I Just Wanted to Teach Cultivation, But Goddesses Keep Coming!-Chapter 22 Meadow
"Oh! That’s right!" Su Wanwan’s eyes lit up even more, if that was possible.
"Wanwan understands, Teacher Lin Feng!" she said brightly, nodding with eager energy as she carefully gathered her drawings.
Within five minutes, the two of them had prepared everything and boarded a carriage that Lin Feng summoned.
As the wheels began to roll and the city slowly passed by outside the window, Su Wanwan clutched her artwork to her chest, her heart still full from the joy of creating. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Together, they set off toward the Su Clan, the warm glow of the late afternoon sun following them as they disappeared down the road.
"Wow! This is Wanwan’s first time riding something like this, Teacher! It feels so good!" Su Wanwan exclaimed, her voice filled with wonder as she gently bounced in her seat, unable to hide her excitement.
Her small hands pressed against the soft cushions, and she peeked out through the window, watching the city glide past in a blur of movement and color.
Usually, she walked to school and back home every single day.
Each trip took her around thirty minutes, sometimes longer when the roads were crowded or the weather was bad.
The city was enormous, and her family was far too poor to afford luxuries like carriages.
Even seeing one pass by in the streets had always felt distant, like something that belonged to another world entirely.
Now that she was sitting inside one, she felt as though she had stepped into a dream.
"Hm..." Lin Feng responded with a simple nod, his expression calm and composed.
He had no intention of pampering her or turning carriage rides into a daily routine.
A flower that only grew in a sheltered garden would never survive the wild winds of the real world.
Only those who endured hardship could truly become strong.
He wanted Su Wanwan to grow into someone resilient, grounded, and capable of standing on her own, not someone dependent on comfort and luxury.
This ride, however, was merely an exception.
They were bringing a large amount of food back for Su Wanwan’s mother, and it would have been unreasonable to carry everything on foot.
Moreover, with two immortal treasures now in Su Wanwan’s possession, there was almost nothing in this world that could truly threaten her anymore.
Still, Lin Feng preferred not to grow careless, for even the strongest cultivator could fall through complacency.
As the carriage rolled forward, its wheels humming softly against the stone road, Su Wanwan continued to stare outside with wide, curious eyes.
Everything seemed brighter, smoother, and more alive from this vantage point.
Her heart felt light, and for once, the journey home felt just as enjoyable as the destination.
Ten minutes into the ride, the carriage finally passed through the towering gates of the Su Clan.
The Su Clan was only an average clan within the city... neither particularly powerful nor especially wealthy but it possessed a long and steady history in Clear Moon City.
Its walls were worn and weathered by time, marked with the quiet scars of countless seasons, yet they remained firm and unyielding.
The buildings inside were modest but orderly, reflecting a clan that valued stability and tradition over extravagance.
To Su Wanwan, however, this place was more than just stone walls and wooden halls.
It was her home, the place where her mother waited for her every day, and the place she returned to after every lesson.
As the carriage slowed and rolled to a stop, her excitement shifted into warmth and anticipation, her heart already imagining her mother’s smile when she saw the food they had brought.
Lin Feng stepped down first from the carriage, his movements calm and unhurried.
Su Wanwan, however, nearly leapt out after him, her small feet barely touching the steps as she hurried down, excitement bubbling in every movement.
"Mama! Wanwan’s home! Wanwan has a surprise for you!" she shouted joyfully, her voice echoing through the courtyard as she dashed toward the house without even looking back.
She burst through the door of their modest home, and Lin Feng followed shortly after at a measured pace. Inside, he saw Su Wanwan wrap both arms tightly around the thighs of a beautiful woman who was standing near the table.
The woman looked just like the picture Wanwan had once shown him... gentle features, soft blonde hair, and kind eyes but she appeared a little thinner, her frame delicate in a way that spoke of hardship and sacrifice.
Even so, her beauty was undeniable, refined not by luxury, but by quiet resilience and warmth.
"You’re home early, Wan’er," Su Wanwan’s mother said softly, surprise and relief flickering across her face as she looked down at her daughter.
"It’s because Teacher brought me home!" Su Wanwan replied proudly, lifting her head with a bright smile.
"Oh? Teacher Wu is here?" her mother asked, lifting her gaze toward the doorway.
It was only then that she noticed Lin Feng already standing just inside, his expression calm and courteous.
He offered her a gentle smile and a respectful nod.
"I’m sorry to intrude," Lin Feng said politely, "but Wanwan has brought something for you."
As he spoke, he stepped toward the nearby table and casually raised his hand.
Thud!
In an instant, a large spread of food appeared on the table, filling every available space with warm dishes, fragrant meats, steamed buns, and neatly packed containers.
At the same time, several heavy sacks of rice and baskets of fresh fruits landed gently on the floor beside it, as though placed there by invisible hands.
The room was immediately filled with rich aromas and the comforting scent of freshly prepared meals.
Su Wanwan’s mother froze, her eyes widening in shock as she stared at the scene before her.
For a long moment, she could not speak.
Her hands trembled slightly, and her breath caught in her throat as she looked from the food to Lin Feng, and then back to the overflowing table, struggling to process what she was seeing.
"Th-This..." she finally whispered, her voice barely above a breath.
