I Start with a Mysterious Island-Chapter 82: As the Price, Go in Peace
BAM.
Caught in its grasp, Lin Li was yanked into the air by the gray Bear Beast’s immense strength and then slammed heavily onto the ground.
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
The gray Bear Beast swung him around repeatedly. After being slammed into the ground several times, Lin Li was dizzy and his entire body ached. He could feel that his right shoulder had suffered a serious injury, but he had no time to check it now.
"ROAR..." Seeing Lin Li completely powerless in its grasp, the gray Bear Beast sensed victory was near and let out an excited roar.
Just as it was about to continue swinging the ensnared Lin Li until he was dead, the detestable human before its eyes suddenly vanished.
"???"
’How did that despicable human suddenly disappear? What’s going on?’
The gray Bear Beast twitched its nose, sniffing the air, trying to find where the vanished human was hiding.
"Damn it. I was hoping to take you down while using as little Spiritual Energy and stamina as possible, but it looks like I have to go all out now."
With a single thought, Lin Li, who had retreated to the Mysterious Small Island, returned to the real world. Seeing the gray Bear Beast sniffing about, he planted the Spiritual Longsword in his hand into the ground and spoke in a serious tone.
When the gray Bear Beast saw the despicable human who had vanished reappear, it was puzzled as to how he had managed to escape its grasp.
However, it couldn’t afford to dwell on it. Right now, it just wanted to kill the detestable human before it as quickly as possible.
"ROAR..."
Roaring at Lin Li, the gray Bear Beast broke into a run, charging straight for him. It wanted to repeat its earlier victory, trading a minor injury for the win, just like before.
But after charging only a few meters toward Lin Li, it stopped dead in its tracks, its eyes filled with terror as it stared at the despicable human.
A blazing, scorching Fireball and a crescent-shaped Cyan Wind Blade appeared simultaneously in Lin Li’s hands.
In his left hand was a massive Fireball, fifty centimeters in diameter. In his right was a Cyan Wind Blade of the same diameter, radiating a sharp edge.
"Heh... Weren’t you so brave just a moment ago? Why don’t you keep charging at me? Come on, hurry up! If you don’t, I’ll look down on you," Lin Li taunted the terrified gray Bear Beast.
"ROAR..." The gray Bear Beast let out a low growl at Lin Li, the terror in its eyes intensifying.
It wasn’t an idiot. Taking a direct hit from the twenty-centimeter Fireball and Wind Blade from before would only result in minor injuries, nothing too serious.
But this Superpower attack was clearly at least twice as powerful. If it tried to face this one head-on, it would definitely be severely wounded.
"Die!" Lin Li hurled the massive Fireball.
The gray Bear Beast immediately dodged to the side. Expecting the Wind Blade to follow, it dodged and then dashed forward again, trying to use the sprint to evade the attack that was sure to come.
"Hmph... This time, I’m determined to take you down, even if it means using more Spiritual Energy. I won’t let you dodge my Fireball Attack that easily."
Lin Li sneered when he saw the gray Bear Beast escape his Fireball’s trajectory.
He then mobilized the Spiritual Energy in his body, and a faint golden Spiritual Light appeared around the left hand that had thrown the Fireball.
Then, he pointed his left hand at the dodging gray Bear Beast. The Fireball, which was mid-air, suddenly changed its flight path, speeding toward where Lin Li was pointing.
Controlling the trajectory of the Fireball was a technique Lin Li had mastered after breaking through to the Second Rank Initial Stage.
Although this technique increased the accuracy of his Fireballs, he couldn’t use it often.
Manipulating the flight path of a launched Fireball consumed a significant amount of Spiritual Energy.
Only when his cultivation advanced further and his internal Spiritual Energy reserves increased could he use this technique at will.
After dodging the Fireball and sprinting forward some distance, the gray Bear Beast glanced back and a look of terror appeared on its face.
’The Fireball! I clearly dodged that massive Fireball! Why did it make a turn and keep chasing me?’
"ROAR..." No longer able to dodge, the gray Bear Beast let out a roar full of indignation.
BOOM.
Under Lin Li’s control, the massive Fireball slammed into the gray Bear Beast. Scorching flames engulfed its entire body, setting its gray fur ablaze.
Scorched by the flames, the gray Bear Beast threw itself to the ground and rolled around, trying to extinguish the fire on its body.
WHOOSH.
A sharp, piercing sound cut through the air on the quiet stream bank.
The fire on its body not yet extinguished, the gray Bear Beast heard the sound and scrambled to its feet in a panic, trying to flee.
But it was too late.
Lin Li swung his hand, unleashing the long-awaited crescent-shaped Cyan Wind Blade. Its target was clear: to injure one of the gray Bear Beast’s hind legs and rob it of its ability to escape.
SPLURT.
Now more than twice its original size, the crescent-shaped Cyan Wind Blade’s destructive power had increased by more than double as well.
The razor-sharp Cyan Wind Blade struck the left leg of the gray Bear Beast as it was getting up to flee, crippling it instantly.
"ROAR..."
Having suffered a grievous blow, the gray Bear Beast let out a pained howl and collapsed heavily to the ground.
WHOOSH, WHOOSH, WHOOSH...
No longer conserving his Spiritual Energy, Lin Li went all out, launching one massive, crescent-shaped Cyan Wind Blade after another at the fallen gray Bear Beast.
SLASH.
SLASH.
SLASH.
"ROAR..."
In just a short while, the gray Bear Beast’s massive body was covered in wounds from the relentless assault of the huge Cyan Wind Blades.
Blood gushed from the gruesome wounds, and soon, a large patch of the green grass beneath it was stained red.
Just as humans can die from excessive blood loss, so too can Mutant Beasts.
"ROAR..." The gray Bear Beast lay on the ground, weakened from excessive blood loss. It stared fixedly at Lin Li, letting out continuous roars.
However, because of its blood loss, its roars were now far weaker than before.
"You’re the first Mutant Beast to force me to retreat into the Mysterious Small Island. You should be proud. And as for the price... you can rest in peace now."
Lin Li muttered to the gray Bear Beast, which was filled with hatred for him. Then, he shifted his focus, aiming his next attacks at its head. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
