I Play the Horror World as a Simulation Game-Chapter 215: Talking to my mother, back to the ghost school!
When Qin Nuo returned home, it was already close to eight o'clock.
He pushed open the door and saw that, unusually, a light bulb was on in the living room, though the light was very dim.
His mother was sitting on the sofa, still looking drunk, holding a bottle of white liquor she had taken from Ah Le's house.
Qin Nuo didn't know if the liquor was strong or not, but he saw his mother gulping it down, one mouthful after another.
He had indeed brought the food back, tossed it on the table without saying anything, and went into his room to find some clothes to take a shower.
From Qin Feng's scattered accounts, Qin Nuo could tell that he had the same indifferent attitude towards their mother, only with less hatred compared to their father.
After showering, the sticky feeling was gone, and he felt much more refreshed.
In the living room, the bottle had rolled onto the floor, and some of the food on the table had been eaten. His mother was leaning back on the sofa, head tilted as if she were asleep.
Qin Nuo tidied up the mess on the table, threw it into the trash, and was about to return to his room when his mother suddenly asked, "Has your father been back?"
"I haven't seen him," Qin Nuo replied.
"He's been acting crazy again lately. Be careful."
"If he lays a hand on you, use anything to smash his head in. Best if you kill him," his mother's red lips seemed to curl into a slight smile.
"I'm not who I used to be. If he dares to touch me, I'll resist with everything I have, even kill him." freeweɓnovel-cøm
"Such scum, I wouldn't feel anything if he died. What about you?" Qin Nuo asked back.
"I'd be very happy," his mother smiled, and it was clear that the smile came from the heart.
Qin Nuo thought to himself that in the Horror World, he had never seen any loving couples, only relationships more hostile than enemies.
Despite his thoughts, his face remained the same indifferent mask. "If there's nothing else, I'll go to my room to sleep. I'm tired."
Just as he turned, his mother called him back.
She pulled out a crumpled lady's cigarette from somewhere, lit it, crossed her legs elegantly, and exhaled a puff of smoke, placing a few Ghost Currencies on the table.
"These should be enough for you to eat for a few days. Hide the money well, don't let that scum see it."
Qin Nuo looked at the Ghost Currencies on the table, hesitating, unsure if Qin Feng's personality would take them.
"Don't worry, the money's not dirty. It's very clean," his mother said casually, holding the cigarette.
Qin Nuo picked up the Ghost Currencies from the table, went into his room, and closed the door.
His mother glanced at the moonlight outside the window, her slightly dazed eyes flickering gently.
"Congratulations, Player, on completing the role-play. Your dialogue, demeanor, and emotional control matched the original character perfectly! You have gained a 9% role-play score!"
In the room, Qin Nuo ran his hand through his damp hair. Just as he sat down, he heard the game's notification sound.
"This character's family environment, though the most tragic, lacks a headache-inducing mystery compared to Li Xiaoming and Liang Zisu."
With no hidden mysteries and clear family relationships, it saved Qin Nuo a lot of effort and allowed him to focus on the main storyline.
Qin Nuo habitually checked the time; it was already past nine. He wasn't sure when his mother in the living room would leave, but after midnight, he had to act and return to Black Crow Ghost School.
Time ticked away.
Qin Nuo leaned back in his chair, making no noise, creating the illusion that he was already asleep, hoping his mother would leave.
The Horror World had taught Qin Nuo many things, one of which was patience.
He was like a cat guarding a mouse hole, sitting there motionless for hours.
Checking the time again, Qin Nuo suddenly got up, grabbed a cup, and opened the door.
In the living room, pretending to get a drink of water, his mother was nowhere to be seen, and the empty liquor bottle was still in the corner.
"Looks like she's gone."
Qin Nuo muttered, pouring himself a glass of water to soothe his throat.
Jingle...
The wind chime at his waist suddenly rang twice with a pleasant sound, moving without wind.
A milky white light emerged from it.
The light transformed into Mo Ting in front of Qin Nuo. She looked around curiously and said, "Is this brother's home?"
"It's a home, but it doesn't feel like one," Qin Nuo said, tossing the disposable cup into the trash.
