I Have a Dice Left by a God-Chapter 334 - 201: Steel Wool Ball
Li Xin changed his posture, seemingly feeling the situation too; he hoped the King would win. As for the Song of Hell, it held some personal grudges.
"Is the turbulence in Hedan quite thrilling?" Christie chuckled softly.
Li Xin shook his head, "It’s exhilarating as a story, providing some creative inspiration. Looking at the whole Marquis William incident, this Prince Oliver is not only ruthless but also deeply scheming, planning every step meticulously. Someone like him seeking the Song of Hell must have conditions and prices to pay that aren’t ordinary. Clearly, he won’t be content with maintaining the status quo. Actually, the worst off are the ordinary citizens, who have done nothing wrong."
Christie froze for a moment, then tightly hugged Li Xin, "The King is also worried that Oliver might resort to some mad actions without scruples."
"Does the Night Patrol have some dealings with the King too?" Li Xin suddenly asked.
Christie twisted her body a bit, "We’re just employees carrying out tasks; the final result still depends on the contest between the King and Oliver. If you want to know more, you’ll have to pay more."
Li Xin took a deep breath, giving Christie’s enticing backside a hard slap, "Don’t mess around. There’s no luck in this matter. Neither the King nor Prince Oliver is a soft-hearted person. Once involved, it’s hard to survive."
"Brother, you should be more concerned about yourself. Keep a low profile for a while. Don’t forget that Bocuse views you differently. Avoid drawing Prince Oliver’s attention; they are currently taking the upper hand and are sure to launch a counterattack." Christie reminded.
Li Xin was also startled. There’s no such thing as a free feast; Bocuse being so focused on him wouldn’t be considering him as an ingredient, would he??
Christie giggled, "Now you know fear? I saw you were quite pleased in Blue Dye."
"Would I be scared of a chef?" Li Xin wouldn’t retreat in front of Christie.
"Gourmets aren’t good at direct combat, but some abilities are hard to guard against. However, I believe there won’t be any big moves before Mother God’s celebration ends. The grandeur of Glory Celebration determines the strength of Wish Power’s concentration, which is crucial for the Golden Tree. The Earth Temple is sure to defend it, certainly not allowing Oliver to cause trouble at this time." Christie said. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Li Xin grasped the mindset of the Earth Temple. The balance between the King and Prince Oliver is ideal, but neither the King nor Oliver thinks so. The King has invoked the power of Moon God, while Oliver has sought the Song of Hell. Putting oneself in Oliver’s shoes, he likely wouldn’t care about the Golden Tree’s situation. From the King’s perspective, he certainly doesn’t want to be a puppet either. This conflict is irreconcilable.
Suddenly, Li Xin had a flash of inspiration, "There are two groups of Inner Demons, one led by Prince Oliver. He’s definitely using Dark Cuisine. So many people are missing, but Duke Zheng and others didn’t consume it. Who ate them then? What’s the real meaning of Dark Cuisine? It’s a path. He previously gave up Hidden Power for the throne, but now that he can’t be King, he must want power. Dark Cuisine, which enhances rapidly, might have been eaten entirely by Prince Oliver himself?"
Christie’s body trembled slightly, tightened, as they locked eyes, apparently recognizing Li Xin’s speculation. The motive was sufficient; it’s just that, at the banquet, no one dared to let the Prince eat, and no one thought of this, missing the best opportunity.
"Indeed, the ultimate purpose of Dark Cuisine is to gain power; the manipulative effect is only a side effect. Oliver invested so much effort; why would he use it on others?" Christie nodded.
"The perspective was wrong when considering the issue. With Oliver’s status, he has plenty of means to control and win people over; Dark Cuisine is not a necessity." Li Xin said, observing that everyone, including the King, jumped to conclusions, leading to hasty actions later.
"Another group is the Song of Hell, creating Artificial Humans likely in line with Oliver’s demands—possibly to assassinate the King, or for something else. But if it’s about assassinating the King, why not strike directly? It’s a bit inexplicable to go to such lengths, making it well-known—which seems illogical." Li Xin paused, holding Christie while musing.
"The King isn’t so easily assassinated. Not to mention the Earth Temple would absolutely not permit it; on issues regarding shaking Church Court foundations, it doesn’t negotiate. The King’s Imperial Guard isn’t a joke; there’s surely an Angel stationed in the Royal Palace. The Demigods at the Observatory Tower you think just stargaze? Even the Great Angel would struggle to approach. Artificial Humans can’t possibly possess such strength; it’s likely a method to weaken some power of the Earth Temple. Foreign Angels won’t work either; it equates to declaring war. Secret organizations like Song of Hell are very powerful, but daring to assassinate Moncalleta’s King is unlikely. Besides, Hedan has not only the Earth Temple but also the Withered Wood Monastery—one of the five Holy Lands. Hidden Power is unfathomable, and anyone with such strength would be detected upon entering Hedan." Christie blinked while speaking, her long lashes gently trembling.
Li Xin also grew curious, feeling this seemed like an endless loop. Yet, Song of Hell invested so heavily in Artificial Humans; it shouldn’t be in vain. Could they circumvent some power of the Earth Temple with Artificial Humans, creating vulnerabilities?
Seems a bit speculative, but simply from a power standpoint, producing an invincible Artificial Human seems amusing too. He had witnessed those terrifying Hidden Powers, beyond what ordinary people can contend with. Oliver, Song of Hell, Moon God’s Court, and the King are all secretly planning something. What’s Moon God’s Court’s role in all this?
Christie turned over, her clear eyes gazing at Li Xin, "You look kind of handsome when you’re serious."
Li Xin’s eyes widened, his train of thought disrupted, "What? Only kind of handsome? If you don’t call me brother today, tomorrow I’ll finish Utopia Mountain!"
"I’m not calling you anything; finishing it is not an option either."
"Let’s see if your stubbornness outlasts my..."
...
Li Xin awoke and noticed the sun had already risen high; the battle last night was fierce, and Christie was exhausted, but her stubbornness was real, refusing to admit defeat.
Christie’s bed was fragrant and soft, reaching out to find nothing, rolling slightly, feeling an inexplicable comfort and satisfaction. He stretched lazily, leisurely descended the stairs, ate the breakfast Christie prepared, satisfaction +1, greeting another bright and energetic day.
He heard the president agreed to increase his manuscript fee. Li Xin felt life was becoming more promising. On the coach, watching the bustling streets, he found himself growing fond of Hedan.
