I reincarnated as an elf .......and married the yandere villainess.-Chapter 29:Grand hall
The elven throne room, which also featured as the grand hall was magnificent and grand. Walls inlaid with gold and colored gems that seemed to be flowing. The multitude of the world tree roots forming complex patterns in the walls showed their love for the giver of life.
At the very end raised on the dias was the throne. A simple but still magnificent seat made from different tree parts merged by plant manipulators to show the prosperity of the land.
Atheline and the delegation stood below the throne.
On their sides stood council members and different ministers who came to witness the formal introduction.
Above the king sat, dressed in white and golden robes, he was looking down at them his face impassive and authoritative.
The king stood up staff in hand and opened his arms in a welcoming gesture.
"Envoy of the Umbrail court," he said his voice steady and clear," Athius welcomes you."
There was a quiet pause to let the words sink in.
"May your journey through our lands be of peace....and shared purpose."
The woman with white hair stepped forward. Atheline could see the respect they held for her even the first elf that seemed in charge of the procession.
She placed her hand on her chest and bowed towards the king but not too deeply but enough to convey her respect.
A diplomatic bow.
"I’m Yander Blackburn the saintess of the moon goddess," she said," Envoy of her majesty, Queen of Umbrail court."
Atheline was screaming internally while pulling his hair.
’What the fuck is this shit! The heroine is here, the fucking protagonist is here and the villainess is coming what an unbelievably beautiful coincidence’
Despite his jumping thoughts he concentrated on the saintess as she continued her voice carried over.
"We accept your welcome, King Winster... and offer our gratitude for the honour extended to our people."
She glanced back at the lead elf who nodded and discreetly waved his hand.
Behind her, two dark elf guards stepped forward in perfect synchrony.
They carried between them a long black chest inlaid with royal blue gems that glimmered with each movement. They placed the chest softly on the floor then one guard knelt before it.
With a soft click the chest was opened and what was inside revealed.
Inside were treasures, countless different treasures some of which Atheline had never seen before.
The amount of Dark Aether flowing out of the objects was enough to show their value. Whatever had been brought was extremely valuable and expensive.
Atheline felt a small smidgen of jealousy as he looked at all those gifts. They were just too good.
A circlet, blackened silver in colour, inlaid with purple gems that glowed in the light.
A chain of interwoven dragon tendons inlaid with phoenix features, delicate yet unbreakable.
And an enchanted sharp ceremonial blade with its hilt etched in ancient dark elven scripts that he couldn’t understand.
’They really went all out huh’
Yander, the saintess, gestured at the offerings.
"Gifts from the Umbrail court," she said evenly," ... the symbol of our union."
She stepped to the open chest and pointed at the gifts while explaining their symbolism.
"The circlet, so that the union will be crowned not only in light but also in darkness. "
She moved to the next one.
"The chain, so that the bonds formed may never be broken, whether seen or unseen."
She paused for a moment then pointed to the next one.
"And the blade, so that what is joined here will forever be defended by both our people."
A mummered went through the court as the council members and some ministers discussed with interest.
The king regarded the gifts briefly and nodded.
"Your offering has been received with honour," he said his voice lighter than before.
He turned to the attendants and gestured towards them.
"In return, Athius has also prepared its own welcome."
At his behest, high elf attendants stepped forward each carrying their own assortment of gifts. They knelt in a line in front of the dark elves and lifted the gifts.
The covers on the golden tray were pulled back to reveal: crystal vials filled with glowing nectar, finely woven garments that shimmered, and a slender staff curved from the world tree itself, the little leaves unfurled as though it was alive.
The king gestured to each of them.
"Token of love, prosperity and harmony," the king said proudly," so that this union may not endure.."
He paused and met the head elf’s eyes.
"But flourish."
For a moment, Atheline felt as though the world had stopped as if something had acknowledged this unconventional union.
The saintess, Yander, inclined her head softly and smiled. Her smile was enough to brighten the room.
"Then let this be the first step," she caught a distance look, a small relief passed through her eyes," towards a union historians will remember. "
Atheline nodded along.
’Yeah, whatever is going to happen, history won’t be the only thing remembering’
Just like that, the events that were to happen in the novel had been set in motion.
The saintess stepped back and bowed a little as she joined the envoy.
"As we wait for the engagement and the wedding, we hope you will enjoy your time in our kingdom. We have arranged some of our brethren to guide you," the king glanced at Atheline, " through the kingdom, wherever you would like to go."
"Thank you, your majesty," the lead envoy said and bowed.
The king nodded back and stood up to leave. All high elves in the throne room bowed until he exited.
The prince stepped forward to guide the envoy out. Atheline and Caius followed behind them quietly.
Atheline spent the whole day guiding and introducing the envoy to the capital after the prince ditched him a few hours later after leaving the throne room.
’I can’t wait for this wedding to be done with’
Atheline’s thoughts were going out of control and the only thing keeping him going was the fact that Lily would be back in about four days.
