Chapter 96: Another Win

From the audience stands, Riya, Seenu, Raj, and Meera watched with bright eyes as Aamir’s team clinched victory.

"Yes! They did it!" Riya shouted, her fists clenched with excitement. "Now it’s my turn. I’ll win the next round too!"

Seenu grinned beside her. "This round is going to be fun."

Sinki, arms crossed and standing beside him, nodded. "You’re right. I’m looking forward to it."

Aamir returned to the group, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow, but his face was glowing with satisfaction. "Well, those guys weren’t bad at all. But Riya, you’re up next. Show them what you’re made of."

Riya smirked confidently. "You got it."

Meanwhile, in the audience, Kunal sat beside Ji-Won, both watching the arena with intense focus.

"This... feels different," Kunal muttered.

Ji-Won leaned forward, intrigued. "Different how?"

Kunal’s eyes didn’t leave the field. "I think my friends are going to make it far. I can feel it."

Ji-Won shrugged. "Maybe. But don’t forget, there are a lot of powerful people here. It won’t be easy."

The host’s voice boomed through the stadium.

"Now! For the next match: Team 2 versus Team 11! Please make your way to the arena!"

Riya walked confidently toward the stage, accompanied by Misaki and a boy from Zhonghua named Shang Ling. Across from them stood Team 11: three boys from Galvia, Calonia, and Valkoria—each of them with an arrogant smirk plastered across their faces.

Their expressions said it all. They were underestimating them.

But Shang Ling stood calm as still water. He turned to his teammates and gave a small nod.

"Sisters," he said in a composed voice, "tell me your abilities. I’ll share mine. That way, we can coordinate."

Riya replied, "I’m a mage."

Misaki added, "I control energy. My greatest asset is my speed."

Shang Ling smiled. "Perfect. I’m a mage as well. I have a plan."

Suddenly, the arena shifted. The ground cracked and reshaped itself until it became a vast, scorching desert.

The match had begun.

Riya and Shang Ling moved quickly into position, but Misaki stayed behind.

Team 11’s members grinned. Seeing Misaki isolated, they made the mistake of rushing at her, thinking she was the weakest.

As they closed in, the ground beneath them turned to mush—thick, heavy mud. Riya had cast a water spell, transforming the sand into a trap.

The boys struggled, but before they could react, Shang Ling raised his hand. Flames danced across his fingers.

Fwoosh!

The wet sand turned rock-solid, trapping their legs. They were stuck.

Misaki’s eyes gleamed. "My turn."

In a flash, she moved.

Zap! Zap! Zap!

All three opponents’ buttons turned red in rapid succession.

The crowd erupted.

"And Team 2 wins!" John, the host, shouted.

Another victory.

In the high observation chamber, twelve figures sat atop golden thrones arranged in a semi-circle—rulers from the twelve greatest nations of the world. Magical screens hovered in front of them, showing every moment of the tournament.

Queen Ivanka of Calonia leaned forward, her eyes narrowed in irritation. Her sharp nails dug into the armrest of her seat.

"Why... Why are these Aryavratan brats winning every single match?" she fumed silently, her expression twisting with contempt. Then, slowly, her lips curled into a cruel smile. "Let’s see how long that luck lasts. The next round will be... interesting."

Beside her, the King of Valtania let out a deep chuckle, stroking his grey-streaked beard. "You’ve nurtured some incredible talents, King Veerendra," he said, glancing at the monarchs of Aryavrata, Kyokai, and Zhonghua. "Your nations might dominate this tournament if this continues."

King Veerendra of Aryavrata gave a composed nod, his eyes focused on the screen. "Let’s hope they can handle what comes next."

The Queen of Kyokai folded her fan, a calculating look in her eyes. "Raw talent is only the beginning. Surviving what lies ahead will take far more."

Meanwhile, in the contestants’ zone...

Aamir leaned back on the bench, watching the replay of Riya’s match on the screen. The arena showed the three defeated boys being carried off by medics.

"This tournament’s too easy," Aamir muttered under his breath. "I don’t like it. It feels like a setup."

His instincts screamed that something bigger was coming.

Before he could spiral further into his thoughts, Riya and Misaki returned, smiling brightly. Riya ran up and threw her hands in the air.

"Look! We did it!" she said, beaming. "Now, I hope I get to fight you next, Misaki!"