"But at least you have a home. I've forgotten what my family even looks like, let alone..." Mo Ting lowered her head, her pretty face filled with sorrow.
Before she could finish, Qin Nuo interrupted her, "Alright, I don't have time to compete over who's more miserable. Let's get going."
Qin Nuo grabbed a flashlight from the cabinet, motioned for Mo Ting to follow him, and then headed out with the flashlight on.
Mo Ting, being a soul, had no physical body and floated behind Qin Nuo the entire way.
Younan Town had no streetlights, and at night, aside from a few dim lights from houses, it was pitch black.
Perhaps because Mo Ting was with him tonight, the road to Black Crow Ghost School didn't feel as terrifying as the night before.
The beam of the flashlight illuminated the road ahead, and Qin Nuo quickened his pace, with Mo Ting following behind, not looking around.
She seemed to be able to see something and said to Qin Nuo, "They've been following you. Don't you want to say hello?"
"Don't look around, don't talk, just follow me quietly."
Originally, Qin Nuo didn't feel anything, but Mo Ting's words rekindled a sense of fear in him. He didn't know what she meant by "they," but it certainly wasn't anything good.
Ignoring the surroundings, focusing only on the road ahead.
Qin Nuo quickened his pace again, and Mo Ting obediently followed behind with an "oh."
Soon, the familiar red glow of lanterns appeared not far away. Qin Nuo emerged from the darkness and arrived at the school gate.
Mo Ting stopped above Qin Nuo, looking at the vast Black Crow Ghost School, her little head tilted slightly as if it felt familiar.
In the security room, Xiao Liu came out, putting away his rubber baton. After a night of being enveloped in fear, seeing Qin Nuo was like seeing a family member.
"Master, you're here again tonight?"
"Couldn't sleep, came to school to seek some thrill," Qin Nuo said casually.
Xiao Liu's head was filled with black lines. He came over with a thermos cup, but before he could speak, he saw Mo Ting floating behind Qin Nuo.
His expression was one of astonishment, and the words he was about to say got stuck in his throat.
He wasn't scared, having seen too many terrifying things as a seasoned player. But in front of game NPCs, players dared not reveal their true identities.
Seeing Mo Ting, his face changed, and he fell silent, becoming an Honest Person.
Mo Ting blinked her big eyes, curiously studying Xiao Liu.
Qin Nuo explained, "Don't worry, she can't remember anything, it doesn't affect anything."
Xiao Liu leaned in a bit and whispered, "Where did you pick up this little Lolita?"
Qin Nuo grinned, "An important character in the main storyline. Are you sure you want to know?"
Hearing "main storyline," Xiao Liu reacted as if he had touched a minefield, quickly waving his hands, "No, no, just pretend I didn't ask anything."
"Don't mind it. I'm struggling on the main storyline by myself and could use a partner. You seem suitable, interested?"
Xiao Liu quickly begged for mercy, "Brother, spare me. I haven't even figured out my role-play, and I don't want to get involved in the main storyline mess!"
For some of the more challenging instances, players didn't dare touch the main storyline. Although the rewards and ratings were tempting, it often wasn't worth the risk.
The danger was high, and death could come at any moment!
Most players were satisfied with the instance rewards and ratings.
Qin Nuo was just joking; having him join would mostly be a hindrance.
Xiao Liu handed the thermos cup to Qin Nuo, "It's hot tea, to keep you awake. Hope it helps."
Qin Nuo accepted it without hesitation, hanging it at his waist.
Xiao Liu hesitated, cautiously asking, "How's the main storyline progressing now?"
Qin Nuo was about to answer when Xiao Liu waved his hand again, "Never mind, just pretend I didn't ask."
Qin Nuo glanced at the security room and asked, "Where's the Old Man?"
"He's often missing, I'm used to it," Xiao Liu shrugged.
"Alright, then I'll head in."
Qin Nuo signaled to Mo Ting behind him and then walked into the school.
One person and one soul gradually disappeared into the school's darkness...
Xiao Liu watched them disappear, shivering slightly, uneasily glancing around the pitch-black surroundings before returning to the brightly lit, safe security room.
