I Was Born With A Bloodline That Ended The World-Chapter 94: How about a bet
The Physical didn’t let up, he kept punching, each blow hitting harder, the shield cracking with each impact.
The Mystical girl’s lips thinned as she fought to hold the shield. But she didn’t just defend.
With a sudden pulse of green light, she released the shield entirely, letting the force of his punch throw her back.
She turned the momentum into a spin, her foot lashing out in a roundhouse kick that slammed into his ribs. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
He grunted, but his face didn’t change. He caught her foot with one hand, twisting it and yanking her forward. She stumbled, but her hands were already weaving another spell.
A flash of green light erupted between them, and the Physical was forced to let go as a whip of pure energy cracked across his chest.
The crowd was on their feet now, cheering and shouting as the two fighters fell back to catch their breath.
Sweat dripped down the Mystical girl’s forehead, but her eyes were bright with the thrill of the fight.
The Physical cracked his neck, his expression still calm, but his chest rose and fell faster now.
The instructor didn’t interfere. He just watched, arms crossed, eyes sharp.
This was what the tournament was about, testing limits, seeing how far each fighter could go.
They circled each other again, and this time it was the Physical who moved first.
He darted in low, one shoulder rolling forward as if he was going to tackle her.
At the last moment, he switched directions, pivoting and swinging his leg in a sweeping kick meant to knock her feet out from under her.
The Mystical jumped back, the kick missing by inches.
She countered by sending another wave of green energy forward, the vines slamming into the floor and bursting up in a wall meant to cut him off.
But he was already there, punching through the vines with a burst of brute force that shattered them into sparks.
The two clashed again, fists and spells trading blows in a storm of motion and energy. Each time the Mystical tried to pull distance, the Physical closed it.
Each time he tried to lock her down, she found a way to slip free. The fight didn’t last long, it couldn’t, with so much raw power flying around.
In the end, it was a single mistake that ended it. The Mystical tried to weave a barrier too close to herself, and the Physical took the opening.
He smashed through the half-formed shield, his fist slamming into her gut and sending her sprawling to the floor.
She lay there for a moment, gasping for breath, before the instructor stepped forward and called the match.
The Physical offered her a hand up. She took it, and they exchanged a short nod of respect.
The crowd roared in appreciation as the two stepped back to the sidelines. And then it was on to the next match.
Rhian nodded to the fight, impressed by the clash of elements and sheer willpower.
But as he watched the Mystical girl struggle under the Physical’s relentless close-range pressure, he noted something important, Mysticals, unless specifically trained for it, struggled when forced into close combat.
It wasn’t absolute, but it was a pattern he’d seen again and again.
He stored that thought away. In this tournament, knowing your own weaknesses was as important as knowing how to exploit someone else’s.
The loud announcer’s voice cut through the cheers of the crowd.
"AND THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH, LIAM ROWAN!"
The Physical fighter raised a hand, his expression calm but respectful.
The Mystical girl gave him a short bow before stepping back.
Rhian watched them both leave the stage, his mind already shifting from the fight to the next round.
Nia moved around the other students, apologizing as she made her way through the crowd. When she finally reached Rhian, his expression shifted from curiosity to a calm smile.
"You ready?" he asked, his tone light.
Nia gave him a small nod and stepped closer, her eyes holding a spark of challenge. "What about you?"
Rhian smirked slightly. "Obviously. But I’m curious who my first opponent will be. I know I’m stronger than most here in pure brute force, but those top students... they’re on another level."
Nia exhaled quietly, her gaze steady. She knew exactly who he was talking about—the same students who’d dominated the portal expedition.
Justin Harman, the hybrid powerhouse. The ice-and-fire girl.
All of them had signed up, and the atmosphere around them had only grown sharper because of it.
"They’re here too," she said softly. "You’ll have to be careful, especially when it’s your turn."
Rhian just grinned, rolling his shoulders like he was shaking off any worry. "Careful? I’m planning to test myself. Win or lose, I want to see how far I’ve come."
Nia didn’t answer right away. She didn’t need to. The way she looked at him said enough, she trusted him to do exactly that, no matter who stepped into the ring with him.
Rhian smiled. That was one of the things he liked most about Nia, they shared a mindset that craved challenge, that loved the test of combat as much as the victory itself. It was one of the biggest reasons they had grown so close.
She leaned back and smirked. "How about a bet?"
He raised an eyebrow. "On what?"
"The first to get eliminated or to lose has to do something," she said, her tone casual but her eyes bright with mischief.
Rhian tilted his head. "What kind of something?"
She paused, a flicker of uncertainty in her expression. "I don’t know. Maybe the loser has to do whatever the winner says."
Rhian chuckled, shaking his head. "So you’re making bets without even having a prize in mind? That’s bold."
Nia shoved his arm lightly. "What? Don’t tell me you’re scared to agree."
He gave her a challenging grin. "Not at all. Alright, deal. But you better not regret it when you lose."
She rolled her eyes, but her smile didn’t waver. "We’ll see, Rhian."
Rhian shook his head. "By the way, I do need an assistant."
Nia’s eyes widened. "What? Assistant for what?"
He smirked. "For training. Or maybe just someone to fetch me snacks when I’m too busy."
Nia’s mouth fell open, then she punched his arm lightly. "In your dreams."
"I wouldn’t say that, you might have just made that dream a reality."
