I reincarnated as an elf .......and married the yandere villainess.-Chapter 77:Possibilities.
Lilith touched the book again and Atheline lowered it down. He opened to the page they had been reading and she tapped the next page.
"You’ll notice something else if you keep reading," she said almost mysteriously.
Atheline turned to look at her his brow raised," What?"
She smiled a small but sharp smile then continued.
"We didn’t lose anything when we left."
Atheline read fast until he came to the place she had tapped. The descriptions were there.
"...your population increased after your departure."
"Yes."
"Your aether control and output also increased. "
"Your military strength..."
"Also improved."
’Wow, they really shone after leaving the high elf shadows’
"... Despite being given one of the most infested lands and going through all that.... " You didn’t fail," Atheline couldn’t hide his admiration.
While the high elf borders experienced cases of corruption spreading, the dark elf territory was basically a hotbed for the infestation and they seemed not to care at all unlike them.
"We didn’t fail because we’re adaptable," Klaith explained," while high elves remain in their little bubble around the world tree, we changed and grew."
That sat on him for a second as he processed their version of history. It came to Atheline that he had been too close-minded in his thinking.
’The elven brainwashing worked, I guess’
Atheline exhaled and gently set the book down on the table.
"Alright."
Lilith looked at him in confusion.
"Alright?"
Atheline nodded. He took her hand into his and gently touched her palm, rubbing against the calluses.
"If I’m going to rule here, I’m going to unlearn a lot."
For the first time, a look of approval flashed through his face. Lilith had a satisfied smile on her face.
"Correct, " Klaith said and nodded.
Lilith intertwined their fingers her smile still on her face.
"I told you," she said softly," you’d start to understand."
Atheline glanced at her briefly then back to the shelf. He wanted to know everything that was stored for him.
"So what next?"
Klaith turned and started to walk deeper into the library. Atheline helped Lilith stand up and followed. He didn’t forget to take the history book with him.
"Next," Klaith said hands behind his back," you learn how this kingdom actually functions."
He glanced back at them.
"History is useless if you don’t understand what it built."
Atheline nodded eager to learn about everything. He really wanted to be of some help to Lilith, and if cramming the whole library in under two months helped, then he really had to start planning his schedule.
At the moment he just had to know what he was going to start with in the large library.
Reading was always his strong suit but reading while getting distracted was not part of the plan.
Atheline was sitting on the floor his head between Lilith’s thighs.
She was sitting on the bed combing his hair while humming softly.
He had the first book he had been given open before him as he went through the world history from the dark elven perspective.
Most of it was the same as the elven but not all of them were. He looked up at her when he felt a tag in his hair.
"What are you looking at?" Lilith stopped combing through his hair and asked.
Atheline smiled.
"You pulled my hair," he said and pointed at the right side of his head," this is the twentieth time, you’re going to end up balding me."
She gave him an unimpressed look.
"You’re the one who got your hair tangled, " she said then added, " weren’t you the one who came and asked me to do it since it was taking longer by yourself. "
Atheline was floor for a bit.
’I just wanted to bond’
He chuckled.
"Do you know the elven continent was almost twice as big as it is now?" He asked changing the subject.
She narrowed her eyes but went back to combing his hair.
"Mmh."
"The sea is slowly swallowing up the lands, " he added.
"Mmh."
Atheline detangled himself from her and turned his head to look at her. Her tone was clearly different lower than normal.
"What, are you throwing a tantrum over something so little?" He asked incredulously.
"No."
Atheline sighed.
’Women’
"Turn around let me finish your hair," she added and physically turned his head around, " stop being dramatic just because I didn’t answer you the way you wanted."
Atheline scoffed. He leaned against her tight as she resumed her combing which had started to slowly lull him to sleep.
"I need you to join me in seeing someone tomorrow," she broke the comfortable silence.
Atheline turned just but not enough to pull on his hair.
"Who?" He asked.
"The saintess," she said nonchalantly, " she just arrived with the procession and she owes me something. "
Atheline frowned.
"Is it about the deal you made with the goddess?"
She nodded.
"Yes.. I want to get it over with quickly so that we can spend more time together. "
"You promised you’ll tell me about it after we get married, " he said.
She stopped combing her hair and Atheline stood up. He took a seat on the bed beside her and turned to look at him.
"It was actually quite simple, in exchange for marrying you," she paused, " she would reveal to me the locations of moon crystals."
"Aah," Atheline’s eyes widened in realisation, " that’s why you had asked for just any elf for your husband. "
She nodded.
"The goddess never specified really... as long as it’s a high elf then I’ll get my dues."
"So basically, she just wanted an alliance between the two of us?"
"Yes."
Atheline rubbed her thighs over her nightdress lost in thought.
"What would have happened if you hadn’t married me?" He asked, but dread was pooling in his stomach.
Since he didn’t know how everything went out of hand, it was better to understand from her perspective then he could try to piece together where everything went wrong.
"I would have killed him," she said with a cold smile," after I’ve mined everything. The goddess wouldn’t have anything to hold over my head with. If she can play, then I can just play better. "
Atheline felt the colour leaving his body. Lilith leaned in and touched his cheeks. Atheline placed his hands over her.
"I’m glad you married me," he said seriously.
Her eyes widened before she jumped into his arms.
"Me too," she answered and took his lips.

The night he left the palace under his master’s orders no one had stopped him. His position was high enough to warrant respect but most of the guards had all but ignored him.
That was good.
He didn’t want too much attention on him since what he was doing was almost risky if interpreted wrongly.
It pained him that the person he had served had been locked up in a gilded cage unsure of when he would ever be able to see the light.
The air in the dark elf kingdom was far heavier than that in the high elf kingdom.
Corrupted and Lunar Aether drifted like mist through the blackwood trees clinging like skin.
His lungs ached with each inhale but his body having been used to only absorbing solar aether was rejecting the invasion of the two.
He let out a small exhale and adjusted the cloak he was wearing and set off on the stone road leading out of the Four Mountains sanctuary.
They couldn’t start at the heart, that would be too obvious.
"Master said...Slowly, "he muttered to himself as the illusion magic settled over his white skin turning grey," don’t attract any attention."
He looked back at the rising collasol before getting onto the dark horse, a breed that could survive anywhere.
"No failures."
The words floated into the wind as he embarked to complete his master’s wishes. Recruitment and infiltration will take time but elves have the most patience.
