I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…-Chapter 405: Voltaris Apex Scythemantis
Chapter 405: Voltaris Apex Scythemantis
Logan looked toward Voltar, who also turned to face him.
The mantis was larger than before; it was already at level 83.

[Skills:]
- Storm Veil Cloak (Rank: Advanced) –
An evolved form of Static Cloak, this skill surrounds Voltar in a dense storm barrier. Grants high evasion, deflects projectiles with electrical arcs, and renders him semi-invisible in mist or low-light environments.
- Arc Scythe Barrage (Rank: Advanced) –
Voltar unleashes a rapid flurry of scythe strikes charged with electricity. Each hit chains between enemies and builds power with each successful strike. The more targets hit, the stronger the damage and discharge effects become.
- Flash Step Burst (Rank: Supreme) –
A high-speed blink technique that lets Voltar dash in a zigzag pattern across the battlefield. Leaves behind afterimages charged with volatile energy—when touched, they explode in a lightning chain reaction.
- Overload Pulse (Rank: Supreme) –
An upgraded Electromagnetic Pulse that sends a powerful energy wave to scramble magical fields, disrupt tech artifacts, and disable enemy buffs for 10 seconds. Causes interference to all mana-based constructs within range.
- Thunder Nest (Rank: Supreme) –
Creates an electrified zone using charged webbing. Shocks and slows all enemies within the area while boosting allied agility and granting minor mana shielding. Field persists for 20 seconds.
- Volt Requiem (Rank: Mythic) –
Voltar’s ultimate skill. He gathers raw electricity into his wings and blades before releasing a battlefield-wide surge. Marks explode with lightning, causing undodgeable paralysis and disorientation. Devastating against groups of tagged enemies.
[Abilities:]
- Scythemaster Form (Rank: Supreme / Passive) –
Voltar has mastered bladed combat. His scythe strikes deal bonus damage, ignore part of enemy defenses, and land with increased critical hit chance. Consecutive strikes grant 5% bonus attack speed (up to 5 stacks).
- Electric Call (Rank: Advanced / Passive) –
Voltar becomes enveloped in ambient electricity. While active:
– Lightning-based skills deal +25% damage
– Melee attackers suffer recoil damage and 1-second stun
– Nearby enemy spellcasters suffer mana disruption and slowed reaction speed within 8 meters

[Just you and me. How about it? Let’s use my new skill... see what happens when we merge.]
Logan’s voice carried through the Empathic Link. He had only done this once before—with Scorch. But today, it was time to test it again.
"We’ll see what happens soon enough."
Logan mounted Voltar’s back, the towering three-meter mantis crouching low before leaping into the warp portal. They emerged onto the battlefield, just two hundred meters from the Temple of Earth.
Before them stretched a vast formation of demons, arranged in eerily perfect lines. Blue-skinned demons made up a portion of the force, but most were insect-like humanoids—bulkier, fiercer, and beetle-like.
They stood tall with armored shells, jointed limbs, and feral expressions. Their dark, glossy carapaces shimmered with gem-like hues under the shifting light—beautiful in a terrifying way.
"How about it, Voltar? As a mantis... feel anything when you look at these er... Ghrells?"
Logan narrowed his eyes as he asked.
Suddenly, volts of electricity surged around Voltar’s body, crackling violently across his exoskeleton. Logan instinctively activated his own defense to avoid getting scorched by the electrical arcs.
[Food. Just food to eat.]
Voltar’s deep mental tone sent a chill down Logan’s spine.
He didn’t plan to let the mantis fight yet—not until the time was right.
Voltar walked a few steps as Logan inspected everyone participating in the battle. Silis and Terra held the center, massive and unshakable. Lisa, radiant and calm, stood at the front lines, her light magic already pulsing around her like a large shield.
To the left, Ruben helped command the Warks—riding beasts of all kinds, from raptors and armored hogs to giant ants.
To the right, Krexa led the goblins, each one mounted on a variety of battle-ready creatures—wolves, bears, and sleek jungle felines.
The warhorns hadn’t sounded yet. But the tension in the air said it all.
Two mechs could be spotted around him—Irma and Wayana—both just as heavily armored as the boy who forged them.
Logan’s own army was nothing short of a thousand creatures—powerful, massive, and all prepared to defend their land.
Gaia’s form stood all the way in the back. His role was to remain near the Temple of Earth, along with the guardian Ramos, who had transformed into a strange blend between a ferret and an earth dragon. Logan couldn’t tell who was bigger—Ramos or Silis.
"Well then, I guess I should take up the front. Voltar, get into position."
The large green mantis beat its wings and, with a powerful hop, landed ten meters ahead of the front line. Cheers erupted from the allied creatures at their arrival.
From the enemy’s side, Logan could hear the demons and creatures reacting, fussing loudly over his dramatic entrance.
His eyes shifted toward the two leading figures: Zaryx and a large beetle-like being that appeared feminine. Her body was slightly thinner than the others, but the armor she wore radiated an unknown power. In terms of looks, it was an elegant blend of polished jade and onyx.
She was curvaceous, and in each of her four hands, she held a large lance. Just looking at her, one could sense her lethal intent.
Without a word, she suddenly smiled—and hurled one of her lances toward Voltar.
Her face was oddly humanoid, adorned with long antennae and two large, gleaming compound eyes.
Voltar didn’t hesitate. With a single slash of his scythe, he swatted the incoming lance, shattering it into glittering fragments. The broken weapon cracked midair, scattering gem-like shards across the ground. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"Earth creature? But... her weapons are gem-like," Logan muttered, taking note. He narrowed his eyes. He was going to tame that queen, no matter what. Even if it was the last thing he did here.
"Hero of Taming... I heard you finally got your power-up. I congratulate you."
Everyone turned as Zaryx stepped forward in the distance, clapping his hands slowly.
"I must acknowledge that you grew faster than I anticipated," he said, voice calm but laced with venom. "But we have finally achieved our own goals."
He gestured toward the army behind him—an unending line of monstrous forms and insect-like soldiers.
"This army... it comes from our true land. Which means—we did it. We’ve bridged the two worlds."
Zaryx’s gaze locked onto Logan’s.
"And now... we must repay you for the damage you’ve caused to our cause."