Misaki smirked, brushing her silver hair back. "Yeah. That would be exciting."

Aamir looked at them both and paused. Their eyes weren’t just full of excitement—they carried resolve. A fire burning in both of them, unshaken by their easy victory.

He smiled faintly. They’re getting stronger.

Aamir looked at the panel displaying the upcoming match information and thought, "Hmm, so it’s Team 3 vs. Team 10, huh? Well, let’s see who wins this one."

Just then, a loud ding echoed through the arena.

The host’s voice rang out again. "Next match: Team 3 versus Team 10! Please head to the stage immediately!"

The moment the host announced the next match, Seenu rose from his seat, a calm but determined look on his face. Beside him, Sinki stood as well, silently cracking his knuckles. Their presence alone turned a few heads in the contestant zone.

Joining them was a girl who drew immediate attention from both the crowd and the contestants. With sharp, focused eyes behind her rectangular spectacles, Carli from Maravalia’s Dominion Celestials Institute walked with an eerie grace. Her long ponytail swayed with each step, her crimson coat fluttering against the breeze. She was beautiful—but something about her felt cold, mechanical... like death in motion.

As she stepped onto the battlefield, Carli didn’t even glance at the audience. Her eyes locked directly onto the opposing team—three powerfully built boys from Arora, Danovia, and Valkoria. Their auras flared up with arrogance, but Carli barely blinked.

She turned to Seenu and Sinki.

"I think this fake tournament is already dragging," she said flatly, adjusting her glasses. "Let’s end this fight quickly and move to the next round."

Seenu shrugged, grinning slightly. "Oh yeah? Got a plan?"

Carli looked at him and shook her head. "I’m not the one who makes strategies. I execute them."

Sinki stepped forward, arms crossed and eyes glowing faintly. "I’ve got one."

He leaned in and quickly laid out his plan. Seenu’s grin widened. Carli simply nodded.

The battlefield changed again—this time into a battlefield of broken stone platforms floating above a misty abyss, like shattered ruins suspended in the sky.

The match began.

The opposing team charged in instantly, aiming to take out Carli first, sensing she might be the weakest.

Bad decision.

Carli moved with terrifying precision.

Instead of directly engaging the opponents, she aimed her energy gun downward. A concentrated burst of blue energy exploded from the barrel, blasting apart the stone platform beneath the enemies’ feet.

Crack! Boom!

Chunks of stone flew into the air. Before the opponents could stabilize, Carli followed up—not by attacking, but by kicking pieces of broken stone toward them with flawless control. The stones flew just past them—fast enough to force them into defensive movements, but not close enough to land a hit.

They thought she had missed.

But she wasn’t aiming to hurt them.

She was setting the stage.

While their attention was locked on Carli, Seenu appeared behind them like a phantom. His body surged with golden adrenaline energy, veins glowing faintly as he raised his sword. A burst of flame erupted along the blade, blazing like a torch in the dim battlefield.

At the same time, Sinki moved with surgical efficiency. With sharp, calculated slashes, he carved fallen stone chunks into pillar-like shapes, stacking them quickly into a trap formation.

Seenu grinned. "Light it up."

With a roar, he channeled his fire into the stone pillars—superheating them until they glowed red-hot. The cage they created shimmered with heat, making the very air ripple. Escape was no longer an option. The enemy trio was surrounded—trapped inside a prison of flames.

Touching those pillars would mean instant burns. And they knew it.

The moment of hesitation was all Carli needed.

Click—Zzzap!

She raised her gun again and fired three precise shots. Blue energy streaked through the cage like lightning.

Zap. Zap. Zap.

All three red buttons on the enemies’ chests lit up.

"Team 3 wins!" the host’s voice boomed across the arena. "All opponents eliminated!"

The crowd went wild.

Even the normally stoic rulers in the observation room exchanged glances.

"That girl," murmured the King of Zhonghua. "She didn’t just fight... she orchestrated."

Queen Ivanka of Calonia clenched her fists. "Another Aryavratan-linked team... victorious. How are they so coordinated?"

Back in the contestant zone, Aamir whistled low. "Damn... I was not expecting that."

Misaki said, "They didn’t just win... they humiliated them."

Riya smiled faintly. "Seenu’s planning, Carli’s precision, Sinki’s execution... they were perfect."

Aamir looked up at the board showing remaining teams.

Only a few rounds left before the quarterfinals.
