something. So you can already hear better than most people?"
Aamir nodded.
"Easily. I can hear insects crawling underground if I focus hard enough."
Vyuk chuckled softly.
"Well, that’ll make this easier than I thought."
Aamir didn’t mention the real reason.
I can’t tell him I have a system, Aamir thought. And honestly, there’s no need to.
Vyuk cleared his throat and grew serious again.
"Alright, now listen. You said your Adrenaline Energy comes from inside your body, right?"
"Yeah," Aamir replied.
"It’s generated internally. We use it to enhance our bodies or project techniques. But we can’t absorb it from the outside. Nobody can."
Vyuk nodded slowly, as if confirming a theory.
"That’s what I thought. See, Pran—life force—is different. It exists everywhere. In the ground. In the trees. Even in the air you breathe. Everything that’s alive has it."
"Wait," Aamir said, his eyes widening.
"You’re saying I can sense the energy of everything around me?"
"Exactly," Vyuk said with a knowing grin.
"But before you sense the outside world, you need to find your own Pran. So, tell me—where do you feel your Adrenaline Energy most?"
Aamir placed a hand over his stomach.
"Here. Around this area."
Vyuk walked over and tapped just below Aamir’s navel.
"Right under this spot is your core. That’s where life force gathers. Your Pran Node. That’s where we’ll begin."
Aamir nodded.
Vyuk motioned for him to sit.
"Close your eyes. Sit comfortably. Breathe slowly. Focus your attention on your core. Don’t rush it. Just feel."
Aamir took a deep breath and sat cross-legged on the stone platform. The jungle sounds faded into the background as his eyes closed.
He focused.
At first, there was only silence.
Then—
A faint pulse.
It wasn’t a heartbeat. It was deeper, slower... like the rhythm of the world itself. A steady thump just below his belly.
There... Is that it?
The pulse grew stronger. It felt ancient—like something that had always been a part of him, just waiting to be noticed.
The air around him stilled. Even the rustling leaves quieted.
Then—
FLASH.
A brief spark of warmth surged through his core, spreading like a ripple across his stomach, chest, and limbs.
His breath hitched.
That... felt different. It wasn’t adrenaline. It wasn’t mana. It was calmer. Deeper.
A serene stillness took hold of his mind. His thoughts, usually fast and storming, now slowed.
It was like dipping his soul into a quiet river.
Vyuk watched him with a small smile.
He found it that quickly...? This kid really is something.
Aamir’s eyes opened slowly.
A faint glow shimmered in his pupils—just for a second—before fading.
"I felt it," Aamir said. "Just a flicker... but it was there."
Vyuk nodded, impressed.
"Good. That flicker is just the beginning. Now that you’ve found it, it’s yours to develop. The more you connect with it, the more powerful it becomes."
Aamir flexed his fingers slowly.
"It felt... old. Like it’s been there for centuries, just waiting for me to see it."
"That’s because it has," Vyuk said, looking at the sinking sun.
"Pran doesn’t burn like Adrenaline or Mana. It hums. Calm and deep. But when mastered..."
He smiled.
"You’ll shake mountains with a whisper."
Suddenly, a crimson screen flickered before Aamir’s eyes.
[System Notification]
New Energy Source Detected
Energy Type: Pran (Life Force)
Aamir blinked. So the system recognizes it too...
"So what now?" he asked aloud.
Vyuk nodded.
"Now, just like you let Adrenaline Energy flow through your body—try to do the same with Pran. But don’t fuse it with your Adrenaline yet. That could hurt you."
Aamir raised an eyebrow.
"Huh... it’s like you read my mind."
Vyuk smirked.
"Been teaching too long not to know what you’re thinking."
Aamir exhaled slowly and closed his eyes again.
This time, he focused on the faint pink glow he had seen earlier. It reappeared—like a soft orb floating inside his core.
He reached for it gently with his mind.
Tried to move it.
Failed.
Then again—calmer this time. He pushed softly, guiding the pink orb upward toward his heart.
It moved... then stopped.
