Chapter 147. Epilogue

(3rd person pov)

It was a clear morning.

Duke Wade had been quite busy since morning.

“Honey, are you near? Let’s go a little earlier. If it’s urgent, do it later.”

Leslie, dressed in flashy clothes, stood in front of the drawing room, and finally opened the door.

“It’s not just another event, it’s a wedding…”

Braden, who was having a conversation with a servant from the Imperial Family, got up at Leslie’s words.

“Fine. We were done anyway.”

The conversation that Braden was having with the Imperial attendant was in fact a disposition towards the people of the Marquis of Abedes.

After looking into the bookmark, a magical item that Ian commissioned, the result was that ‘the blood of the person who really hated their opponent’ was needed.

And as a result of tracing the purchase route, the Marquis of Abedes came out.

The evidence was too convincing that he was trying to harm Annabelle.

The assassins carried away by the Imperial Knightsalso confided the truth when there was solid evidence.

“Because of the Abedes… When the wall collapsed at the inn, the Crown Prince was also there, so we had to discuss it with the Imperial Family because it was also an attempted murder of an Imperial Family member.”

So Braden had asked that the punishment of the Abedes be handed over to Wades.

And finally the answer came from the Imperial Family.

They replied that they would only grant permission if the punishment was greater than the sentence of life imprisonment in the Imperial prison.

Well, in that, Braden was confident.

Because the punishment that happened under the Wades was more than that of the Imperial Family, and not any less.

“They were trying to hurt my daughter-in-law, so I have to take matters into my own hands.”

Braden smiled and greeted the Imperial servant. The attendant was about to show his courtesy and leave, but he could not bear it and said a word.

“But that… Is that the friendly match medal?”

At the entrance to the drawing room where the original giant magic stone was located, there was a decoration with a small sparkling magic stone in it.

Naturally, the servant, who thought that there would be ‘Dragon’s Tears’, the great treasure of the Empire, bestowed upon Ian by the Emperor, was in a bit of a panic.

“It’s a little different from the medals of the swordsmanship competition… It’s the first time I’ve seen it up close.”

“Of course. This is an unprecedented medal.”

Braden said, unable to hide his pride.

“It’s a medal that my daughter-in-law gave to my son.”

“…”

“It’s enough to be an heirloom to keep from generation to generation.”

The servant awkwardly agreed and left quickly.

It had been a little over a month since the friendly match that made the Empire buzz.

In the meantime, there had been several changes to the Wade duchy.

Among them, it was the very trivial matter that the medal for winning the friendly match was placed in the drawing room.

And the fact that the Duke of Wade was preparing extensively for the succession of the title was a bit of a big deal.

As he had long since promised, he had embarked on a plan to hand down the title of Duke of Wade after Ian’s last swordsmanship contest and to travel around the world with Leslie.

Thanks to this, Ian, who lived in the training ground and managed the knights, was confined to his office for quite some time.

And the biggest change was…

“Annabelle will be coming from the Rainfield Manor today, right? Wouldn’t she stop here?”

“Hey, stop talking. She already told me early this morning that she came out to the training ground and trained with the knights.”

It was Annabelle who became the Commander of the Wade Knights.

Since Ian inherited the dukedom anyway, they needed someone to lead the knights instead of Ian himself.

Originally, the lieutenant Aaron should have been promoted to the rank of commander, but Aaron flatly refused, saying, “I hate such a burdensome position.”

In the meantime, there was a much better commander for the Knights, both in terms of skill and enthusiasm. It was Annabelle.

They didn’t even hang out together, but for eight years, she had met the Wade Knights on a daily basis, so she already knew the geography of the place and the way they trained.

Read only at pm tl.

“It has been my dream from the beginning. If I had not dedicated my childhood to Ian Wade because of Caitlyn and Reid, I would have joined to be part of a noble’s knights.”

“Oh, then you may have joined the Wade Knights.”

“Perhaps? Anyway, it’s been a while since I’ve been back, but I really like managing the Wade Knights. It’s just what I wanted to do. I don’t even have to use my head.”

Annabelle gave the Knights quite a big inspiration in a different way than Ian.

Even after winning, she didn’t reduce the amount of training she had to do.

Seeing her, who was a hard worker, made the knights even admire her unwavering tenacity.

The people of the Wade Knights immediately obeyed Annabelle, who rushed to Ian for so many years and eventually defeated him.

They were already quite familiar with it.

“Then, has she returned to the Rainfield Mansion now? Won’t she come with us?”

Leslie rolled her eyes at Braden’s words.

“She’s going to her brother’s wedding, of course, she should be with her family.”

“Then Ian?”

“Ah, I sent him to Annabelle earlier. I told him to straighten her skirt if it was wrinkled.”

Today was the wedding of Aaron and Cessianne.

