Chapter 295: Chapter 295: Choice

"What are you saying?" Landon Lawsonโ€™s face changed slightly; what was Felix Orwell talking about? The words left him utterly confused. ๐‘“๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐‘’๐‘ค๐‘’๐˜ฃ๐˜ฏโ„ด๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐“.๐‘๐‘œ๐‘š

Felix Orwell looked at the bewildered man, his furrowed brows were not pretending ignorance at all.

"Isnโ€™t it you helping us in secretly pressuring the Grant Group and Vance Group?"

"Helping whom?" Landon Lawsonโ€™s furrowed brows had not understood, yet Felix Orwell was taken aback. Seeing Landon Lawsonโ€™s expression, he seemed genuinely unaware. What was going on?

Looking at Felix Orwellโ€™s furrowed brows, Landon Lawsonโ€™s eyes gradually furrowed too.

"The Grant Group and Vance Group suddenly received a huge sum of money; wasnโ€™t it you who helped?" Felix Orwell lightly raised his eyebrows, teasingly staring at Landon Lawsonโ€™s eyes. There was a blatant surprise reflected in them, showing he wasnโ€™t lying. But if itโ€™s not Landon Lawson, then who could it be? Felix Orwell, furrowing his handsome brows, really couldnโ€™t think of anyone else daringly opposing them, especially when they know that nowโ€™s the time theyโ€™re targeting these two families.

If itโ€™s not Landon Lawson...

Felix Orwell fell into confusion, and Landon Lawson shared the same puzzled look.

"Itโ€™s not something I did, but who could it be..." Landon Lawson furrowed his handsome brows; his deep eyes were fixed as he mused that in this city, those capable of targeting both the Grant Group and Quinn Group would likely be just the Lawson Group and Yates Group.

Landon Lawson hesitated for a while before speaking slowly, "Could it be Axel Yates?"

"Axel Yates? Previously, Sienna Quinn worked for him; do you think heโ€™d help Miles Grant and Vera Yates? Honestly, apart from you, we canโ€™t think of anyone else who could do such a thing." Felix Orwell scoffed, although knowing deep down that Landon Lawson wasnโ€™t lying and had no need to.

Amidst their speculations, a visitor came to Sienna Quinn.

Seeing Axel Yates pushing the door open, Sienna Quinnโ€™s face lit up with a happy smile, "President Yates, what brought you here on a whim? Why didnโ€™t you mention it earlier? I could have prepared!"

Having worked together for five years, much of Sienna Quinnโ€™s achievements were due in large part to Landon Lawsonโ€™s assistance in her work. Without his help, she might not have reached her current level so quickly.

Axel Yates remained expressionless, his pupils barely flickering as he sat down opposite Sienna Quinn, directly gazing at her exquisite face, and slowly said, "Are you and Landon Lawson really like whatโ€™s said online?"

Apparently, Axel Yates had seen the news too. Sienna Quinn smiled helplessly; todayโ€™s netizens were really swift.

"Actually, I only found out upon returning home that Landon Lawson hadnโ€™t signed the divorce papers back then. Weโ€™re still married now."

Axel Yates nodded, realizing that Sienna Quinn was indeed Landon Lawsonโ€™s wife. His brows furrowed tightly; unexpectedly, his nearly thirty-year first stirring of emotions was for the wife of a nemesisโ€™s son. On one side was the woman he adored, and on the other was his tragically slain parents. The choices, regardless, made it difficult for Axel Yates.

White teeth bit down on her lip, and his cold gaze swept over her repeatedly.

"So, you donโ€™t plan to divorce Landon Lawson?"

Sienna Quinn pursed her lips; Axel Yatesโ€™ behavior today was indeed unusual. Why was he asking about Landon Lawson all this time? When did Axel Yates get so interested in their affairs?

Her pretty brows furrowed further; Sienna Quinn had long known that Axel Yates might have unordinary feelings for her. Gathering her thoughts, she slowly said: "Indeed, Iโ€™ve thought about it. For Chloe, why not reconcile with him just for her sake? Honestly, all these years, Iโ€™ve never been with anyone else; letโ€™s just say itโ€™s for the child." This idea had long existed deep inside Sienna Quinn; there had always been a place for this man in her heart, just without enough reason to convince herself. But now was different; Evan Quinn was her excuse to indulge herself, telling everyone, telling Landon Lawson, that this choice was all for the child.

Listening to Sienna Quinnโ€™s reply, Axel Yates lightly pursed his lips, eyes showing a hint of painful disappointment. Ultimately, she still chose Landon Lawson. Why, in her heart, couldnโ€™t she choose him even once?

Sienna Quinn smiled, the smile originally warming his heart now felt icily cold. Why? Why did it feel so cold and unsettling?

"Alright, Iโ€™ll leave now." Having said that, Axel Yates turned and walked outside, with Sienna Quinn following behind, seeing him off.

His figure paused for a moment, suddenly turned around, looking at the bare, innocent face, and slowly said: "I came over today to tell you something."

"What is it thatโ€™s so secretive?" Sienna Quinn smiled, although her mind remained curious about which company helped Miles Grant and Vera Yates.

Axel Yates paused again, gently coughing before saying: "Youโ€™ve targeted Grant Group and Vance Group, right? Did you know thereโ€™s someone secretly helping them?"

"Really? Who?" Sienna Quinn asked curiously, intensely curious about the person aiding them, pondering deeply what conditions might make them trust them unconditionally.

Axel Yates lightly shook his head, "Itโ€™s me!"

Thud!

Sienna Quinn distinctly felt her heart skip a beat. Why? How could it be? How could her friend help Miles Grant and Vera Yates? It had to be a joke; surely it was.

But when she met Axel Yatesโ€™ serious gaze, she knew her guess wasnโ€™t wrong; Axel Yates wasnโ€™t joking. But why had it come to this? How could they do it?

As though unveiling the doubts in her heart, he slowly said: "Youโ€™re actually the victim in this case. I originally didnโ€™t want to hurt you, but I really have no choice now, Sienna Quinn. I canโ€™t let my parentsโ€™ murder go unavenged."
