I Just Wanted to Teach Cultivation, But Goddesses Keep Coming!-Chapter 173 Dual Cultivation? In This Economy?!
Lin Feng’s movement was unhurried.
When his eyes settled on her, Huo Mian felt something strange twist in her chest.
His gaze was calm, steady, and far too perceptive for her liking. It was not lustful, nor was it mocking.
It was assessing.
Piercing hot.
As his eyes traveled from her face down along her posture, Huo Mian felt an inexplicable heat rise up her neck.
For one brief instant he seemed to see directly through her carefully guarded composure, beyond her elegant teacher’s robes, beyond the confident facade, as though she were utterly naked in front of him.
"What are you doing?" she snapped, more flustered than she cared to admit. "Where are you looking?"
Instinctively, she crossed her arms over her chest in an attempt to shield herself.
The motion only emphasized her silhouette, pressing her posture tighter and making her bountiful twin treasures appear even more pronounced.
Realizing this too late, she stiffened, her breathing betraying her calm exterior by becoming slightly uneven.
Lin Feng’s expression did not change.
He did not step closer. He did not smirk.
He simply looked at her as if contemplating a difficult equation.
The silence stretched.
Huo Mian felt her heartbeat pound louder with every passing second.
Huo Mian thought she had finally succeeded in cornering Lin Feng into her scheme, but his next words stunned her yet again.
"Please have some self respect, Mentor Huo Mian," Lin Feng said calmly.
"If your students could hear you right now, they would be shocked that you would make such an indecent proposal to a fellow teacher."
His eyes were steady, and the disappointment in them was unmistakable.
It was not anger that reflected there, but something far colder, a quiet disapproval that made her chest tighten.
Huo Mian froze.
She had expected many reactions from him like hesitation, temptation, perhaps even agreement disguised as indifference.
But not this. Not reprimand. Not that look of restrained disdain.
Inside, Lin Feng sighed.
Women these days are truly unpredictable and bold beyond compare, he mused inwardly. Back in my life on Earth, when I once stood at my lowest, practically on my knees, holding chocolates and flowers, hoping for even a trace of affection, there was nothing. Now, my confidence alone seems to attract endless complications.
He shook his head slightly.
The irony was almost amusing.
Before him, Huo Mian felt her composure crack in a way she had never experienced before.
She had approached this confrontation believing she held the upper hand, believing she could manipulate the situation through pride or provocation.
Yet somehow, she was the one being lectured.
And that realization stung more than anything he had said.
Huo Mian saw that he was about to leave her behind as though she were insignificant.
And something inside her refused to accept that outcome.
"Stop!" she called out sharply, her voice echoing against the quiet walls.
He paused.
For a fraction of a second, she hesitated. Pride warred with desperation.
Dignity battled against her need to win.
But in the end, her competitive nature prevailed.
"Mentor Lin Feng... if you win," she said, forcing each word out steadily, "I will be your bed slave. You can do anything you want to me for the rest of my life, until the day I draw my final breath!"
The air in the room seemed to freeze.
Even she felt the weight of what she had just said.
This was no longer a simple wager about reputation.
She had escalated it into something deeply personal, deeply provocative.
It was a calculated move, one she believed no man would resist.
In her eyes, men were simple creatures.
She had witnessed the way they looked at her for years... hungry, covetous, pretending to be respectful while their thoughts betrayed them.
If they could, they would have undressed her with their gaze alone.
And it would not have stopped there.
Huo Mian had long ago formed a rather cynical view of them.
Disgusting pigs, she often thought. Weak to beauty. Predictable to temptation.
So this was her ultimate trap.
If Lin Feng accepted eagerly, she would know he was no different from the rest.
If he refused, she would accuse him of cowardice.
Either way, she believed she controlled the board.
Lin Feng did not immediately turn around.
For a brief moment, it appeared he would dismiss her once more without even acknowledging the offer.
But then he stopped completely.
Slowly, he faced her again.
There was no lust in his eyes.
No excitement.
No embarrassment.
Only contemplation.
That unsettled her far more than if he had stared openly.
Instead of replying, Lin Feng just looked at her more.
An invisible ripple spread from him, subtle and undetectable to ordinary senses.
He extended his divine sense outward, quietly enveloping Huo Mian’s presence.
What he perceived caused his calm expression to flicker for the first time.
"Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me!" Lin Feng shouted inwardly, his usually steady mind rippling with rare disbelief.
Outwardly, however, he did not move. His breathing remained even. His posture unchanged.
He blinked once.
Instantly, Huo Mian’s character status unfolded before his eyes, lines of translucent text forming clearly within his vision.
The information scrolled past in meticulous detail... cultivation level, temperament analysis, karmic alignment, hidden traits, latent potential, even her private desires and the number of sexual partners.
He was not surprised to see it was zero.
Huo Mian would never have earned the title of Ice Goddess if she were the type to simply spread her legs for any man.
Her pride, her discipline, and the barriers she maintained around herself made that perfectly clear.
The more he read, the more stunned he became.
"Why do I keep meeting these troublesome women one after another?" Lin Feng muttered inwardly, feeling a dull throb form at his temples.
Disbelief flickered through him as he resisted the urge to sigh aloud. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
The translucent panels of data still hovered before his eyes, dense and overflowing with detailed metrics.
With a single thought, he willed the overwhelming stream of information to reorganize into the simpler format he was accustomed to using.
After a steady breath, the chaos of data had transformed into something manageable.
His mind, however, was far from calm.
