Chapter 488 - 488 Invincible: The Life and Death of Robot, Invincible is Brutally Slaughtered and The Strongest Beast; Battle Beast.
The girls already knew where Allen was headed. After hiring Demian Darkblood, Allen had tasked him with tracking various people, including the real location of the one who controls Robot.
Robot is a machine with a simple personality, but he is also the alter ego of his creator, Rudolph Conners.... Rudolph was born to suffer; if there were a definition for Rudolph, it would be that his intelligence is equivalent to the suffering each agonizing moment in his life represents.
Rudolph has no future... However, he still doesn't give up. He has a plan, and for that, he needs the Mauler twins, but the plan he designed to create a new body is not as perfect as it sounds because that body is actually a clone; one where Rudolph will copy his mind and memories. Much like the Mauler twins, but unlike them, he will not survive, and he accepts it. So, from beginning to end, it is his clone who is destined to be the final villain of Invincible, not him.
Artoria – Allen, what do you plan to do?
"I still don't know..."
Esdeath – You need to kill him... there is no other option.
"..."
Makima – Esdeath's right. Robot can create very dangerous inventions, and if he's destined to become a tyrant, an early end is a blessing.
Wednesday – Hmm wait, the original Rudolph Conners is going to die anyway, right? Just prevent him from creating his clone and transferring his memory...
Rebecca – Yeah honey, the unit called 'Robot' is perfectly capable of operating without help, so you won't even be taking away the Guardians' leader.
Gwen – Robot hasn't done anything yet. Besides, it's his clone's fault. I agree with Wednesday; if you don't want to take the risk, just prevent that clone from being born.
MJ – I haven't had an easy life, but compared to him, I don't have the right to decide his life or death... I support you, darling.
Felicia – Allen, you don't have to make that decision. It's not even your world. You can choose to do nothing and decide what to do when things happen...
Allen's gaze remained serious, and his mind was calm as he listened to the arguments from his dolls and girlfriends. There were many ways to deal with this, from killing Robot outright to ignoring him.
What decision would Allen make?
After thinking for a moment in silence, Allen's gaze sharpened, and he headed toward the place he had been avoiding all this time.
"Thanks, everyone..."
...
*Allen's POV*
The place was clean and filled with innovative technology to keep the environment sterile for the patient or the prisoner, depending on your perspective.
It was full of machines, all meant to keep Rudolph alive. But why would someone do that? Because of Rudolph's intelligence, his mere existence is an advantage for humanity. Isn't that right, Cecil?
I mocked silently. It was inevitable that people would consider Cecil a villain if he did things like this.
As I approached Robot's capsule, my Chat held its breath. Everyone was stunned by the real appearance of Rudolph.
I silently stared at the man and asked him the question I should. His response was what I anticipated. I don't know if I would be able to live in that miserable condition like him. Regardless of what I choose, his death will bring change to the world... lives would be lost, lives would be saved, and everything would be different. Besides, killing him, a man who is already willing to die for a clone, would perhaps be a favor to him.
A man who is thirty but trapped in a deformed and pitiful body...
Unable to go anywhere...
Unable to move...
Not knowing what it's like to sit...
Not knowing what it's like to eat...
Not knowing how the wind feels...
A man for whom breathing alone must be agony...
Why are you alive?... It's not contempt for him, just... I don't know if I'd be able to stay alive if I were him... My gaze turned cold, and I began to recite the purple spell.
"Nine strings"
This is fine...
"Polarized light"
On the one hand, a miserable man will find peace; on the other, I rid myself of a great problem in the future...
"Raven and Declaration"
This is what I should do, and this is what he wants...
"The gap between the external and the internal"
Rudolph closed his eye with a peaceful look as two infinities collided, creating Purple Hollow...
"Thank you..."
"...!"
The light began to fade as I started to feel irritated. In the end, I decided to stop enduring this atmosphere.
"You know what? Screw it!"
"What?" Rudolph looked at me, confused by my sudden change.
