After accepting Jake's offer, Zunda's expression suddenly shifted into something more somber.

"Alright. See you tomorrow," Zunda replied, walking him to the door and watching as he lifted into the air and disappeared into the sky. She stood there for a while, unmoving, her mind spinning with thoughts she couldn't easily shake.

"Your Highness… did he do something to you?" came a timid voice. Riela, the soft meek girl from earlier, had appeared without warning, startling Zunda.

"N-No. I'm fine, Riela," Zunda replied quickly. "I want to take a nap. Prepare some warm water for me."

With that, she turned and quietly made her way to her room.

Jake returned to the kingdom and slipped straight into his room through the window. Luckily, Zamira wasn't inside, so he let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Just as he was about to strip out of his clothes and change into something more casual, his phone suddenly rang. He walked over and saw a familiar number flashing on the screen.

"Misty~" Jake muttered, picking it up and answering the call. "Mist—"

[I am fucking mad at you! You keep throwing out different excuses. We're tired of waiting. Vera, Aurora, Anne, Blair, and Hayes—they all need you. I swear, if you don't come back in two days, we're coming over there ourselves, and trust me, this is never going to happen again. You will not leave us hanging this long ever again. Two. Fucking. "Calm down, Misty. I wi—ahh, she hung up," Jake muttered, staring at his phone. His mood shifted instantly, a weight settling on his chest.
