I will be a demon in this life!-Chapter 227
Isirid felt her heart beating fast; Mart’s words made her happy.
The baby held the sheets that wrapped him with his hands.
At that moment, Teraz and Persec entered.
Persec looked at his granddaughter, and she said to him with a warm smile:
"I’m fine, Grandfather." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Right now, you’re smiling like your grandmother," Persec thought to himself.
Teraz looked at the baby and was surprised to see that it was a powerful baby.
"He’ll look a little like you. He’s almost a copy of you when you were born. Without the horns, of course."
When Persec approached the baby, the baby seemed to smile and began to babble.
"I feel the cursed energy in him," thought Mart as he watched his son react.
"Persec Sevec. That will be your name. You will be the ruler of curses," said Mart enthusiastically, and the baby continued to babble.
Persec Merliano was a little surprised, but he also felt honored.
"It seems that the lineage of curses runs strong in my great-grandson. I will become his master in the future", said Persec Merliano, who at that moment took little Persec Sevec in his arms.
"I would be honored, let it be so", said Mart Sevec.
Persec Merliano’s proposal to make his great-grandson his disciple was the best thing for the demon baby who was born with the lineage of curses.
...
Days later.
On Marrac Mountain. Under a completely cloudy, nighttime sky.
Moraf Arcariz walked through a forest with uneven terrain, his demonic perception activated. He had killed several monsters and hostile beasts, but only 30 percent of those beasts were corroded.
Now, he was tracking an ogre that had killed some lower-level beasts and monsters.
Near Moraf, three sub-commanders of the marquisate were maintaining a constant surveillance perimeter against any threat extrinsic to Marrac Mountain.
As Moraf walked, some leaves on the ground crunched underfoot, but he could also see traces of footprints and did not hesitate to follow them.
Several minutes later, he sensed the presence and threatening energy of a fifth-rank being, most likely at the "peak point."
Moraf wielded his blue sword, activated his demonic aura, and ran toward his target. After all, he had already reached the "midpoint" of the fifth rank while hunting the corroded monsters and beasts. He felt capable of defeating most demons in the fifth rank, and for him, beasts and monsters would be no exception.
Boom!
The ground shook and a shockwave of power spread out, knocking down some trees.
The blue sword covered with a demonic aura collided with a bone club covered in corrosive energy.
Roar.
The nearly 4-meter-tall ogre, with a warty, grayish, fat body, was furious.
The ogre’s eyes were completely black, and a dark miasma emerged from them, as well as from its mouth.
Moraf had a steady gaze, did not hesitate, and attacked again.
Bang!
The ogre swung his bone club and Moraf sharpened his aura. At first, the impact produced an even more powerful shockwave than before. It seemed that everything would remain at a standstill, but Moraf did not want that to happen. He raised his aura as much as he could and repelled the club to one side, creating an opening in the enemy’s defense.
AAHH!
Diagonal upward cut!
A demonic aura cut emerged from the blue sword, and the ogre’s body fell, cut in two. It was such a powerful cut that it extended for a distance of almost 500 meters, cutting everything in its path.
The deputy commanders were impressed.
Moraf felt his arms trembling, but he quickly used his demonic energy to stabilize his body and not forget what he had experienced.
"Potions"
Moraf remembered that Mart gave him many potions to help him replenish his demonic energy and recover from wounds and injuries. Most of the potions had been made by Selis, who was increasingly improving her mastery of demonic alchemy.
After drinking the potions, he looked around at his surroundings. The area was destroyed on the surface.
"It’s nothing compared to the power of the marquis and Meleic. I must continue to grow stronger," Moraf thought as he looked up at the summit of the immense Marrac Mountain.
"Let’s rest here!" Moraf said to the three deputy commanders of the marquisate.
The four of them wore their respective marquisate uniforms and sturdy boots to walk without difficulty in that hostile and unpredictable environment.
...
One week later.
Mart was in his study with Persec Sevec. The baby liked to be held in Mart’s right arm.
"You’re a very capricious little one," Mart smiled as he watched his son sleep.
"He will be powerful," said the female voice that seemed to come out of nowhere.
"My goddess, it’s been a long time since I’ve heard from you," Mart murmured.
Persec Sevec opened his eyes, began to babble, and stretched his little arms into the air with a smile.
"Do you want me to give him my blessing?" asked the female voice.
"It is your decision, my goddess," said Mart.
"It is done," said the female voice.
The baby laughed and a few minutes later fell asleep.
"How have you been?" asked Mart, still looking at his son.
The voice remained silent for a few minutes, and before disappearing, said:
"Waiting for the day you fulfill your promise."
Mart nodded, and shortly after, silence returned.
"My little one, it seems you will surpass your father," Mart rocked the child, and at that moment, Isirid entered wearing a simple white dress made of quality materials.
"Husband, I’ll take little Persec. It will soon be his feeding time," Isirid took the baby in her arms, kissed Mart, and then left the study.
Left alone, Mart decided to read the reports he had paid for.
Some of the reports came from spies in the human kingdom.
"I must compare each report and ultimately reach a conclusion. There is always the possibility of double agents. The important thing is to be informed about any large-scale human military campaigns.
