I Pick Up Talents on the Interstellar Battlefield-Chapter 575 - 457: Rakshasa, the Ghost Bullet Returns (Part 2)
"Lord Alaya."
Upon seeing her, the people who had landed earlier all relinquished their previous carelessness, respectfully bowing their heads with clear reverence in their tones.
With Tier Seven power, direct lineage of the Luoho Clan, sister of the Military Lord - any of these identities alone was enough to make these Tier Six Spiritualists bow and obey.
Alaya did not respond, instead slowly raising her hand, her fingertips gliding through the raging wind and snow in the air. Her gaze then fell upon the man wearing a black headscarf as she asked:
"Is the signal jammer activated?"
Her voice held a slightly hoarse magnetism; although her tone was gentle, it exuded a majestic authority that shook one’s heart.
"It is, my lord," the man promptly nodded, "With us as the center, all signals within 300 kilometers will be jammed. Even if Ice Extreme Pass wanted to call for help, they couldn’t send out any message."
"Good!" A flash of cold sharpness flickered in Alaya’s eyes as her gaze locked onto the faint blue barrier of the distant Ice Extreme Pass, and she coldly commanded:
"Proceed, leave no one alive!"
"Yes!"
As her words fell, within the squad, a Tier Six mage draped in a black magic robe immediately raised their hand, muttering incantations under their breath. A thick black fog surged from their palm, rapidly spreading like a living thing, enveloping everyone within.
The black fog emitted no energy fluctuations but could perfectly isolate aura and form; even when wind and snow passed through the mist, it was silent.
In this pitch-black polar night, the black fog resembled a wandering shadow, swiftly approaching Ice Extreme Pass, eliminating the possibility of being detected prematurely.
Everyone hid within the black fog, sprinting towards Ice Extreme Pass, getting closer and closer.
But just when they were twenty kilometers out, Alaya suddenly felt a surge of strong apprehension, an instinctual sense of danger from a Tier Seven powerhouse, so sharp that it made her scalp tingle!
"Watch out! It’s a trap!" Alaya sternly warned, simultaneously channeling her inner Spiritual Energy, forming a layer of black light shield around her, firmly protecting herself.
Yet, her warning was just a moment too late.
"Buzz—"
Within the area shrouded by the black fog, space suddenly trembled violently, the once stable spatial structure shattering like a broken mirror, plunging into chaos in an instant. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Numerous transparent Space Blades materialized out of thin air, crazily slicing through the crowd in the black fog like a torrential rain.
On the ground and in the air, one black spatial fissure after another silently gaped open, emitting a horrifying suction that seemed to want to drag everyone into an endless abyss.
"Ah!"
"My hand!"
Screams erupted instantly within the black fog.
The elite Tier Four and Tier Five members had no time to react.
They neither had Alaya’s acute danger perception nor the formidable defense of a Tier Six powerhouse. As the Space Blades cut through their bodies, even the Spirit Shield was unable to offer protection, and they were instantly carved into pieces, blood spraying across the snow, quickly blown away by the gale, leaving nothing but glaring patches of red.
In just the span of a single breath, three hundred elite members perished by eighty percent, leaving only a little over thirty clinging to life under the Spirit Shield of Tier Six powerhouses, their faces pale and bodies trembling, their previous arrogance completely vanished.
"Is this... a space trap?!"
The Tier Six mage who cast the black fog looked at the ravaging Space Blades around them, face turning drastically pale.
He couldn’t fathom how Ice Extreme Pass could set such a terrifying space trap and even precisely predict their approach route!
Alaya’s expression shifted instantly to one of iron as her previous disdain was replaced by shock and anger.
"Peng!"
Suddenly, a dull explosion resonated abruptly in the team.
A Tier Six Spiritualist of the Silver Bloodline, who was on full alert against the space chaos, had their head unexpectedly burst open without any forewarning, with blood and brain matter splattering onto the snow, instantly freezing into dark red ice crystals.
"Stay alert!"
The remaining Tier Six Spiritualists’ pupils contracted sharply, instinctively channeling Spiritual Energy to coalesce thick Spirit Shields around themselves.
These were seasoned warriors with reaction speeds far exceeding ordinary people, but in the next instant—
"Peng! Peng! Peng!"
Three consecutive detonations followed in quick succession.
The Spirit Shields were penetrated as if made of paper, and three Tier Six Spiritualists had their heads blown open one after another, their bodies crashing onto the snow.
Casing after gleaming casing fell from the air into the snow, the clinking sound piercingly loud on the deathly silent ice field.
"Bullets? How could they be bullets!"
The surviving Tier Six Spiritualists looked at the casings on the ground, their eyes filled with shock and fear.
Firearms?
Weren’t they just "toys" effective only against Spiritualists below Tier Four?
Even the most formidable Rune Sniper Rifle could at most pierce a Tier Five Spiritualist’s shield, how could it easily penetrate the defenses of a Tier Six powerhouse, and even achieve precise headshots?
"Who!"
Alaya shouted fiercely, her black Spiritual Energy surging madly, the senses of a Tier Seven powerhouse spreading like a tide, encompassing every inch of the hundreds of kilometers around.
She could clearly sense the flow of the wind and snow, the snow beasts hibernating beneath the frozen ground, she even could capture the sound of snowflakes landing several kilometers away, yet still failed to find the hidden sniper — the opponent seemed like a ghost merging into the darkness, leaving no trace, only the cold bullets continuing to harvest the lives of her comrades.
"Peng!"
Another Tier Six Spiritualist fell.
This time, he had even preemptively reinforced his head shield with Spiritual Energy, wrapping it with Qi and Blood, but still couldn’t stop the bullet.
That bullet seemed able to anticipate his defense, accurately finding the weakest seam in his shield, delivering a fatal strike.
