I Reborn as a God Within a Statue, And You Ask Me to Enslave All Gods?-Chapter 41 --The Spread of Fear
Chapter 41: Chapter41-The Spread of Fear
To Jackson, everything that had happened in Annasi felt like a dream!
The sudden miracles, the overwhelming power Deus Initium had displayed—such absolute strength could only belong to a true god!
Only a god could possess such terrifying power!
And having personally felt the divine pressure exuded by Deus Initium, he was certain that this was no mere spellbeast—it was a real deity.
His faith in Deus Initium was growing rapidly.
However, to Fox, Jackson's almost bewitched behavior was utterly unbelievable.
"Jackson, I told you not to go to that village. And now look at you—your mind is completely messed up."
"You know as well as I do that there are no such things as gods. It's always spellbeasts or schemers pretending to be one."
"If you don't believe me, just wait. Annasi will soon have rumors of human sacrifices."
Fox clearly didn't believe a word of it. In his eyes, Jackson needed to be set straight—otherwise, he'd be the first to get eaten by a spellbeast.

Years ago, those who worshipped the Earthborn Colossus as a stone god, hoping to become its chosen people, were the first ones it devoured.
Now, things had only gotten worse—it wanted to eat awakeners and devour Black Iron entirely!
"Fox, I'm telling the truth! I saw it with my own eyes—Deus Initium is a real god, and he treats the villagers incredibly well!"
Seeing that Fox remained skeptical, Jackson's face flushed with urgency.
Then, as if recalling something crucial, he spoke with firm conviction:
"Fox, if you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do. But soon, you'll see I'm not lying—because Deus Initium has already slain the two tier-4 spellbeasts in the Fallen Lands with a single strike!"
Hearing this, Fox's pupils suddenly contracted.
Tier-4 spellbeasts?
The Fallen Lands?
Creatures of such power were undisputed overlords even within Black Iron.
And now, they had been wiped out?
"Deus Initium?" Fox swallowed hard, setting down his half-eaten drumstick as he stared at Jackson in disbelief.
He knew Jackson wouldn't lie about something like this—after all, the movements of tier-4 spellbeasts were closely monitored.
A simple investigation would confirm the truth.
For Jackson to speak with such certainty meant that it had to be real.
And as far as Fox knew, the Fallen Lands had exactly two tier-4 awakened spellbeasts.
One was the Claw Tyrant, a hulking beast with terrifying combat strength. In the past, it had shattered Black Iron's thick steel walls with a single swipe, making it as great a threat as the Earthborn Colossus itself.
Yet now, it had been slain!
A super spellbeast, killed just like that!
Seeing Fox's shock, Jackson turned toward Annasi with a devout gaze, as if staring through the void at the statue of Deus Initium.
"Before I left Black Iron, a missionary personally sought me out and asked me to spread this news."
Fox's pupils shrank further, a look of confusion flashing across his face. Just as he was about to speak, Jackson continued, his voice filled with reverence:
"Thomas has already led many awakeners from the villages to Stone Mountain. They plan to lure out the Earthborn Colossus—and kill it!"
"Thomas is carrying out Deus Initium's Divine Space, exterminating spellbeasts and saving his fellow humans!"
"Fox, you and I have always gotten along. I think it's time to act.
"This is our chance to help the missionaries clear out the spellbeasts and establish a connection with Deus Initium. This is a great opportunity for us!"
Hearing Jackson's solemn words, Fox's face was filled with shock.
He had never expected Jackson to hold Deus Initium in such high regard—to the point of wanting to intervene in this matter.
Jackson was well aware of how powerful the Earthborn Colossus was.
And yet, he had still chosen to stand with Annasi—or rather, with Deus Initium!
It was completely beyond Fox's expectations.
Moreover, the fact that Annasi's missionary was planning to target the Earthborn Colossus, and had even asked Jackson to spread the word, was outright madness!
