I Want a Divorce Every Day, But the Superstar Says No-Chapter 113: Divorce Agreement
This kiss carries an obvious, boldly flaunted punishment.
Even if his initial intention was merely to silence her, the moment his lips touched her soft ones, an electric tingle surged through his body.
Quiana Sutton could only feel Durrell Landon’s breath invading every inch of her body, and she could even sense him losing control as his lips moved to her collarbone, beginning to undo her clothes.
"Stop——"
By this moment, she was completely sober, pushing him away forcefully, and even stumbled onto the ground due to the force.
Durrell Landon staggered from her push but didn’t mind himself as he quickly helped her up, a faint, hard-to-detect sorrow flashing in his eyes: "You’re being reckless."
She shook off Durrell’s hand, not wanting to provoke him further, pinching her forehead with a headache and spoke in a calm tone:
"Durrell Landon, I don’t want to wait any longer, let’s get a divorce tomorrow."
A look of astonishment flashed in Durrell Landon’s eyes, and without thinking, he picked her up and held her in his arms: "Are you really that eager? After divorcing me, who do you plan to find?"
The reason he lost control tonight was partly because he had followed her and saw Nathan Firth hugging her.
As a man, he clearly understood what Nathan’s gaze toward her meant.
She let him hold her without moving, her eyes lowered, and she said hoarsely: "I lied to you, after the divorce, I won’t find anyone."
Loving someone is exhausting, always filled with hope while loving, but often ending in disappointment.
She didn’t want to experience that feeling again.
Moreover, she didn’t need a man that badly.
More importantly, when Durrell touched her, her heart would ripple, and she didn’t want her hard-earned decision to be in vain.
Furthermore, she didn’t want to be the reason Nathan Firth would go after Durrell Landon.
Durrell’s lips moved slightly, he could see she was serious.
"What if I don’t agree?"
She looked up at him: "Durrell Landon, I don’t want our divorce to end in self-destruction."
After a long pause...
Durrell finally spoke: "Fine, we’ll go to Ewan Xyler’s law firm tomorrow."
He was prepared in his heart, but he never imagined that saying these words would feel like his soul was being torn apart.
He agreed so readily, yet she didn’t feel a sense of relief at all; instead, it was as if a huge stone pressed down on her chest, making it hard to breathe.
This suffocating feeling was more unbearable than when he ignored her.
It was at this moment she finally realized that she might very likely truly love Durrell Landon.
Unfortunately, he didn’t love her as much.
After their divorce, he would probably get engaged and married to another woman, maybe he’d remember her, maybe he wouldn’t, and maybe one day if they met on the road, they’d act as if they didn’t know each other.
She forced a difficult smile,
"They say divorce should be celebrated, so let’s drink up tonight."
She rarely got drunk; it usually only happened when she was extremely happy or extremely unhappy.
But in this situation, she found herself getting more sober the more she drank.
...
The next day.
At Ewan Xyler’s law firm.
Ewan Xyler looked at Quiana Sutton and Durrell Landon sitting in front of him, smelling of alcohol, and took off his glasses to pinch his nose in a headache: "Both of you in this drunk state? Are you sure you want to finalize the divorce today?"
Quiana: "Today."
If they waited until they were sober, unexpected complications might arise.
Durrell had no objections.
Being sober only made him feel as if his heart was being torn apart; being drunk at least brought some numbness.
Since both were so insistent, Ewan Xyler handed the pre-prepared divorce agreement to Quiana and Durrell.
Quiana signed her name without even looking at it.
Ewan Xyler glanced at Quiana’s signature, giving a faint chuckle, and said lightly: "You don’t need to review the agreement?"
Quiana: "No need, I already said I’d leave with nothing, and we have a prenuptial agreement."
Ewan didn’t say more, placing the divorce papers in front of Durrell, "Mr. Landon, your turn to sign."
Durrell didn’t read the divorce agreement; he didn’t even know how he managed to write ’Durrell Landon.’
After signing, he felt an uncomfortably surreal sense of daze.
He didn’t even realize when they left Ewan Xyler’s law firm.
Standing at the firm’s door, Quiana felt the cool breeze, sobering up slightly.
The dampish wind swirled around her, and she spoke softly, her voice seemingly breaking in the wind.
"Durrell Landon, from now on, we go our separate ways, with no further ties."
After saying that, she turned and left, not seeing Durrell’s pale, restrained face.
One walked east, the other west, gradually growing distant, seemingly never to intersect again.
After taking a shower at the hotel rented by the film crew, Quiana saw Durrell again.
However, she was much calmer this time.
Now, all she hoped for was the film’s filming to wrap up soon, so she wouldn’t have to see Durrell Landon again.
She called Grace Sutton: "Grace, after the film finishes shooting, do I have any other schedules?"
Grace took a look: "Nothing for now."
"Then please help me arrange more if possible."
Grace: "..."
Quiana wasn’t particularly lazy before, but she certainly wasn’t this diligent.
In her eyes, Quiana entered the entertainment industry just for fun, as if at any moment she would leave, and suddenly today she called asking for more work?
It seemed very unusual.
The only thing she could think of was that something must have happened to her, needing work to numb herself.
Cautiously she asked: "Did something happen to you?"
Quiana: "..."
She was surprised by Grace’s sensitivity but said nothing.
"No, I just thought it would be a waste if I didn’t make the most of this big production opportunity."
Grace felt a bit relieved, a feeling like she was witnessing her child’s maturity.
Quiana finally seemed to be taking work seriously.
"I’ll try to arrange more for you, but don’t complain about being tired then."
...
...
Three days later.
In Serene Ink Garden.
Lunaria rushed in without even knocking.
"Master."
Nathan Firth looked at him with some displeasure: "You better have something important, or you should know the consequences."
Lunaria: "Master, we just received news that Durrell Landon signed a divorce agreement with Miss Sutton, but he gave all his assets, including the Imperial View Manor, to her.
And earlier, while Universal Corporation’s stock price dropped, GrandPure Corporation secretly acquired a large number of shares, and Durrell also sold his shares to GrandPure Corporation. Now, GrandPure Corporation is the biggest controller of Universal Corporation, and we just found out that GrandPure Corporation actually belongs to Durrell too.
So, now Universal Corporation is Miss Sutton’s."
After speaking, he lowered his head, not daring to meet Nathan Firth’s eyes.
Nathan Firth heard this, and instead of being angry, he laughed.
Durrell Landon, is this the way you protect the Landon Family?
You ultimately included her in your schemes.
Knowing Universal Corporation belonged to her, you figured he wouldn’t be able to act rashly, right?
He was truly surprised.
To be so ruthlessly calculated against the woman he loved, he truly underestimated Durrell Landon.