He didn’t quit.
I can do this, Aamir thought, his expression focused. I just need time.
Aamir kept trying.
Again and again, he focused, not rushing the process.
Four hours passed in deep meditation.
His breathing stayed steady, his body still—yet inside, a battle of will raged.
He failed many times... but each failure taught him something.
And finally...
The pink orb of Pran shifted again.
It moved—slowly, shakily—but this time, it responded to his will.
I did it... but it takes too much focus, Aamir thought, his brow soaked in sweat.
His clothes clung to his skin. His arms trembled lightly from the sheer concentration. Even his heartbeat had changed rhythm—slower, more controlled.
From a short distance, Vyuk watched in silence.
Then, with a calm voice, he said,
"That’s enough for today. You’ve done well. Let your body rest."
Aamir slowly opened his eyes. His vision was hazy at first, but it cleared quickly.
Before he could say anything, a familiar chirp echoed through the clearing.
"Chirp!"
Spark—who had been sitting like a statue all this time—suddenly leapt forward.
Aamir caught him mid-air and chuckled softly as Spark licked his cheek.
"Yeah, yeah... I’m okay, boy."
He stood up, his muscles sore but his spirit lighter.
"Let’s head back. I’m sure everyone’s waiting."
Vyuk raised an eyebrow as they began walking.
"Wait. You built a house here?"
Aamir smiled.
"Of course. I had to make a proper place to stay."
Vyuk shook his head, half amused, half surprised.
"Look at me... stuck in this ruined temple for seventeen hundred years. And you? You show up and build a house like it’s nothing."
Aamir laughed.
"It’s not just me. These guys helped."
He pointed at Spark, who proudly puffed out his tiny chest.
Vyuk chuckled.
"So, you’ve got more beasts, huh? What are you, a beast tamer?"
Aamir scratched his head.
"Not exactly. You could say... I’m more like their leader."
He glanced at Spark, who climbed up onto his shoulder.
"Or maybe just their babysitter."
Vyuk stretched his arms as he followed Aamir down the winding jungle path.
"Well, let’s go then. I want to see this so-called ’pack’ of yours."
Aamir laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
"If you say so. But uh... fair warning, they’re a lively bunch."
As they approached the clearing, the small wooden house came into view—nestled under the large roots of an ancient tree, partially surrounded by stone walls Aamir had reinforced himself. Despite its humble size, the place had warmth. Life.
Guarding the front, like a statue carved from battle itself, was Hornhead—his massive frame unmoving, thick armored plates glinting under the sunlight. On his back, casually lounging, was Tony, the tiny monkey beast with wild eyes and twitchy hands, munching on something unidentifiable.
Aamir smiled.
"Just like always..."
The moment Hornhead spotted him, his eyes lit up. He thundered forward and dropped to one knee before Aamir, bowing his head in loyalty.
Spark, still perched on Aamir’s shoulder, chirped and immediately leapt onto Hornhead’s horn, rubbing his head against it.
Vyuk raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed.
"A level 4 beast, showing that much respect? Not bad. Not bad at all."
Aamir shrugged modestly.
"We’ve been through a lot together. They trust me. I trust them."
Tony squeaked from atop Hornhead’s back and gave Vyuk a curious wave.
Vyuk gave a small nod back.
"You even have a monkey beast that knows manners. You really are something else, kid."
Aamir looked around.
"So... where is everybody else?"
Hornhead pointed with one thick finger toward the trees behind the house—toward the pond.
"Oh. Bath time already?" Aamir grinned. "Figures. Come on."
Together, they made their way past the house, through a narrow path lined with wildflowers and glowing vines. Soon, the sound of splashing water and distant beast-chatter echoed through the trees.
Aamir and Vyuk reached the shimmering pond, where sunlight filtered through the mist like golden ribbons. The water reflected the surrounding jungle canopy, giving the place a sacred, dreamlike feel.
Aamir stretched his arms and nodded toward the pond.
"So this is our bathing area. Clean, fresh, and beast-tested daily."