The Earthborn Colossus was a tier-4 mid-level spellbeast!
Its body was as massive as a mountain and nearly indestructible.
Even the combined awakeners of Black Iron feared it immensely, for its combat strength was simply too terrifying.
If Thomas wasn't strong enough to defeat the Earthborn Colossus, then the enraged beast would stop at nothing to annihilate them all!
The Earthborn Colossus had long set its sights on Black Iron—it was only waiting for the right opportunity.
The only reason it had yet to make a move was because the spellbeasts of the Fallen Lands had been eyeing it as well.
Realizing this, Fox rushed toward Stone Mountain. No matter what, he had to stop Thomas—this reckless move would drag all of Black Iron into disaster!
But just as he left Black Iron, an explosive roar suddenly echoed through the air.
"Missionary of Deus Initium, Thomas, has come to slay the spellbeasts!"
"To rescue our brethren!"
The voice, like a tidal wave, spread in all directions, shaking even the ground beneath Black Iron.
The entire city was startled.
Fox, upon hearing these words, was utterly horrified.
"That Thomas is out of his mind! The Earthborn Colossus is a tier-4 mid-level spellbeast. If he wants to die, fine—but why drag us into it?!"
There was no doubt the Earthborn Colossus would be enraged by this provocation.
Fox knew the creature all too well.
It was arrogant and prideful, never acknowledging other beings as its equal.
Now, mere insects had dared to challenge it—it would never tolerate such an insult!
Meanwhile, within Black Iron, countless residents stared in shock at Stone Mountain.
That mountain was home to the Earthborn Colossus—a creature infamous for devouring humans!
This had been a long-standing legend in the city.
A constant shadow hanging over their heads.
And now, someone had dared to provoke this monstrously cruel spellbeast!
Deus Initium?
A missionary?
But there were no such things as gods!
The so-called gods were nothing more than spellbeasts in disguise, luring devotees in to be devoured.
After all, if gods truly existed...
Why had they never protected them?
Why had they allowed spellbeasts to torment them all this time?
That was why no one in Black Iron believed in gods anymore.
In fact, the very notion was laughable.
Even a child wouldn't believe such nonsense!
"That Thomas is insane! The Earthborn Colossus will be furious!"
"Exactly! When it goes on a rampage, we're the ones who will suffer! Why is Thomas dragging us into this?"
"If he really wants to slay spellbeasts, why not go somewhere else? Why come here to stir up trouble?"
"If he wants to die, why take us down with him?"
"A few years ago, plenty of fools tried to fight the Earthborn Colossus. And what happened? Every last one of them got eaten!"
Fear spread like wildfire among the residents.
Though they had long been oppressed by the Earthborn Colossus, at least they had been able to survive.
They had no desire to die!
"Esteemed Earthborn Colossus, this has nothing to do with Black Iron!"
"Please spare us! Next year, we will double our tribute to you!"
Many people, realizing the danger, immediately bowed in the direction of Stone Mountain, pleading for mercy.
The psychological shadow cast by the Earthborn Colossus had seeped into their very bones.
They dared not defy it.
Even the strongest awakeners in Black Iron were no match for the beast. The only reason it had spared them until now was because it still had some semblance of reason and had feared the Claw Tyrant of the Fallen Lands.
But if enraged, it would have no reservations.
As mere human awakeners, they were far too weak!
If the Earthborn Colossus went berserk, they wouldn't even be able to protect their families.
The entire city of Black Iron was gripped by fear.
Even the most powerful factions hid away, not daring to speak or show themselves.
Meanwhile, atop a mountain peak, Thomas gazed down at the terrified and panicked city below, his expression complicated.
Had it not been for Deus Initium, he too would have been just as afraid.
Human awakeners were still too weak.
He had come to eliminate the spellbeasts that plagued them, yet because their fear was so deeply ingrained, because they lacked faith in themselves, they opposed him instead.
It was absurd.
And yet, it was real.
