I Just Wanted to Teach Cultivation, But Goddesses Keep Coming!-Chapter 178 Sacrificing My Virgin Qi for the Greater Good
Lin Feng and Li Zhiyan arrived at the Su Clan and made their way toward the familiar residence where Su Muyao and her daughter had once lived.
The path was the same as before, the stone walkway lined with trimmed hedges and quiet courtyards, yet the atmosphere felt subtly different.
When they reached the house, however, it was empty. There were no signs of life inside.
Instead, a graceful maidservant stood waiting near the entrance, her hands folded neatly before her as if she had been anticipating their arrival.
The moment she saw Lin Feng and Li Zhiyan approach, she lowered her head respectfully.
"Good afternoon, Young Master Lin Feng. Young Miss Li Zhiyan," she said in a soft, steady voice.
"If you are looking for Lady Su, she has already moved to a larger mansion deeper within the clan grounds. Please allow me to guide you."
"I see. Please lead the way. And thank you," Lin Feng replied politely.
Li Zhiyan remained at his side, poised and elegant, her expression calm yet attentive.
Together, they followed the maidservant along a different path than usual.
As they walked, the surroundings gradually shifted.
The modest homes and smaller courtyards of the outer district gave way to increasingly refined architecture.
The houses grew taller, the gates more ornate.
Decorative lanterns hung from carved beams, and delicate stone sculptures adorned the gardens.
The deeper they went, the more evident the hierarchy of the Su Clan became.
This was the inner district, where only those of higher standing resided.
Servants moved about quietly, maintaining the grounds with disciplined efficiency.
Guards stood at intervals, their eyes sharp yet respectful as Lin Feng passed.
Soon, towering mansions came into view, each one more imposing than the last.
Finally, they stopped before a particularly grand estate.
Its entrance gate was crafted from dark polished wood reinforced with metal fittings, engraved with intricate patterns that spoke of status and wealth.
Beyond the gate, glimpses of spacious courtyards and elegant pavilions could be seen.
As Lin Feng approached, people in the surrounding area paused. Conversations quieted. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Several clan members instinctively stepped aside, creating space for him and Li Zhiyan to pass.
Their gazes carried a mixture of respect, curiosity, and cautious admiration.
No one dared approach too closely.
Yet whispers still arose among those watching from a distance.
"Young Master Lin Feng is in our clan again. He must be looking for Lady Su Muyao."
"Is it true then? Are the rumors about them real? I heard they’re already extremely close... that they’ve even cooked rice together many times?"
"It’s probably true. They say he visits her frequently. With Lady Su moving into the inner district like this, doesn’t that prove something?"
"Even I would gladly lose myself between Lady Su’s magnificent mountain peaks! I’d bury my face in them all day!"
"Keep your voice down! Do you want the clan elders to hear you and pull your tongues from inside your gossipy mouths?"
The murmurs traveled like ripples through still water.
Some voices carried envy, others disbelief, and a few held admiration.
Lin Feng and company soon arrived before Su Muyao’s new mansion, and even from the outside it was clear that her status within the Su Clan had risen considerably.
Two attendants stood nearby, lowering their heads respectfully the moment they recognized Lin Feng.
As the gates opened, a spacious courtyard revealed itself.
Carefully arranged flower beds bloomed in vibrant colors, their fragrance drifting gently through the air.
A small ornamental pond sat at the center, koi fish gliding lazily beneath the surface while smooth stones lined the water’s edge.
The entire estate radiated refinement and comfort.
Before Lin Feng could properly take in the surroundings, a small golden blur dashed out from the inner hall.
"Mentor Lin Feng!"
Su Wanwan ran toward him at full speed, her tiny shoes pattering rapidly against the stone path.
She stopped just one step before Lin Feng, then began speaking in an unusually excited tone, her eyes bright and her expression animated as she launched into her words.
"Wanwan is so happy to see you!" she exclaimed, her bright blue eyes sparkling.
"Wanwan was really worried earlier! That big beautiful teacher looked so scary. But Big Brother Yuan Bao said Mentor Lin Feng can handle anything, so Wanwan stopped worrying!"
Her blonde hair bounced wildly as she tilted her head up to look at him, her smile so wide it nearly reached her ears.
Lin Feng laughed softly.
"Of course, Wanwan. Mentor Huo Mian only wanted help with something minor. It wasn’t important. I’ve already resolved it completely. She won’t be coming back to disturb me or our class again."
"Really? She won’t?" Su Wanwan’s eyes widened even more.
"Really."
"Yay!" she squealed in delight, hopping up and down. "Wanwan loves hearing that, Mentor Lin Feng!"
Without giving him a chance to respond further, she grabbed his hand enthusiastically and began pulling him toward the inner courtyard.
"Come inside quickly! Wanwan’s new home is super, super big! It’s much bigger than before! There are so many rooms that Wanwan got lost early this morning!"
She continued talking rapidly, her excitement overflowing like a bubbling spring.
"Wanwan has so many big, beautiful sisters now! They’re all very nice. They braid Wanwan’s hair in different styles and teach Wanwan how to read poems. One of them even sneaks Wanwan sweet pastries when Mama isn’t looking!"
She leaned closer and whispered conspiratorially, though not quietly enough to truly keep it secret.
"And there’s a giant garden inside with butterflies everywhere! Wanwan tried to catch one, but it flew away. Oh! And there’s a bigger pond than this one with shiny fish that sparkle in the sun!"
Su Wanwan continued tugging Lin Feng forward, determined to show him everything.
"Wanwan’s room is twice as big now! There’s even a little balcony where Wanwan can see the moon at night! Mama’s room is even bigger than that! And there’s a special guest hall too. Mentor Lin Feng can stay over if he wants!"
Her innocent words caused a few nearby maidservants to lower their heads to hide faint smiles.
"Wanwan also has a study room now. Mama says Wanwan must study hard so she can become strong and protect Mama in the future," she declared proudly, puffing out her tiny chest.
Lin Feng looked down at her energetic figure and chuckled. "Then Wanwan must work very hard."
"Wanwan will!" she promised earnestly.
A few minutes later, Lin Feng was seated across from Su Muyao in the main hall of her new mansion.