"Come on man, I'm not going to carry your death. It's pitiful." I shrugged and looked at him with disdain. "Whether you become a villain or the last boss of the world, but that's in the future. I'll just show up and destroy you then. Until then, I don't see the need to do anything. You're so miserable that I feel like you'll bring me bad luck if I kill you."
Rudolph's gaze shifted with emotions for the first time. His eye reflected surprise, even a hint of wonder.
"If you're so sure of your words, you'll regret it..."
"You're wrong," my gaze turned serious. "I am Allen Walker."
Rudolph's eye focused on mine as if he were using all his brainpower to understand my words. "What does that mean?"
"Who knows... maybe in the future, you'll understand."
"I see..."
There was a silence that stretched between the two of us. Rudolph seemed tired and closed his eye. "If you don't mind, I want to rest... It's almost time for me to be reborn..."
His voice was tired and slow as if he was already determined to end it all. The man was already ready to leave and make room for a clone.
"You're wrong, you won't be reborn. That clone may have your mind and memories, but it's not you. You will die alone and cruelly. Your soul will depart, and in the end, if you're lucky, a better future awaits you in that place. But the original Rudolph Conners will definitely die."
"I know... I know, but I've already decided..."
Rudolph Conners, are you okay with that?
"And what if there were another way"
Rudolph's eye opened, and he looked at me with a hint of curiosity, though not expecting anything. "Allen Walker... now I am unable to measure the extent of your abilities, but I doubt you can change my miserable curse..."
"Oh~, I told you, I'm Allen Walker!" I smiled almost unable to hold back laughter.
"..."
"I have various ways of dealing with you, but there's one in particular that's the best. In a faraway place, there was a bastard named Mahito, from Jujutsu Kaisen, who possessed the cursed technique called 'Idle Transfiguration.'"
The man behind Robot looked at me with interest. Given that thinking was the only thing fate, god, or the world allowed him to do at birth, he was someone who loved knowledge.
"This technique allowed him to directly manipulate the soul of any living being he touched. Since the body follows the shape of the soul, Mahito could distort, deform, or even instantly kill his victims by altering their souls. He could also use this ability on himself to change his appearance, regenerate, or create weapons from his own body..." My eyes sparkled as I declared my opposition to fate.."In other words, I can turn that cursed body the world gave you into Leonardo DiCaprio if I want to!"
"...!"
Rudolph trembled, causing bubbles to form in his capsule. He hadn't expected me to be able to do something like that. Of course, I needed to acquire the technique from the system and practice. It's a profane technique, and I wouldn't want to use it too much, but I think I'm capable of it. Plus, my goal would be the opposite of Mahito's.
"Allen Walker... is that true?!"
Robot had a look filled with something I hadn't seen up until now—hope. I sighed. I had abandoned the hero's path the moment I accepted Void, but I think doing something like this now and then isn't too bad.
"It's not my specialty, but with practice, I could turn your body into a normal one... no, I can DEFINITELY do it!"
This content is taken from freeweɓnovel.cѳm.
With my cursed technique "The Limit of Fate" and the Schrift "The Absolute," I will definitely accomplish this, though I should start opening boxes, hoping one of them holds the cursed technique of that damned Mahito.
*End of POV*
Rick – Well, a quick end for that miserable guy was best, but whatever. "Burp* At first, I thought Robot was smart, but he can't solve his problem without help. I am disappointed!
PercyJ – Come on, Rick, don't be an asshole. The poor guy has lived thirty years in a capsule. It's just extreme cruelty!
Angelica (Gilgamesh) – He has the perfect excuse to be a villain, but as MJ said earlier, he was a hero at first. It was only after many things that he became a villain.
MJ – Even then, he thought it was the best thing for the world...
Emma Frost – Honey, that last part doesn't justify him because all tyrants use the excuse of "It was for the best."
Superman – On the other hand, I'm glad that deep down, Allen still has compassion.
Kara – What are you saying, cousin? Allen has always been kind.~
Gwen – Yep~
MJ – Hehe~
Unohana – Ara ara~ my husband has a very kind side even though it hasn't shown lately~
...
