I Have a Dice Left by a God-Chapter 407 - 274: Old Fang
"Has the Night Patrol become so powerful now that they’ve sent a Great Angel?" Simmons, unaware of the details, was also shocked.
Achilles shook his head, "That’s impossible. If such a level of power appeared, the Earth Temple wouldn’t be oblivious. While the Main God Church and the Church Court might fight for territory, there are some rules that are tacitly understood. Even an Angel would be tantamount to declaring war on the Earth Temple. The Funeral Attendant’s investigation reported four Angel-level powers: one related to a sealed object, one from an Ancient Dragon bloodline, and another unknown power, which caused fatal damage."
"Unknown?" Simmons asked curiously. This statement was rather peculiar.
"Yes, unknown. I suspect it’s Avogadro. Hmm, it must be him; you know him better than I do." Achilles downed a full glass, seemingly envisioning the combat scenario.
"Brother Li?" Simmons stood there, dumbfounded.
"Perhaps that was his true purpose for coming to Hedan. I knew he wasn’t here just for tourism," Achilles said casually, "What else do you know?"
Simmons smiled wryly and took a sip of his drink, "I previously participated in the investigation of the Inner Demon case, but I’ve been out since preparing for the Glory Battle; my grandfather wouldn’t allow me to partake. I know nothing about the subsequent events. After the incident at the arena, the entire George Family was restricted by the Zheng Family, anxious but unable to leave."
Simmons was candid, as the Prince in front of him was well aware of his relationship with Li Xin. It was better to speak openly than to conceal anything. Besides, his actions could be verified.
Inside, he was still extremely shocked. He, too, had doubts—is Brother Li still Brother Li...? Compared to this event, the situation in the Celestial Capital seemed minor. Divine Angel-level power, and an old-school path, even alerting the Pope to intervene. This... just thinking about it is chilling.
"Let’s toast to Avogadro. No matter what, he helped us significantly, but unfortunately, even he couldn’t escape death. When a deity acts, mortals stand no chance." Achilles drank another large glass.
Simmons’s heart skipped a beat. He knew the inside story and had absolute faith in Brother Li’s power. Involving Angels was surprising yet somehow made sense. But facing the Pope, this...
"I initially thought of sparring with him once the matter settled. I guess he should have Angel-level power too," Achilles said.
The drink reached his lips, yet he tasted nothing. Is Brother Li dead?
Simmons kept drinking, his mind a whirl, responding to Achilles’s words. Thankfully, Achilles mostly talked to himself.
Returning to the George estate, Simmons ignored Celestia’s calls and silently locked himself in his room. He began using the Star Disc to contact Li Xin but received no response. Simmons’s heart began to sink; he jumped up from the bed, heading to the Li Long Inn.
In the deep of night, as Simmons arrived, the tenants of the Lirong Inn were already dreaming. Only Old Fang, often moonlighting as a night watchman, was awake.
"Oh my, isn’t it Young Master Simmons? What brings you here at this hour?" Old Fang, initially drowsy, awoke to the sound of the carriage.
"Is Brother Li here?" Simmons asked.
"Young Master Xin? He hasn’t returned for several days. Are you looking for him? I’ll tell him when he returns." Old Fang quickly replied with a smile.
"Did he say where he was going?" Simmons asked.
"That I do not know, Young Master Simmons. Would you like to come in and sit?" Old Fang invited warmly.
"No need, ... Has Dragon Mother returned?" Simmons asked again.
"Dragon Mother went back to Li Long. She probably won’t return soon. Are you looking for Dragon Mother for something? If it’s a small matter, I might help. You seem a bit unwell; want me to do a reading? It’s an overseas Secret Art, very accurate." In the endless night, Old Fang, unable to sleep, saw a business opportunity and wanted to seize it.
Simmons wasn’t originally interested in this, but feeling empty inside, he nodded at Old Fang’s words. Old Fang immediately took Simmons to a stall in the courtyard, "Come, come, Young Master, have a seat. What do you want to know?"
Simmons thought for a moment, "I want to know how my friend is doing now, whether he’s in danger."
"Oh, that’s great; finding people is our specialty. Just think of your friend’s name, then draw a lot." Saying this, he pulled out a bamboo tube, shook it in his hand, and handed it to Simmons.
Thinking of Li Xin, Simmons drew a lot from the bamboo tube and handed it to Old Fang. Old Fang accepted it with a smile but his face darkened.
"Ahem, Young Master, this doesn’t count. Let’s draw again, ha ha. Must be kids in the inn tampering with my lots." Then he tossed the lot aside and shook the tube again, "Aha, this time for sure."
Simmons skeptically drew another and handed it to Old Fang. Old Fang eyed it for a second, then... the bamboo tube burst open, with lots scattering everywhere. "Oh dear, Young Master Simmons, I’m really sorry. How about this time, I won’t charge you."
Simmons smiled wryly, leaving a Gold Lira behind, "If Brother Li and Dragon Mother return, please notify me."
"Oh, my eagle-eyed young master, rest assured. I’ll inform you at the first notice of good news!" Old Fang declared, thumping his chest.
Simmons nodded, glanced at the inn, sighed softly, and returned to the carriage.
"Master, shall we head back?" Child asked.
"Yes, let’s return." Simmons said. Why did Brother Li get involved in Oliver’s matter? Could it truly be Night Patrol business? But something feels off; it doesn’t make sense. Though Night Patrol was indeed involved, Brother Li and the Dragon Race... Dragon Mother???
His internal Dragon Race power came from Dragon Mother. The Ancient Dragon bloodline is exceedingly rare, especially with such power, it’s nearly impossible for a second to appear in the same city.
In a flash, Simmons’s heart, already in suspense, grew even heavier...
After Simmons left, Old Fang slowly packed up his things, took out a compass, and studied it with a frown for a long time. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Justin swaggered, reeking of alcohol, embodying wisdom and living the cat life! Recently, it was as if Justin was living the life of a divine feline, full of freedom. Jingle, jingle, suddenly sensing unfriendly eyes, Justin arched his back, spying the inn’s most useless man, Old Fang, raising a contemptuous gaze.
Thunk...
His tail was pinned under a cane. With fur bristling, Justin bared his claws at Old Fang, restrained in place as Old Fang picked him up by the neck, "Where do you think you’re going!"
Facing unassuming Old Fang, Justin felt brave, meowing fiercely: "Old man, I warn you, stop meddling, or I’ll make you..."
Old Fang frowned, eyes suddenly flashing gold, and the arrogant Justin suddenly urinated, trembling and cowering, unable to believe...
Damn, what kind of shady inn is this.
