I practice martial arts by adding skill points in modern city-Chapter 55: [052] Traveling with the second generation of the rich
Chapter 55: [052] Traveling with the second generation of the rich
Early in the morning.
"Wang Longhu! Wang Longhu, are you home?"
Outside the courtyard, Zheng Dongliang and a group of friends shouted toward the house, but after a long time, there was still no response.
Li Yao couldn’t help but ask, "Is he not home?"
"Impossible, you see the door isn’t locked. How could someone go out without locking the door?" Zheng Dongliang looked puzzled.
At this moment, a dripping wet Wang Longhu emerged from the backyard, and upon seeing this group of wealthy second-generation standing outside the door, he was a bit startled.
"Is there something you need?"
"We’ve been calling you for a while, but you didn’t answer. This is our first time in Dong County, and we plan to have a good time at the local attractions. We thought of finding a local to guide us. Why not come and hang out with us?" Zheng Dongliang smiled.
Wang Longhu waved his hand quickly, "No, I have things to do. You guys go ahead. The attractions in Dong County aren’t complicated; even outsiders can figure them out."
Wasting time with this group of wealthy kids wasn’t something Wang Longhu wanted. Nowadays, he found a more suitable environment for martial arts training, and he was deeply fascinated by the feeling of holding his breath underwater while practicing the three-body pose.
When you’re interested in something, hardship is no longer hardship but a form of enjoyment. Wang Longhu was currently enjoying the beauty of it.
"Are you live streaming? I’ll just tip you, fulfill your daily KPI, and you come hang out with us. Then we can have lunch together." Zheng Dongliang was somewhat unwilling to give up and persistently asked.
Wang Longhu, having worked in society for a few years, quickly understood what Zheng Dongliang meant.
Probably after the incident at Banping Mountain Residence, this rich kid was not very confident about his safety, even though the police caught those four strong men.
But who could guarantee that there were no others secretly planning to kidnap Zheng Dongliang? After witnessing Wang Longhu’s skills, he wanted to invite him along for peace of mind so that there would be someone to rely on if trouble arose.
"Twenty thousand." Wang Longhu held up two fingers. Although he only said two words, the meaning was very clear.
"Okay, let’s go then." Zheng Dongliang agreed without a second thought.
For these rich kids who could afford to drive an RS6, twenty thousand was just pocket change. Normally, they might spend more than that gifting a bag or clubbing for a girl they were interested in.
Hiring someone like Wang Longhu, a Ming Jin expert, for twenty thousand could be considered a very cost-effective deal.
"I’ll take a shower and change clothes, wait for me a bit." Wang Longhu nodded and went back into the house.
When he reappeared, he was already clad in a full set of 90-pound weighted gear, making the expressions of those around grow tense.
Zheng Dongliang found it hard to believe, "You’re going to wear that and hang out with us?"
"Just treating it like exercise." Wang Longhu lightly waved his arm, looking calm and composed.
His stance really won the admiration of everyone present. They all knew how heavy Wang Longhu’s gear was.
Not to mention carrying it around, even lifting it for one minute made them feel like their arms would break off. Wang Longhu was truly a tough guy.
Sitting once again in Zheng Dongliang’s RS6, the group enthusiastically drove down the mountain road and, under Wang Longhu’s guidance, took the ring island highway to the nearest scenic spot—Xiandieyan.
Xiandieyan is a well-known attraction in Dong County, located on the seaside cliffs. In recent years, it has been renovated with funds from the local government and has now become a must-visit spot in Dong County.
As for Wang Longhu, a local, he had only been there once on a school-organized spring outing in elementary school.
It was his first visit to Xiandieyan as an adult today, so he was a bit curious.
After paying for the tickets, Wang Longhu led Zheng Dongliang and the group into the scenic area. He had to admit, seeing these wealthy second-generation leisurely touring the scenic spots was unexpected for him.
He was naturally a lazy person and disliked traveling the most in his life, especially seeing the mass of heads.
"The scenery on your island is really nice." Li Yao, wearing a sun hat, a pair of GUCCI sunglasses that covered half her face, and a sun-proof jacket, was well-prepared for the sun.
If it weren’t for coming with her, Wang Longhu might not have recognized her on the road.
"Of course, Dong County, without economy or population, its only advantage remaining is the scenery." Wang Longhu replied calmly, hands in pockets, leading the way.
"It’s a nice place to retire. Wang Longhu, what’s that temple for? There are so many people." Zheng Dongliang pointed to a temple in the direction to the right of the scenic area entrance and asked.
Xiandieyan is located on a cliff with only a seacliff plank road to proceed, and the temple stood at the edge of the entrance by the sea, a risky architecture.
"It seems to be some Guanyin Temple, it’s been there for years and was renovated." Wang Longhu explained rather mechanically.
Compared to his plain mood, Zheng Dongliang’s group seemed like kids released from confinement after years, overjoyed. Upon hearing it was a Guanyin Temple, these people from Min Province all burst into the Min dialect, ran over there excitedly, all wanting to offer incense and seek blessings from Bodhisattva Guanyin.
Watching them, Wang Longhu could only sigh in his heart. Man overcomes nature; if real trouble arises, one still has to rely on oneself. Worshiping Buddhas or Bodhisattvas was just for psychological comfort.
He realized this a long time ago after receiving the hospital’s diagnosis, but since this group of rich kids wanted to take a look, naturally, he couldn’t stop them, so he followed slowly at the end.
Surrounded by rocks, the entrance to the Guanyin Temple was narrow, stepping on stone steps led to a flat stone platform, with a turtle-shaped boulder on the left of the platform, bearing a larger stone on its back.
Opposite the turtle boulder stood the small Guanyin Temple, with a massive toad-shaped rock beside it.
These two boulders have historical tales, it is said that after Bodhisattva Guanyin attained enlightenment, following Buddha’s guidance, she traveled north from the South Sea to Dong County to select a pure land for teaching the Dharma.
Initially, on the cliff, a giant turtle listened intently, fascinated by it, unaware of the passage of time, eventually turning into a stone.
The toad-shaped boulder also had a special tale.
Countless years ago, a toad-spirit wished to become immortal, and when Bodhisattva Guanyin came, it begged her to take it to heaven for immortality.
However, Bodhisattva had to leave Dong County; seeing the toad asleep, she told it to follow later but the toad, being lazy, continued sleeping, asking Bodhisattva to proceed without it.
After Bodhisattva left, by the time the toad awoke, she was gone. Regretting deeply, the toad-spirit has since waited there for Bodhisattva’s return, a wait that continues endlessly.