Rudolph stared into the eyes of the man in front of him. He had always been an enigma, and after analyzing all the information he had gathered, he concluded that Allen Walker had visited many more worlds besides this one. He must have seen so many things that it would be hard for anything in this world to impress or threaten him.
Robot envied him. He smiled bitterly, thinking life was too unfair. For some time, he had believed his condition was a payment equal to his intelligence. But before him was someone who had everything: power, health, beauty, women, everything.
Through Robot, Rudolph began to hate Allen. He started to resent him, but he didn't plan anything against him. Instead, he convinced himself to give up his life to give a chance to a new version of himself. Maybe Rudolph Conners would die, but Rudy would live on...
Rudolph opened his mouth, and as the heavy words brushed his throat, he said, "A... alright, you're free to experiment with me. If, by some miracle, you give me legs to walk, arms to hold, and let me out of this place, I promise you won't even have to worry about me becoming a villain. I'll kill myself before that happens..."
Allen nodded and left the place...
(Hours later)
Allen sat on his couch, overlooking the city. When Wednesday approached with a drink, Allen pulled her onto his lap.
"Do you need anything else from me, master?" Wednesday teased, trailing her hand over Allen's chest.
Allen hugged her, his eyes showing a mixture of lust but also a hidden premonition. "This day felt strangely peaceful, like a prelude to something more."
Allen used his hand to pull Wednesday closer and kissed her.
'Well, that's a problem for tomorrow...'
...
(The next day)
Allen appeared atop a building. Demian Darkblood stood on the ledge, looking elsewhere.
"What did you need from me, Demian?"
Allen sounded a bit impatient. Yesterday, he almost sealed the deal with Wednesday, but she escaped at the last moment. He knew she was just teasing him; she was just as eager as him but also enjoyed postponing it and provoking him constantly. As a result, Makima and Rebecca had to endure his frustration all night. Not that the two girls complained, of course.
Darkblood's eyes glimmered as he pointed to a building. "Machine Head finally appeared..."
Allen stopped and smiled, "Oh, the bastard hid well for three months..."
Allen admitted that he made a mistake. He had taken Isotope from Machine Head, cornering him, making him more fearful and cautious, so he hid, conducting his business through intermediaries. After all, not even the fear of death would stop Machine Head from generating more profits.
Demian took out his notebook. He had been looking at Machine Head for months without success. It was like he could see the future.
"The guy is obsessed with money. The fact that he had to hide because of you created a hatred toward you. However, he knows your strength and wouldn't try anything against you easily..."
Demian looked at Allen, who didn't even blink upon hearing this.
"Oh... so if he showed up, it's because he has a guarantee against me..."
Allen blinked, feeling a strange premonition, a strong presence that seemed to have him in its sights, but he didn't pay it much attention.
"Hm..."
Allen glanced sideways at the demon who seemed to have something else to say, "Is there anything else, Darkblood?"
"It's about Titan... He appears to be a good man forced by Machine Head to commit atrocious acts because he owes him a lot of money. However, several of his moves seemed odd, like a snake waiting to strike."
Allen squinted lazily at the building where Machine Head was. Below, on the street, were Invincible and Titan, both intending to break into the place.
Titan is the villain Invincible faced, who could cover his body with a layer of rock or granite as armor. He is indeed a pawn of Machine Head against his will. He has a wife and daughter, whom he doesn't want to put in danger due to Machine Head's threats.
Allen anticipates that if this part of the story follows the canon, by now, Titan would have paid off his debt, and his wish was to leave this world and focus on being a father and husband. However, Machine Head, being greedy, threatened to harm his family, which led Titan to change his mind and hatch a plot to overthrow Machine Head.
To do that, he contacted Invincible and convinced him to help. But it was a trap. Titan was using Invincible; his goal wasn't to destroy Machine Head's criminal empire but to take it for himself.
If Allen knew all this, why didn't he stop Invincible from teaming up with Titan?
Allen isn't his babysitter. If he chooses to believe Titan's words, that's his decision. As for Allen, he was just waiting for Machine Head to appear, and as expected, he only did when he managed to gather enough powerful villains.
...
