I was Caught up in a Hero Summoning, but that World is at Peace (WN)-Chapter 2211: Miyama Kaito’s Birthday Celebration Party ⑬
Kuro had been fiercely protesting to Shiro, who had gone wild with her natural airheadedness and applied some outrageous buffs, but after a while, she let out a sigh with a somewhat resigned expression.
[……Hahh, well…… as long as I understand what’s going on, there’s still a way. Let’s continue…… Here I come, Kaito-kun!]
[Eh? Y- Yeah……]
I wondered if it might be better to reset and readjust the status settings, but it seemed Kuro could still see a chance of victory, as she closed in on my character once again.
Wondering what to do, I threw out a preemptive attack just like before. Kuro used the invincibility frames that occur during guard step movement to dodge it and close the distance between us.
Pulling off an invincible dodge against a quick poke like that is a pretty difficult technique, but the fact that she did it so smoothly really shows Kuro’s skill.
Then, Kuro's character landed a heavy attack on mine…… but the damage was just 1. I see, my DEF is also boosted 50 times over, so it's no wonder the damage hardly gets through.
[……As expected, normal attacks won’t work. In that case!]
"Oh! Kuro-san is pulling away from Kaito-san’s character and…… picked up a randomly spawned weapon item!"
Ah, I see, there’s that option too…… In this game, various items, including weapons, spawn on the stage over time.
And the damage from these weapon items is a fixed value based on the weapon itself, independent of the character's DEF. So even with my DEF multiplied 50 times, she can still deal proper damage.
The weapons have different strengths, appear randomly, and break after a certain number of uses, but still, this gives Kuro a real fighting chance.
Kuro’s movement was sharper than mine, and with me being slightly flustered and not playing my best, she steadily dealt damage with the weapon, whittling away around 300 HP from my character.
Unn, with this, it feels like we can have a proper match. Alright then, before things get too heated, I’ll use the chance while Kuro is off collecting items to activate my healing skill.
One of the abilities of the character I’m using is a skill that restores a small amount of HP. The healing is only about 50 points, the animation takes a while, and if you get attacked during it, it fails. There’s also a big cooldown, so it’s not the most useful skill, but while Kuro is busy picking up items, I can squeeze in a little recovery.
As planned, Kuro didn’t have time to interrupt me, and as the healing skill activated…… my character’s HP shot past "3000".

[……SHIROOOOO!!! You even messed with the skills!?]
[Yes. I boosted the healing by 50 times, and I made the attack skills pierce through guards too.]
[If you do that, I’ve got zero chance of winning!!]
[Is there a problem?]
[……Maybe I should take out Shiro before fighting Kaito-kun……]
It must be devastating to think you’ve worked so hard to deal damage, only for me to recover it all instantly. Actually, it looks like she even messed with the HP cap, it’s over 999 now……
[……Shiro-san, this is way too unfair. Please reset it.]
[Fumu, if that's what Kaito-san says, I’ll reset it. I’ll return the HP to the previous value too.]
[Thank you…… Kuro, do you want the stats readjusted too?]
[No, that’s fine. As long as the skills aren’t completely busted, I can still fight. Kaito-kun, you go all out too, okay?]
Seeing Kuro’s bright smile, I brushed away my hesitation and gave a firm nod. Kuro seemed to genuinely be enjoying the challenge of taking on my ridiculously buffed character, so I decided not to overthink it and fight seriously.
As the battle resumed for the third time, Kuro’s character closed in, weapon in hand. What she currently has now is a melee weapon…… which likely meant she’d try to use invincibility dodges to get up close again.
With that in mind, I threw out the same preemptive attack as before, but this time, I immediately tilted the control stick in the opposite direction and pressed the Heavy Attack button.
By turning the character and attacking at the same time, I created a timing shift in the attack, a technique called a "delayed strike". It caught Kuro’s character just as her invincibility frames ended, dropping her HP to zero and launching her off the stage.
"Ohhh! A sharp strike from Kaito-san lands cleanly! With just one Life left, Kuro-san has been cornered! ……Oya? Looks like Kuro’s signaling for a time-out again."
[……Um…… actually, could we adjust the stats too? I- I thought it’d be fine the way things were but…… Kaito-kun, you’re probably about as good as Amel-chan, and if you’re able to counter my feints like that…… yeah, I don’t think I can keep up……]
Seeing the surprised look on Kuro’s face, I couldn’t help but think "Ah, that explains it". Earlier, since my stats were so absurdly high, I’d been fighting a bit awkwardly, not sure what the best approach was. Kuro must have assumed that was the extent of my skill, and figured that even with a 50-fold stat difference, she could manage.
But in truth, I’m not exactly a slouch myself. After all, I usually play alongside Amel-san, and while she is stronger than me, I can hold my own against her well enough.
[……Shiro-san, adjust the stats as well please.]
[Understood. Let’s go with a 5-times boost……]
[U- Unn, that sounds reasonable…… At least I won’t get one-shotted like this.]
[Kuro, should we restart from scratch? You’re down one Life now.]
[……Hmm, nah, it’s fine. Let’s keep going. Now that my attacks will actually land, I can fight properly.]
With 5 times the stats and one Life left, considering the gap between our skill levels, this might actually be a fair handicap.
Without the risk of being taken out in a single hit, Kuro wouldn’t have to rely on risky invincible dodges anymore. Given her overall stronger fundamentals, even if I fight at full strength, it’s hard to say if I’ll win.
Well, no need to get too caught up in winning or losing. For now, I’ll just focus on giving it my all.
<Afterword>
Serious-senpai : [By the way, how strong is Kaito?]
? ? ? : [Against Amel-san, his win rate is about 30 to 40 percent. Against Lilia-san, thanks to the difference in luck, he wins around 90 percent of the time. Even if he were to go up against Eulpecula-san, with the difference in experience and game knowledge, it'd probably be about 70:30 in Kaito-san's favor.]