Apparently, Annabelle had recently found her family, so if she was going to get married, Oscar insisted that it should start with Aaron, whom he had embraced and raised in his arms for a long time, to go first.

In addition, Aaron’s strong will to be a family member with Cessianne, an orphan turned Saintess, was reflected.

“Okay then, let’s get going. This is not the wedding of our future in-laws.”

Leslie and Braden smiled brightly, folded their arms and left the mansion.

(Annabelle’s pov)

Aaron and Cessianne’s wedding took place in the temple.

The new High Priest, who had previously been nominated but was pushed back by Bellinock for unknown reasons, decided to directly host the wedding.

“Wow, Saintess.”

I exclaimed as I saw Cessianne in her elegant white dress in the waiting room.

“You are really beautiful.”

“Your mother made a really pretty dress for me… I never thought I would wear such a nice outfit in my life, and I love it.”

Cessianne shyly grabbed the bouquet.

“As you know, I don’t have a family, so I wanted to get married early. We’ve only just started dating, but thank you so much for allowing us to get married like this.”

“What? My family will live with the feeling of paying the Saintess a lifelong debt.”

Cessianne, who even did my paternity and treated Aaron when he was in a very difficult situation, was more than enough for us.

Cessianne smiled brightly, then looked up at my face as if in thought, and said.

“Oh, and I received an oracle in my dream last night.”

“An oracle?”

“Yes. Maybe God wants to talk to Annabelle one more time. Do you have some time now?”

It seemed like she was going to deliver the oracle directly, just like the paternity test.

When I showed a look on my face that she was overdoing it on the day of her wedding, Cessianne said with a bright smile.

“My divine power is astonishing from other people’s point of view, Annabelle. Do not worry too much.”

In the end, I succumbed to Cessianne’s words, grabbed her hand and closed my eyes.

And just like then, I felt my body float up. God responded.

As if I had experienced it once, the majestic voice of God began to resound.

[Annabelle, thank you for saving my world.]

‘Well. It made me stronger and better.’

[If the child had not been changed from the beginning, you couldn’t have had enough.]

There was a sense of pride in God’s voice.

[Did you like my present?]

If it was a gift, it would be my new life finding my true family. I smiled softly and nodded eagerly.

‘Yes. Absolutely.’

[Then, now you and I have finished calculating profit and loss.]

God spoke cheerfully, and that was probably what it wanted to say to me through Cecianne.

[Now, go back to being an ordinary human and lead an ordinary life. I will also return as a bystander in your life.]

It meant that God would no longer be involved in my life, just as it had neglected my misfortunes when I was just born.

And I liked that feeling of freedom. It felt like I was pioneering my own life.

The connection was cut off before I even said thank you.

“Oh my gosh, this time it was cut off really quickly.”

As I opened my eyes and saw the face of Cessianne met with a lot of recollection, God seemed to have left too quickly.

“Yes, it was nothing to talk about. You went through a lot of trouble, so quickly catch your breath. Or else your dress will be ruined.”

In this world, where I no longer had to deal with God, my past life, and black magic, I smiled brightly as I arranged Cessianne’s dress.

Because it was a wedding at the temple, some tedious procedures followed for ordinary people.

In the meantime, there was a person whose posture was not disturbed at all, and that was Ian.

“It must be a very meaningful moment for both of them. Even if I’m tired of it, I should celebrate it with a reverent attitude.”

I was yawning even though it was my brother’s wedding, and I shook my head inwardly at Ian’s words.

No matter how much he was my lover, the blood of a model student seemed unavoidable for him.

“Come on, your hair is sticking out, so let’s try it on the side of the head. And your clothes are wrinkled. Hold your back for a moment. Aren’t you thirsty?”

Of course, I used to work hard as usual though.

Among the tedious procedures, there were quite a few people who came to me secretly.

“Annabelle Rainfield? May I ask for your autograph?”

Now, the frequency of aspiring swordsmen asking me for autographs had increased more than that of Ian.

In the meantime, I was very proud of myself.

They glanced at Ian next to me and said, ‘Oh… That’s good…’ and walked away.

Anyway, the tedious wedding had come to an end, and now there was only one final step left.

To throw the bouquet.

As I stared blankly at Aaron and Cessianne, who seemed so happy, I whispered to Ian.

“Ian.”

“Yes?”

“Let’s curse after a long time.”

“What?”

“You must marry the woman who swore at you.”

Ian looked surprised for a moment and then smiled. Then he bit my earlobe and asked.

“Can I kiss you here? I want to kiss you.”

I didn’t have time to answer that.

Because Cessianne had thrown a bouquet that was completely out of direction and it flew into Ian’s arms.

Looking at Ian who took the flower with a bewildered expression, I chuckled and smiled, then kissed him and whispered first.

“It seems that this curse must come true.”

Like the future unfolding before us, the kiss between the bouquet was happy and sweet.
