I Have A Sword-Chapter 1313: True Saint!
Chapter 1313: True Saint!
The arrival of the Holy Son of the Other Shore had already been announced!
Hearing Zhu Ling's words, Ye Guan frowned in confusion. "He just appeared?"
Zhu Ling nodded, her expression darkening. She hadn't expected that a Holy Son would appear out of nowhere.
Ye Guan chuckled. "Well, isn't that convenient?"
Zhu Ling glanced at him, hesitating as if she wanted to say something.
Ye Guan, however, spoke first. "We have no way out now. We'll just have to face this head-on."
After a brief moment of contemplation, Zhu Ling nodded. "That's true."
She had just sent word that the Holy Son of the Other Shore was with her. If Ye Guan backed out, neither of them would be able to escape the consequences. Impersonating the Holy Son of the Other Shore was a crime punishable by the extermination of ten entire clans.
Ye Guan was right; they had no choice but to push forward.
Seeing Zhu Ling's furrowed brows, Ye Guan smiled. "No need to overthink it. Let's take it one step at a time."
His calm demeanor took Zhu Ling by surprise, but she didn't dwell on it. Nodding, she said, "Let's go."
With that, she led Ye Guan and the Ancestral Dao forward.
The Other Shore Holy City was bustling with activity. The towering buildings, some over a hundred stories high, stood like pillars piercing the heavens, creating an awe-inspiring sight.
Flying was prohibited within the city, so everyone had to move on foot, which only added to the vibrancy of the streets.
Ye Guan curiously looked around. Many shops lined the streets, selling powerful artifacts and treasures, all of impressive quality.
Just then, he stopped in front of a particular shop. It was large, and outside its entrance stood five cages, each containing a strong, muscular man.
They were barbarian slaves.
Ye Guan studied them closely, noting their powerful auras. Their physiques were exceptionally robust, far beyond what ordinary human cultivators could achieve.
Zhu Ling said, "Let's keep moving."
Ye Guan snapped out of his thoughts, nodding before following her forward.
Freeing those slaves? That was out of the question. He could barely ensure his own survival at the moment. Trying to take on an impossible task would be nothing short of suicide.
Before long, Zhu Ling led them to the grand temple they had spotted earlier outside the city. Up close, it was even more breathtaking. Looking up, they couldn't even see its peak. The sheer scale of it made them feel insignificant.
The temple shimmered with a faint golden glow, and its luxurious brilliance was unlike anything Ye Guan had ever seen.
Just then, three golden-armored guards armed with long spears appeared behind them.
Zhu Ling's brows furrowed. "Other Shore Holy Guards."
Ye Guan, however, was slightly intrigued.
The guards were powerful, at least at the Dao Channel Realm.
Zhu Ling withdrew her gaze and said, "Let's go."
With that, she led them inside the temple.
The temple's interior was nothing short of breathtaking. An endless starry sky stretched above them, and beneath their feet lay a three-hundred-meter-long golden path leading to a sacred throne at the far end of the hall.
Two groups of figures stood on either side of the hall.
An elder in a crimson robe stood at the forefront of the ground standing on the left side of the hall. People dressed in a similar robe to him were standing behind him, but their attire was a bit different; their robes had black fabric lining the hems and sleeves.
There was another elder standing at the helm of the group on the right side of the hall, and the elder was clad in pristine white robes. His snow-white robes looked untouched by a speck of dust, and his long white hair exuded an air of wisdom.
A row of similarly dressed elders stood behind him. Their faces emanated wisdom and experience.
When Ye Guan and Zhu Ling appeared, an attendant swiftly approached Zhu Ling, and she was holding a black robe.
Bowing respectfully, she carefully draped the robe over Zhu Ling's shoulders before stepping aside.
Zhu Ling strode forward without any hesitation.
Ye Guan and the Ancestral Dao followed after her.
The Ancestral Dao felt uneasy. Damn it, why did I even follow this bastard here? What if he fails to fool these guys? These guys are undoubtedly the elites of the Other Shore, so what am I supposed to do then?
Unfortunately, running wasn't an option either. If he were to flee, the arrogant bastard would silence him permanently.
Just then, Zhu Ling's voice rang in Ye Guan's mind.
"The elder in red is Supreme Leader Shu Ji. He governs the southern territories of the Other Shore. The one in white is the Grand Supreme Leader, in charge of the north. Both of them had clawed their way up from the lowest ranks. They aren't easy to handle, so you must be careful."
Ye Guan remained outwardly calm, but his mind was already analyzing the situation.
He couldn't show any weakness here.
When they reached the center of the grand hall, all eyes turned to Ye Guan.
Supreme Leader Shu Ji's gaze locked onto him. "Seize him!"
Swoosh
Several beams of divine light shot toward Ye Guan, aiming to capture him.
Ye Guan's thumb lightly flicked the hilt of his sword.
Hum!
The Qingxuan Sword soared into the air, emitting a resonant hum.
Boom!
The divine lights shattered. Then, the Qingxuan Sword returned to Ye Guan's grasp. Ye Guan then stepped forward, advancing toward Supreme Leader Shu Ji.
He didn't unleash any aura, but the hall felt the oppressive force of his presence.