Inside the building, Invincible and Titan made their way to Machine Head's office and broke down the door. There he was, surrounded by several individuals.
"Seriously, you broke my door? it was made of German Oak!, it wasn't even locked, you idiots!" Machine Head wasn't as concerned about their intentions as he was about the fact that they broke his precious door.
"A... sorry?" Invincible, not knowing Machine Head's nature, apologized and then exchanged a confused glance with Titan.
"There was no way to know." Titan's response.
Machine Head is picky, materialistic, irritable, and insensitive. His only concern is accumulating wealth, and he doesn't care how many people are hurt or die because of his demands. He has little tolerance for failure and mistakes and thus reacts violently and crudely. To complement his elitist criminal behavior, Machine Head is threatening and cunning. He demanded that Titan continue working for him, but he phrased it as though it were his only option.
He calmed himself and looked at Titan, "It doesn't matter, I'll sell your bodies to science or something to recover the money."
Machine Head's statement angered Invincible, but he didn't attack, as they were facing a team of very powerful supervillains.
"I always knew you'd betray me. Your nature was obvious, Titan. Sometimes you left people alive when they needed to die," he said, referring to when Titan evacuated a building instead of burning people alive while they were still inside. Machine Head's eyes glowed. "But now, I'm waiting for a distinguished guest, so I don't have time to deal with you,"
Machine Head made a hand gesture, and the supervillains attacked.
One of them, dressed entirely in yellow, transformed into electricity and appeared in front of Invincible to slam him into the wall.
"Invincible!" Titan shouted but was attacked by an intense blast of magma from a man made of magma. Titan resisted and moved away from the lava, but there was a giant metal creature, looking like a machine, waiting for him. It struck him, breaking the ground.
Invincible attacked the man of electricity, but he dodged, then attacked the magma man, but his body was intangible. It was like fighting Logia users from One Piece.
"Damn!"
Mark was in shock. He was used to dealing with enemies he could punch, but these two might not be defeated in that way.
"Don't get distracted, Invincible~?" a sarcastic voice said.
At this moment of confusion, a red tentacle made of organic tissue trapped him. The origin was a bald man, and the tentacle came out of his chest.
"What?!"
The bald man began slamming him against the walls, then held him so the supervillain of electricity could electrocute him.
"Ahh!"
"Gah!"
Amid his pain, Mark saw Titan about to be melted by the magma supervillain. So, he grew furious, freed himself, and, in a burst of rage and adrenaline, slammed the tentacle villain against the wall and prepared to rescue Titan. But he was intercepted by a massive humanoid lion who slammed him into the ground with such force that it broke a few of his bones.
Huh?
Invincible, stunned, didn't expect to be defeated so easily. He looked at his enemy with fear. He had felt it just moments ago. This beast was very strong.
"Hello, kid..." Battle Beast said, with a slight look of disappointment. "Hey!, where's the one you mentioned?"
Machine Head raised his hand. "Don't worry, Battle Beast, he'll be here soon... Meanwhile, you can entertain yourself with Invincible."
"He's not worthy of dying..."
Battle Beast flicked his ears, just like Machine Head.
"Something's coming..."
...
Allen watched the fight from the building alongside Demian. His coat flapped in the wind while his gaze remained focused from start to finish on Battle Beast.
"You must be bored and frustrated with having to hold back, right?"
"Do you know him?" the demon beside him asked, but Allen didn't respond.
Battle Beast must be the important and powerful character with the most simplistic and trollish introduction in history. He appears as a background character, implying that he is just a bodyguard, an ordinary lackey when in reality, he could kill half a dozen Viltrumites.
Battle Beast, Scourge of the Twin Galaxies, the strongest warrior who has never known defeat, is the second strongest in the universe.
Allen watched calmly and without disturbance, as the strongest and most feared Leonine creature slaughtered Invincible without breaking a sweat. "I've always wondered... if not for your honor, which forced you to hurt yourself in your final fight, would you have won, Thokk?"

A/N: If you've only seen the animated series you can't imagine what this humanoid lion is capable of 🍷🗿