Supreme Leader Shu Ji's gaze remained calm, but deep inside, he was shocked.
The young swordsman was stronger than he had anticipated.
The others watched in stunned silence.
What was he going to do?
Ye Guan's figure flickered, and a flash of sword light streaked forward.
Supreme Leader Shu Ji responded instantly, raising a finger. A mysterious golden light radiated from his fingertip, expanding into a dazzling barrier that blocked the incoming sword strike.
The next moment, Ye Guan pressed down with his sword, and the dazzling barrier shattered.
The Qingxuan Sword met Supreme Leader Shu Ji's fingertip.
Snap!
Supreme Leader Shu Ji's finger split open, and blood trickled down from the wound.
However, Ye Guan's face suddenly changed.
A strange energy erupted from Supreme Leader Shu Ji's wound.
Boom!
Ye Guan was forced several steps backward from the attack.
He was forced to retreat, but he wounded Supreme Leader Shu Ji.
Everyone in the hall was shaken by Ye Guan's strength.
Just then, Ye Guan stepped forward once more.
A surge of overwhelming sword intent erupted from him, sweeping across the hall like a tidal wave.
"Holy Son, please quell your anger!" Zhu Ling exclaimed. Then, she stepped between Ye Guan and Supreme Leader Shu Ji.
Ye Guan glanced at Supreme Leader Shu Ji before retracting his aura.
Supreme Leader Shu Ji's gaze turned icy.
Zhu Ling's face was dark as she glared at Shu Ji. "I understand your doubts about his identity, but isn't it a bit too rash to order his capture before confirming the truth?"
Supreme Leader Shu Ji's voice was cold as he replied, "Do you know that it's a crime to assist someone who is impersonating the Holy Son?"
Zhu Ling replied calmly, "If you believe that he's an impostor, then present your evidence."
"And what proof do you have that he's the Holy Son?"
Zhu Ling turned to Ye Guan.
Instead, Ye Guan stared at the Grand Supreme Leader clad in white.
"You must be the Grand Supreme Leader," he said with a smile.
The Grand Supreme Leader nodded slightly. "Indeed."
Ye Guan's smile widened. "The holy Other Shore Ark once mentioned you to me. He said that you have the makings of a True Saint. Now that I've met you in person, I can see that it was right."
There was silence in the hall.
The Grand Supreme Leader gazed at Ye Guan, and his eyes glimmered in deep thought. You think you can fool me?
Ye Guan added, "I was sent here for two reasons—to fight the heretics from the Sea of Suffering and to help the devout believers of the Other Shore become True Saints."
The Grand Supreme Leader's expression remained calm. "Oh?"
He wasn't challenging Ye Guan, as there was simply no need. There was no conflict of interest, and the truth was still uncertain. In other words, it was better to wait and see.
Just then, Ye Guan grabbed the Grand Supreme Leader's arm. "Grand Supreme Leader, let's talk somewhere else."
With that, he took the Grand Supreme Leader straight into the world inside the tiny pagoda.
The moment they stepped inside, the Grand Supreme Leader's face changed drastically.
Ye Guan wasn't surprised by his reaction. He smiled faintly and explained, "Grand Supreme Leader, the spacetime here holds the secrets of becoming a True Saint. With your talent, you will surely become a True Saint within a hundred years."
The Grand Supreme Leader turned to look at Ye Guan.
Ye Guan was smiling calmly, but waves of shock were surging in the elder's heart.
Who the hell was the real Holy Son?!
"Grand Supreme Leader, you're welcome to come here anytime to cultivate."
The Grand Supreme Leader remained silent, but his gaze swept across this strange, unfathomable world. The spacetime here was tempting, and he was already tempted.
After all, becoming a True Saint was everyone's dream of a lifetime!
Throughout history, True Saints were exceedingly rare.
To put it into perspective, the Other Shore Hall had seen 1,328 Grand Supreme Leaders throughout the ages, but not a single one of them became a True Saint.
It was harder than ascending to the heavens!
The Grand Supreme Leader turned to Ye Guan and hesitated briefly before asking, "The Other Shore Ark... did it really say that I have the potential to become a True Saint?"
Ye Guan nodded. "Yes."
The Grand Supreme Leader suddenly bowed deeply toward the void, and his face was filled with emotion as he muttered, "I had no idea that the Other Shore Ark still remembers me..."
By the end of his sentence, his eyes were already glistening with unshed tears.
Ye Guan solemnly said, "Grand Supreme Leader, the heavens have entrusted you with a great mission, and the future of the Other Shore depends on our combined efforts."
The Grand Supreme Leader grabbed Ye Guan's arm, and his voice was filled with conviction as he exclaimed, "Rest assured, Holy Son! A man would willingly lay down his life for those who truly understand him. I'm willing to serve the Holy Son!"
Ye Guan wanted to say something, but in the end, he only sighed softly.
The Grand Supreme Leader was puzzled. "Why do you sigh, Holy Son?"
Ye Guan sighed again and patted the Grand Supreme Leader's arm. His voice was filled with a deep regret as he remarked, "Grand Supreme Leader... you probably don't know, but... there are bad people among us."
